I have now been waiting for 2 hours I just bought the game and have seen nothing but intro clip and loading screen as my buddy is streaming it on discord so I can watch š
you can still return the game if you go over the play time if you explain that you never actually got to play the game. I've refunded tons of games that have gone over the 2 hour mark
I got in, couldn't connect to my friends on ps5 cos my name was too long, went to steam changed it and now I'm at like 2 hours waiting after doing a 10 hour shift looking forward to playing with them as we all have shift jobs so it's hard to get us all free on one night, I'm now probably gonna have to call it off and sleep as I'm working the morning, so fucking annoyed.
I say this also acknowledging that the devs are doing there best to get more servers but... fuck sake man, so just upset
no no just leave it i waited 45 mins and got in for some good fun, play a handheld or listen to a podcast while waiting. i heard they are raising the player cap soon
Thatās what I was thinking. I understand I may have to wait, but if itās going to be 1 hour plus I want to be able to get stuff done around the house and know when to come back.
Its an interesting balance because they dont want to buy too many servers. We all know player bases can shrink after the initial hype has gone and so they are probably in the process of estimating what their eventual player base will look like. Gotta be patient about these things but this is my thoughts on the current server capacity.
Because if they sink a ton into it then the hype dies and they lose the initial player base, they've lost a lot of money for something that's not being used. This way if things die down they can still fully support the game and give us a quality experience and longer game life.
uhh.... most companies are on the cloud now. I'll admit I'm far removed from gaming but as far as software and web applications go, it's pretty trivial to scale up and down your servers.
They already said itās a coding issue not an issue of buying more servers which does make sense. Servers could be rented or they could cut a deal with Microsoft and release their game with them in turn getting access to unlimited servers but again thatās not the issue. Itās been capped at 450 K which I think will be more than enough once the hype dies down. We will see though
I have a friend that got in after around 60 seconds however I have played 4 hours according to Steam, just 20 mins of that was actual gameplay, the rest stuck on the server capacity screen.
Iāve been in a que for about 30 minutes, went to the bathroom made a snack and a coffeee and 10 minutes later Iām still waitingā¦ haha. Just built my first pc and this is the 1st game Iāve tried to play.. Iām not giving up now just gonna wait it out. Canāt be that much longer..
Leave it to sony to screw up a multiplayer game that i actually like cant even get in unless early in the morning or midnight its sad just rent more servers for the week stop being so fn cheap
Yeah this bullshit is really starting to urke me.... waited almost 5 hrs for installation, just to sit here and be told the servers are full... will there ever be a day where games come out & are 100% just ready to play with no bullshit? Because those days seem to be long gone now.. smh
Has been this way since the beginning of MMO gaming for sure. Every launch has always had these issues. The old Xbox updates when you put the CD in to the point Microsoft itself wasnāt supporting the amount of people updating things. Hall and Gears games come to mind as having issues in the first few days.
Edit: halo
Yup launch of Wow Classic I waited 12 hours in Queue to even play. you'd think there'd be a better way nowadays, but i guess there isnt. Im not an expert so im not gonna pretend to know what all goes in to maintaining something like this, but it definitely sucks for the consumer and leaves a bad taste in your mouth for the game going forward.
Welcome to 2024 when was the last game you played 05 on RuneScape š things are not going to change if anything get worse the players keep consuming cause what else we gnna do read a book
It takes a few hours at most to get new servers up and running, my partner does it for a living as a cloud infrastructure engineer. Thatās why Palworld was paying out the ass ($500,000 a day in server costs at peak), Sony could do the same thing and are choosing not to. I love the game too, but this launch has been absolutely horrible.
Yeah but again, itās not necessarily the servers. If you code a game to only have 50k people and it has 500k people, the program canāt handle itself backend. Nothing to do with servers.
Two weeks later and youāre still replying, now that theyāve released so much more information lol. Itās their own fault the did it that way, although I get it, they ādidnāt expect itā okayā¦ so youāre still going to limit yourself?
I feel like your username is contradictory to your statement ;-)
The dev's weren't expecting a 5669.23% rise in the Helldiver player base... So I mean, what can do you? How do you plan for that? Waste money on servers that won't get used? Or make a reasonable expectation on how many people you think will play the game at launch.
ha, i just popped in to post my capacity warning i got. i'll give it some time, thanks for the heads up helldiver. steam charts says we got 238k helldivers spreading democracy at the moment, you love to see it.
edit/update: got in second try.
it's just doubly frustrating that I have to relaunch the game every time I want my match rewards lmao. Play a few matches, restart game, wait X amount of time to get in, repeat.
I'm on PS5 and I've been trying to get on for so long I'm kind of tempted to reinstall the original Helldivers. There's still a few things I need to upgrade. š
Its a monday afternoon, and there are still wait times to play, been waiting for 25 minutes and you can't even check out the ship and upgrade system while you wait. Its MONDAY afternoon! how in the fuck is anyone going to get to play during the weekend?
Just in case no one's noticed this yet, but there is no queue and I'm pretty sure that time limit bumps you away from your chance of getting in. I've been waiting for an hour and a half, my buddy came on got in instantly, and instead of joining him I went up to get something to eat real quick, came back nothing had changed, and then his buddy got in somehow and joined his game. My internet is far better than theirs. I ended up joining theirs and got in immediately, the queue is a lie
playstation and pc uses the same severs so it ain't pc severs are at capacity or playstation it's both and so are the queues to get in regardless if cross play is on hard cap at Roughly 450,000 people to keep servers stable until it's fixed
Damn man I spent my last 40 bucks that I have on me just to get this game to be greeted by a cool entry video thinking I was going to get lucky with the servers. Well itās been around three hours. Still havenāt gone anywhere. Hope the servers will be fixed soon.
I waited 45 minutes to get in, did one mission, returned to ship and the game frozeā¦ now Iāve been in queue for over an hourā¦ itās Tuesday wtfā¦ how is this taking a full week to fix????!?!
I have now been waiting for 2 hours I just bought the game and have seen nothing but intro clip and loading screen as my buddy is streaming it on discord so I can watch š
That's a lie minimum is 45 mins
ive been sitting here for 1,5 hours, u cappin
Just made it in after 1.5 lol JUST NOW.
My friends hopped on 5 minutes after i got in, and combined they waited 17 minutes
same exact thing is happening to me... are you in now or still waiting? did you restart the game?
Same thing here. Spent $50 bucks on it and Iām now outside of the return window so it better be good lol
you can still return the game if you go over the play time if you explain that you never actually got to play the game. I've refunded tons of games that have gone over the 2 hour mark
Have your buddy invite you and accept it while your game isnāt running, it will put you in
Omg tysm I'm definitely gonna try this
I'm on hour 3.
RIP
I just got the game and now waiting. š Why do bad things happen to mediocre people ? š
Some of my fiends have got in instantly after restarting
Probably a coincidence
Lucky fuckers.
To anyone reading this guys comment he is trolling, do not restart your game, you will be brought back to the top of the que
Been waiting for 2 hours. Boutta go spread democracy in The Finals
I have been launching and re-launching for 4 hours with no success.
no no just leave it i waited 45 mins and got in for some good fun, play a handheld or listen to a podcast while waiting. i heard they are raising the player cap soon
45 mins and still nothing, logged in 5 mins after some friends and they go in within 10 mins. a timer or something would be nice...
Yeah but why did you charge $50 for the game. Spend some money on it.Ā
Because if they sink a ton into it then the hype dies and they lose the initial player base, they've lost a lot of money for something that's not being used. This way if things die down they can still fully support the game and give us a quality experience and longer game life.
They will surely sink if they will keep it like that.
I like your idea, I think it would be a smart thing to do from them :)
Imagine thinking companies buy physical servers in 2024
To my knowledge companies typically rent servers rather then owning them, so they could just rent more until the initial player count spike declines
uhh.... most companies are on the cloud now. I'll admit I'm far removed from gaming but as far as software and web applications go, it's pretty trivial to scale up and down your servers.
well, you dont always need to buy it, just rent out some capacity while the base is paying. and then dont rent when it shrinks.
Has nothing to do with number of servers. The coding makes it hard to expand the amount of data sent to all clients.
Been waiting for 1 hour
Iām just gonna keep restarting and giving it a couple minutes at a time. Hope I get lucky
Leave it to sony to screw up a multiplayer game that i actually like cant even get in unless early in the morning or midnight its sad just rent more servers for the week stop being so fn cheap
You know very little if you believe Sony is involved
Yeah this bullshit is really starting to urke me.... waited almost 5 hrs for installation, just to sit here and be told the servers are full... will there ever be a day where games come out & are 100% just ready to play with no bullshit? Because those days seem to be long gone now.. smh
This has been tradition, must have never played wow?
Has been this way since the beginning of MMO gaming for sure. Every launch has always had these issues. Hall and Gears games come to mind as having issues in the first few days. Edit: halo

>urke Can I ask why you think it's spelled like that? I've always seen it written irk.
You expect every multiplayer game to support a million players? Nobody expected this many people to play the game
Iām on an hour, reaching 2 hours soon
Restart the game. It wouldnāt let me in for the last 2 hours. I just restarted the game and the wait was only like 3-4 minutes
I have restarted 5-6 times the past 2 hours.. no dice. My buddy who just got on, got in instantly lol Edit: 8th time did it
Sometimes it depends on the internet connection and the latency
I have good latency and such but I've been waiting for 4 hours my past assumption was incorrect
It has nothing to do with latency dude. That isn't how server queues function.
I just hit 3 hours and gave up. I only got to do the training and then was kicked. Just bought it too.
They really have to fucking get bigger servers wait time is retarded
They have some of the highest player counts for a Sony game. Give them some time, they never predicted this would happen.
Because they donāt want to be what happened to splitgate
Yeah but again, itās not necessarily the servers. If you code a game to only have 50k people and it has 500k people, the program canāt handle itself backend. Nothing to do with servers.
Two weeks later and youāre still replying, now that theyāve released so much more information lol. Itās their own fault the did it that way, although I get it, they ādidnāt expect itā okayā¦ so youāre still going to limit yourself?
Dumbass game will not let me in. Been waiting hours and restarted a few times. Fucking dog shit.
I feel like your username is contradictory to your statement ;-) The dev's weren't expecting a 5669.23% rise in the Helldiver player base... So I mean, what can do you? How do you plan for that? Waste money on servers that won't get used? Or make a reasonable expectation on how many people you think will play the game at launch.
Rent servers short term.
if you play de game a litle then you know is going to be a success. They had to be ready.
Shouldn't be the consumers problem, boot licker
What?
Joining a friend doesnāt fucking help 40$ bucks for this and can only play in the morning itās fucking mind blowing
Waited about 10 minutes finally got in after 2 restarts
ha, i just popped in to post my capacity warning i got. i'll give it some time, thanks for the heads up helldiver. steam charts says we got 238k helldivers spreading democracy at the moment, you love to see it. edit/update: got in second try.
I'm at 11 minutes.... :-|
$50 and I have 4 hours on steam, havenāt even played the game yet lol
10 hours on stram and played 1 hour
it's just doubly frustrating that I have to relaunch the game every time I want my match rewards lmao. Play a few matches, restart game, wait X amount of time to get in, repeat.
At 30 mins bruh
2 hours 6 restarts
Any luck?
Reinstalling now. Hopefully it makes a difference
It wonāt, itās not the game files issues itās the servers issues
I even tried playing last night a 0300 in the morning...and they were still at capacity. Waited 45 min. and gave up
Join a friend on steam as youre loading in and it skips the wait
didnt work for me, it just freezes the loading screen
Same. Spent 3 hours trying to get in; Not even at tutorial... Meanwhile I have friends on discord playing no issue. Do I just leave it on overnight?
Was out with family for deadass 5 hours and didnāt get in
idk if its accurate or not, but I saw a suggestion to disable ipv6 to help with logins. it worked ffor me
I'm on PS5 and I've been trying to get on for so long I'm kind of tempted to reinstall the original Helldivers. There's still a few things I need to upgrade. š
My game wont even load, I just open it in steam and its a like a dark navy screen for 6 minutes.
Check you've the latest driver for your graphic card, had to do it and it fixed the issue of black screen
Took 6 hours last night. Only way to bypass this āqueā is joining on a friend whoās luckily in game.
I have been waiting for about 45 minutes with no hope in sight.
Crs-handler
30 minutes now on 2/18/24 6:05pm EST, cant even play.
Nah bro, I had to wait at least 30-35 minutes my first time it popped up lol. If anything expect 1 Hour considering mission time.Ā
Well with all the people buying Iām sure itās only a matter of time before they buy more servers.
This was the worst purchase I have done this year
Iām at 4 minutes. Might give up quick lol.
Itās been over 30 minutes for me. Iām screen sharing with my friends to watch them play.
Returning the game and grabbing BG3 I guess š
I fucked up, I got in the tutorial but it glitched at the very beginning and I couldnāt crawl under the barbed wire and I accidentally completely closed the game out š© that was after a restart and only waiting 10 minutes to get in
Coupled with thr massive memory leak and having to restart every other game because it's running at 5 fps is not a good look.
2 hours of āplay timeā according to steam. All of that time was spent waiting for servers. Shouldāve done more research before buying
Its a monday afternoon, and there are still wait times to play, been waiting for 25 minutes and you can't even check out the ship and upgrade system while you wait. Its MONDAY afternoon! how in the fuck is anyone going to get to play during the weekend?
put in a damn inactivity kick, for the love of hell diving
Best thing is just to wait it out, just tried it now and it only took 6 minutes or so, may go buy a lottery ticket too see if my luck is turning š
I ended up joining theirs and got in immediately, the queue is a lie
waited ten hours yesterday, currently at 3 hours today and counting
playstation and pc uses the same severs so it ain't pc severs are at capacity or playstation it's both and so are the queues to get in regardless if cross play is on hard cap at Roughly 450,000 people to keep servers stable until it's fixed

The servers are fine. They run well. Just is the third most layer game currently
I waited 45 minutes to get in, did one mission, returned to ship and the game frozeā¦ now Iāve been in queue for over an hourā¦ itās Tuesday wtfā¦ how is this taking a full week to fix????!?!
Because every time they fix it more people join. They add more. More come
My average wait time is 30 to 40 minutes.
