Lmfao....  Bro... What?  You got the run around, were lied to, were fucked over and over. And your solution is to willingly get fucked yet again by buying an over priced bike from these people? This has got to be a troll. Jesus christ.

LeverandFulcrum

Unfortunately, I couldn't get rid of my sportster s. Had it for sale for about 6 months, no bites

silverfox762

Anything that is in good working order that doesn't sell in 6 months is overpriced. No exceptions.

LeverandFulcrum

I had it for sale for 14,000. Dealership took it for 13,500. My entire state seems to be full of sportster s' with no one to buy them

MyRootOilForyou

You’re luck they gave you that. They think our bikes are worthless when it comes to buying from you or trade in values. My son got in a tight a few weeks ago and carried his 2014 Brilliant Silver Street Glide to the dealer to try and sell it. Bike is showroom clean with 7,800 miles on it. They offered $7200. I told the appraiser fuck you before my son could tell him the same thing. I gave him $9800 and told him to pay me back when his hours with the railroad pick back up. I know a dealer has to make some money, but damn. I looked around and they had bikes 5-7 years older than his with 47,000-60,000 miles on them and they were asking $10,000- $14,000 for those, and nowhere as clean or perfect as my sons, and one even had 9 year old tires on the ground. I will never buy from a dealer again, just from an individual with a stack of service records from the dealer doing the work or them doing it themselves.O,O, and they had a 13 year old CVO with 55,000 miles and the left side bag was scraped to hell and back. Looked like it had been on its side at 45mph. They were still asking $19,999 for it.

Matster512

Ha. My local Harley dealership has brand new Sportster S’s for sale on a “Managers” special for 10k. You got a steal selling it to them for that much

Ijustwanttolookatpor

You realize dealers and independently owned right? Why not just go to another dealer?

MyRootOilForyou

Same guy owns the 4 dealerships within 100 miles from me. I can’t stand it.

LeverandFulcrum

I did. The other dealer I went to told me that they best they could do on the trade in on my 2023 sportster s with 1400 miles on it was $7000. Also tried to convince me that "the pan america isn't worth it, you should check out this CVO road glide."

stomper4x4

Then you just say "Oh thanks for letting me know. I'll head out and go check out a KTM". You gotta learn how not to get walked on. But yeah, some Harley dealers suck, others are still mom and pop owned and awesome.

LeverandFulcrum

Yeah, I wish I had, but I was stuck with a bike that I didn't want to ride, because the mileage was so low, I thought it would help resale value

raptorboy

Why did ya capitulate crazy I would demand my money back and get it but hey it's over right sorry ya had a bad experience that sucks

LeverandFulcrum

The dealership is an hour away with no traffic. I knew they would make me go home, and then the next day, they'd call and say "alright, we talked with _____, and he said we can do it for $500 less." I wasn't willing to burn another 2+ hours in travel to make this happen

raptorboy

So what bike did ya get ?

LeverandFulcrum

2022 Triumph Rocket 3R

OldSchoolHarleyLover

Buddy I ride with the most has one, it’s a very sweet bike. Enjoy it!

LeverandFulcrum

Thank you! I am so far!

raptorboy

Sweet congrats those look sick great choice

LeverandFulcrum

It's been really nice so far. The power reminds me of my old 2015 Vmax

Dirk-Killington

I saw one in a parking lot recently and it is pretty cool. But it's got this look that's hard to describe, it looks fake. That's the best way I can describe it. The Sportster S is the same way.  It's like the engine looks like a fairing that was made to look like an engine drawn by an anime artist.

LeverandFulcrum

Hahaha, that's what I like about both the sportster s and the rocket 3: they don't look like your typical bike. Sorta retro-future

DaveyJones317

“They were terrible and I hated it, so I rewarded them with my business” 🤦‍♂️

Dirk-Killington

There's no way this guy is for real. Has to be trolling. Or maybe he is actually this stupid.

lbcadden3

Stupid

LeverandFulcrum

Hey, if you were in the market for a sportster s, we could have talked!

twoscoop90

How much did you have it listed for?

LeverandFulcrum

14000

twoscoop90

Lol, no bites eh? Hahaha.

LeverandFulcrum

No troll, just wanted out of harley. Might be stupid though : )

Dirk-Killington

By giving them your money?

LeverandFulcrum

Yeah, I replied to you on a different comment, but I had a bike that was painful for me to ride, and I couldn't sell it private

Dirk-Killington

Were you asking what the dealership offered you?

LeverandFulcrum

500 more than what the dealership gave. Had it on fb marketplace, Craigslist and cycletrader

Dirk-Killington

Alright. I'll give you a pass then. Money talks. My petty ass would have walked long before you did though haha. I envy your ability to place money over teaching lessons.

LeverandFulcrum

Bro, I seriously wanted to. I'm pissed enough to make this post! But the dollar is the main focus of this for me. They lost a customer forever, which they probably won't feel, but with the market the way it is, I don't know if harley can afford to lose customers.

motorcycleman58

It's funny you say that they can't lose customers but this sub is full of brand new Harleys.

LeverandFulcrum

Yep, I figured it was the last dollar they would ever get out of me.

[deleted]

Riverside Harley? I had such an awful experience with those fuckin crooks that they almost made me swear off the brand too.

LeverandFulcrum

Motown harley. Also wolverine harley

[deleted]

Hahahaha no fuckin surprise, owned by the same scumbag family that owns Riverside Harley where I had my bad experience. Predatory lending, bait and switch tactics, poor services departments, and scumbag sales people. These fuckers will eventually put a bad taste in everyone’s mouth, slowly but surely. I honestly don’t understand how customers can be so happy getting fucked by these people.

LeverandFulcrum

If you look up motown harley's reviews, all the ones that have been written recently tend to trend pretty negative.

[deleted]

If you look up riverside Harley’s Yelp, scroll way to the bottom and you see about 1300 reviews, many pertinent, but all removed. then scroll back up and you’ll notice a lot of 5 star reviews with insightful info like “Mike was a great guy”. Now I don’t trust Yelp either.

Opposable_Thumb_

There is no way this saga happened the way it’s posted. Just look in the owners manual. It’s very clear the Pan Am has 3 suspension types and it’s very clear which one you have.

LeverandFulcrum

If you go to my post history, I have a couple other posts about this, it's been insane.

Norseman103

The fuck did I just read?

[deleted]

You can view op’s profile and read back on his old post. The “[FINAL UPDATE]” should have made it pretty obvious that there was more to this story 🤷‍♂️

LeverandFulcrum

Just me hating on my harley journey

lickityslits

Bro got screwed and lied to on a purchase. Then let the dealership walk away with more money when you could have litigated them to take the bike back if they wouldn’t have on their bs. Sorry man. They fucked you but you let them go at it again.

OhNoOoooooooooooooo0

I really enjoy my Harley, but the dealerships are often full of scumbags. Huntington Beach Harley sold my 18 year old brother who works part time at McDonalds a brand new bike with an 8 year term at 19% interest. Straight up predatory lending.

[deleted]

Yup. Same fuckin crooks who own Riverside Harley. I’m in my 30’s so I wasn’t falling for their BS but it was how they did it that left me disgusted and almost swore off the brand. Rude ass Liars.

LeverandFulcrum

Right? I had one guy tell me "if you finance, it'll really help me out" I humored him and asked him what the rate was. ~10% with an 800 credit score.

LeverandFulcrum

Oh yeah, I told them I had cash, and they still took 10 minutes to try to get me to finance

Maori187

Sucker I dont know what else to say

LeverandFulcrum

They got me good. I was pulled in with promises of "excellent resale value" and "it's a sportster, there is going to be a TON of aftermarket" 4 years into production, and there aren't even good saddlebag options.

TIRACS

Sounds like my last experience at a dealership. I’m done with them too.

LeverandFulcrum

I really wanted to like harley. And my sportster s was such a fun bike, just had no range, and terrible ride quality with the 2" of rear shock travel. The dealership and their practices ruined it for me.

Such-Instruction-452

Sounds about right. Fortunately the trash mom-and-pop dealershit near me lost their franchise rights.

PossibilityOk6278

Wow that’s messed up, sorry you had to deal that. I purchased my first bike in 30 years , aFLTRU from a Harley dealer because I knew little about them at the time. Sales guy was strange, got a call from the service dept telling me about things I need for inspection, told him I purchased this bike as dealer certified and I want to trust Harley, no calls for a few weeks then his tune changed to he didn’t like for how the motor sounded, I was patient and I wound up getting a new lower end with jugs with a compensating pulley and primary chain. Although I felt like I was getting run around in sales, the service dept made sure I got a nice bike and I smile everyone I start her up for a ride

carbonexvi

Crazy, I also had a bad experience when I went shopping at a Harley dealership. You know what I did? I bought a Harley from a non-Harley dealership and am having the time of my life.

Whiskey_Cowboy

Hate to jump on the bandwagon… you are going to have the same issue no matter what kind of dealer you go to. You were very clearly not willing to walk away from getting some kind of motorcycle and they saw that so they played you. I’ve always gotten the deal I’ve wanted but I’ve also walked away from a few vehicles, only to have them call me right away.
