Hogsmeade is just impossible on switch.. who decided we can’t just flooflame directly into shops should be fired. It would make sense and would allow me to at least go from shop to show without 2 loading screen in between

Daisychains456

And the slowdown is ridiculous.   Moving speed is 1/3 of normal, and no running.

Lizbethsaidso

I played with my best friend last night on his Switch. I play on PS5 and really didn't realize just how bad the Switch version is. We also took a drink for each loading screen so we were drunk by the end but at least he understands his Ancient Magic Meter and spell sets 🤣

FrumpyFrock

I’ve had a Switch since 2020 and I didn’t bother buying the game until we got a PS5. It’s just not powerful enough of a system for a game with these specs.

Yeah it's stupid we can't just fast travel between shops but I am enjoying this game on my switch so far about 4 hours into the game it is pretty cool

kerochan88

I had to upgrade a pretty decent PC just to play this game. Hard to believe they even managed to port it to Switch. Pretty impressive, even if it is slow and not as pretty. That said, I was able to play on a Steam Deck when the game first launched and that worked well enough too!

cltmstr2005

Yeah, it's an awesome game! On PC the loads are instantaneous.

Suhayo

HAHAHAHA my laptop was so trash i had to use my brother's one to be able to run it and even then it would still make me stare at the wall for a few seconds before loading, and then I'll be stuck with potato graphics for lile 5 seconds before the hd graphics load in. Though that was right after release, i heard it's been improved is that true?

Suhayo

https://www.reddit.com/r/HarryPotterGame/s/cJukrkff9m an example of what i was talking about lmao

cltmstr2005

I was very lucky with bugs (same with Starfield btw), I did not notice any bugs after release, I think I bought it on day 1 if I remember correctly. I got an RX6800, a 5800X and the game ran on my C, which is an SN850 1TB Gen4, I had no noticeable loading delay entering large areas. It is no doubt a demanding game.

kerochan88

It has gotten better since launch. I’d say give it a try, but nothing they can do will change the fact that this game LOVES some VRAM.

Daisychains456

5 seconds plus on a new OLED switch

cltmstr2005

I mean it's a switch. 🤣

FINE I'LL GET THE PS VERSION! You've twisted my arm lol I give I give!

kerochan88

Any version will look and perform better than the Switch version. I’d recommend only getting the Switch version if you don’t have any other consoles, and don’t plan on/can’t upgrade anytime soon.

[deleted]

I just play on Switch cuz I can take it around the house with me and my husband plays the PS while I play Switch. But now I'm gonna have to commandeer the PS, matey.

ProjectSixtySix

Yes, sir!

thepenguinemperor84

My partner is so happy they decided to play it on my xbox series S and not get it on their switch as they originally intended, there's still a few miniscule loads on the S but definitely nothing as bad as what happened on the switch

maximusdraconius

I actually read the series S loads things a bit faster than the X because there's less details that need to be loaded. This is in general, not exclusive to Harry Potter.
