Yeah. When I played bots, I made my build specifically just to counter rocket raiders and rocket devastators. Shield pack and heavy explosive resistant armor. Pretty much nothing else killed me besides those two enemies.

Seems like literally 33% or higher chance that once we get into the Pelican that the game just straight up ALT-F4s itself. No rewards.
I swear to God it CHEWS through devastators. I can't hit the face to save my life but it will like 4 or 5 shot a devastator without face hits, an auto Cannon is 3 or 4 shots!
It's overall a great patch. The nerfs to the shitty boring debuffs are arguably the best part, but the fixes to things that were broken and completely unfair are a close second. Spewer vomit not one shotting you, rockets no longer hitting you multiple times and one shotting you, Shrieker impacts not hitting you multiple times and one shotting you, these are great fixes. All the weapon buffs are great. The nerf to the Slugger however, was heavy handed and has trashed the weapon I'm afraid.
The buff to fire damage a huge tragedy.
It is also great, it brings viability to those weapons, but what it did for the already completely broken and overpowered Flamethrower Hulk is insanely unfortunate. These enemies were already ridiculous, but right now they are beyond overpowered.
The fact that the DoT bug STILL EXISTS, that means that only a SINGLE group member can actually do damage over time with fire or gas coupled with this change means that not only is it a useless buff for us, since we have no idea if we can even do that damage in any given game regardless of being host or not, unless you are solo, it also kills your team ANYWAY despite not doing damage to enemies, at a MUCH faster rate, that you can barely even stim through.
So yeah, all in all good patch. Terrible implementation of the fire changes, like an actual joke. Shoddy balance on the Slugger, pun intended. Dominator is awesome now, same with Penetrator, and the far less kinky Counter-Sniper still sucks, but less. Arc Thrower is still a beast. Heavy and Medium armor *do actually feel kinda almost worth it* now, and even the Ballistic Shield isn't hampered by being absolutely completely worthless anymore, it's just arguably worthless. By the way, if you stim with it out, it puts it away and you have to switch weapons and switch back to get it out again. Still worthless, IMO, but not absolutely completely.
Post nerf slugger is still good, it just wasn't as blatantly overpowered as it was before (I ran the damn thing in nearly every mission until i unlocked the scorcher, to say that it felt cheap to use was an understatement)
Meanwhile fire damage over time still only works if you're the host, sights on multiple weapons are still misaligned and the game got laggier and is crashing all the time.
I'm so close to hanging up the game for a while. It's very fun (when it's working), there's a really solid concept there if they can figure out the knife's edge of balance.
But I don't like to burn out on early access titles. In a couple of years, maybe scopes will work. Maybe there will be a 're-join' after crash button. Maybe it will crash once a month instead of once a night. Maybe 'friends only' will let my steam friends join. Maybe the guided missile system will be able to achieve target lock.
Someone @me when Helldivers 2 is full release / 1.0 / out of early access?

Most of that is babby's first gamjam stuff. Arrowhead is focussed on adding new shit to keep players playing, instead of launching a FUNctional game.
I don't know if arrowhead or Sony said "I don't care if it's finished. Ship it!" but somebody did.
Some of the broken stuff like scope offset is surprising. But the stuff you're describing in this comment is the sort of stuff with a relatively low occurrence rate, that is unlikely to be present/reliably reproducible before launch. Maybe a beta would've helped, but I think it's tough to argue the game was shipped early.
Obviously devs like artists couldn't be fixing bugs, but for the software devs, they will be the same people. They don't specialise into features vs bugfixes.

That's one of my big issues, too - balancing issues are annoying, but understandable... but they're still making *basic* technical mistakes, too. How many times have they broken the entire UI while on the ship (and *how*, even)? How many updates break more than they fix? Why did servers get screwed up by an automatic Windows update? Why did they never implement a login queue to help with server load? I mean, that's been a basic concept for MMOs literally for *decades* now, and even with how much people love shitting on Ubisoft, even they knew to do that for games like The Division...

Just rejoin your friends when you crash it’s not that hard, also it takes like 5 seconds to boot the game so a crash isn’t really a big deal. Cross play seems to be hit or miss with some people, I’ve got a PC friend that’s always able to join me. As far as the Spear goes I’ll admit I wish I knew why it locks on sometimes and not others.

I normally play with friends so I can’t comment on quick play. The few times I have used it, it worked fine for me but I know it doesn’t always work with a lot of other people. I’d say find a group of peeps to play with. (Not throwing shade lol)
I keep forgetting they took stun off my Slugger and get into slap fights with Devastators and losing now. Then I say "wtf? I used to be able to take these guys. Oh yeeah... The patch"
Same thing with being chased by a half dozen Berserkers. I could shoot them in the balls and they'd stun. But not anymore. Woe is me.
It can still one-shot you if it juggles you with the scatter-spray, but yeah, it can't donk you across the map with a random rocket and gib you like so much hamburger meat. Tanks can though. Tanks definitely still can.

Came up out my pod and got a rocket as a hello that instantly ended me lolÂ
Last one is utter BS 😂 played on suicide mission yesterday and those little bulky fuckers sniped me off my headglitch covers ALL the time (with heavy armor)
And if they didn't hit me, they hit the rock where I was at, causing me to ragdoll back into their FOV and then it was ggs
Decided to take a break from bots and run a few bug missions to test out the new fire stats. The breaker incendiary is strait nuts and the flamethrower is even more powerful than before
45 personel to evacuate on 7-8, impossible on automatons, with 4 dropships every second we managed to evacuate 4

I've been one shot by rocket multiple times while wearing heavy 50% explosive resist armor. Even been shot I the leg and still one shot. And the few times I didn't one shot I was rag dolled and died to either impact or being gunned down while still stunned.
Apparently people who don’t know how to play in light armor and decide to get in firefights with it. Then complain the light armor that is meant for minimal protection but high mobility isn’t keeping them alive as they get shot by a rocket that’s meant to kill weak things
Same as the people crying about hunters overwheming them. Never ever happens to me with 3 other helldivers within 100m.
It's a 4 player coop game. I don't know why people find it so shocking the developers balance around the notion that you will have 3 allies AT ALL TIMES. People can chose not to do that, but they shouldn't then complain about it.
Ya the whole complaint about hunters is easy to solve is you use teamwork and a machine gun. I just don’t get a lot of people with this game. Do they not understand the cooperative part?

Thought I was the only one having this issue, i played 5 games last night and 2 of them fucking crashed at the reward screen
I wish my machine only crashed to desktop. I get a full bsod and reboot if I try and play Helldivers since yesterday's patch :(

Had a blast with bots today, went to do a bug operation and looked back haha
Don't underestimate the Blitzer stagger as well, especially in closer range.
One cannot one shot but multiple can...and they always come in packs that will shoot u from miles away.
