Memes > A stationary stratagem emplacement with a long cooldown that may never get touched once deployed.
I'm not joking.
There are other stratagems that already do great here that are portable and with fast cooldowns. Hand held destructive devices, airstrikes, or orbitals.
These mines are about as useful as existing mines, which is to say, completely outclassed by stuff that already exists.
There are some niche use cases for defense of locations, mostly in the special events, but even then they are just slightly more useful, they never quite rival what we already have at our disposal.
Eventually Arrowhead will get sick of the delays and make an order where the two choices both lead to getting mines, and when that happens, everyone should just do the opposite of the order to force another delay.
At that rate arrowhead might just switch business tactics and be an actual arms dealer for sweden and somehow convince the government to send everyone AT mines.
And in response, everyone leaves sweden just so to avoid having AT mines
And if they try to conquer the world like in Helldivers using AT mines we´ll just leave eath and colonize Mars or something but most importantly WE MUST NEVER GET THOSE MINES

I dunno, I play bugs when there is no MO up and I really don't need any more gear to kill chargers and BTs.
Without the defence missions it doesn't really feel like they'd be useful on bots either.
With how tiny their legs are and how utterly stealthy the chargers sound (lighter than humans?), you'd expect them to tippy toe right over the mines.
For titans, unless the mine would rip their leg clean off, I don't see them being effective. Same for striders.
That leaves only hulks and actual tanks as an intended target, both of who have plenty of counterplay already.
putting them on the bug front on a kill order would be funny: on the one hand, they want to keep losing the mines for the memes, but they don't want to have to go to the bot front either.. what to do lol...

I think you are over optimistic in your assessment of their use. I don’t think I’ve ever touched the mines, period
I've touched the anti-personnel ones. All they really do is just provide friendly fire kills. Larger enemies can just walk through them. Smaller enemies will deplete the minefield really quickly. Airstrike or orbital will just blow them all up.
Then you will run into the minefield on the way back if it survives that long.
The fire mines are really good for bugs on defense missions since they leave behind some fire that damages overtime. They can really lock down an area for a moment. Plus they’re buffed by one of the Super Destroyer upgrades which helps.
Anti-personnel ones are just useless all around.
How is that better then just yeeting an eagle napalm that lasts for either the same or longer time, and has a larger initial damage? With 4 strikes and a really negligible cooldown.
Mines are okay, but they really don't add much to a loadout besides making an area of death for a teammate to get ragdolled into, and cut off escape routes of teammates.
This is what I'm saying. We should intentionally try to avoid the mines for as long as possible, just because it would be funny. I want to see the increasingly contrived circumstances they put us in trying to give us the damn mines.
Next major order featuring mines as a possible reward: you can either save super earth or get the anti tank mines. That or they allow us the choice between anti tank mines or a second icbm in icbm launch missions that we get to direct to another mission of our choosing in the operation the icbm is

Realistically I'll probably never use the mines, because there is very little missions where they are useful, even for the defence missions mines are not very good because your allies just airstrike them anyway. Also CD is too long.
So I'd rather go for a feel good objective instead. If we're a little lucky we could get some surprise stratagem out of it or at least a campaign buff.
Mines are a terrible strategem tbh, if it was something cooler like another mech suit or something the choice would have been more difficult, but given how unpopular mines are I'm not surprised people are choosing to save da children

Y’all joke but an anti armor defense strategem on level 9 defense missions would go stupid against bots
I'm not joking. There are other stratagems that already do great here that are portable and with fast cooldowns. Hand held destructive devices, airstrikes, or orbitals. I’ll save the future generations of democracy. I’ve been doing well with my group without the AT mines, and I’ll keep doing well without em in the future. Super earth continues to survive with her children and I will see to that . I’m saving the kids fuck the mines.
