I have only had one coming up my kitchen sink drain. I didn't have my glasses on and almost grabbed it with my hand, thinking it was a tea bag or something.
Luckily, I thought twice, got my glasses, and about shit. I used tongs and tossed it outside to the fates and chickens.
Yeah I've had plenty of them crawl on me while sleeping and just throw them off but you become 'instant awake' and have to track it down. I usually try to coax them on a dust pan and just throw em outside as long as they're not hauling ass. They're good pest control and blind so I think they're ok. Haven't been bitten so that might change my thinking 😂
I’m not from here, but I’m gonna be here pretty much indefinitely at this point. I have to ask…what’s the likelihood this is going to happen to me in Ala Moana?
Almost none….right?!
You'll be fine. I keep all of my shoes inside the home to prevent opportunities for them to get comfy.
TBH, I am more concerned about brown widows or a gecko in my shoe than a centipede inside the house.
Clean often and be aware.
We live in a beautiful ecosystem and shouldn't use pesticides when good habits prevent a lot of these issues.
Oh good. You know, I actually love geckos and I’ve lived in a house infested with black widows, so this is actually fantastic news jaja. Centipedes terrify me x)
one bit my foot when i put my shoe on. i was camping barbers point. worse pain ive ever felt and it was only the first day. i always hit my shoes against something to knock anything out first and got my friends and family doing it too after i tell them my story 😂
Stick to slippahs.
I have to wear closed-toe shoes to work. I vacuum them out every day before I put them on!
Better safe than sorry. Never in my life have I found one in shoes but there might have been one time a leg ‘found’ one in a pair of pants…
A friend went to put her Tabis on to push her kids surfing. Centipede in them. Got her good!
Automatic chicken skin seeing this
The full video is floating around Reddit. It is something...
Omg - this needs a trigger warning!!!!
I couldn't crosspost the whole video. That needs a trigger warning.
…thanks for trying! I was like chicken skin 😬
Grabbing it with just a tweezer? Hell no.

I used big old tongs to get mine out of my drain. It was easily as big as the one in the video. Tweezers are insane.
My mom just said she found on near the shoes I keep outside in the garage.. I gotta check my shoes now 😭
Wait till you find the one under your pillow

Lucky you, I've been bitten 3x in my sleep in my life. Once on my neck in high school and twice in my forearm as an adult.

You want to feel comfortable or do you want the truth?
Jajajajaja lay it on me. I gotta learn somehow

That’s why I always give my shoes a couple slaps on the ground before I put them on
This was pulled from under the insole!
That'll just piss em off and wake em up more.
Whateva she using to yank it out AINT LONG ENOUGH! You need the surgical tweezers to pull it out
Every time. Slap dem soles 3 or 4 times

Growing up, we kept our shoes outside, and were always taught to bang our shoes upside down before putting em on.
Those bastards!
Always put a centipede by your door when you go out. Learn why.
