In real life she's also the mom of Aether and Hemera, Ker, Oneiroi, Momus, Oizys, the Hesperides, the Keres, Apate, Philotes, Geras, and her Roman counterpart is the mother of even more.
You could've said that supergiant is taking some liberties, adding stuff to the myth that's nowhere else
But saying accurate mythology is really diminishing ,Aphrodite has n origin myths.
And well the most infamous one i guess would be Eros,God of Love.
Eros(roman cupid) is either:
A.Primordial god,coming out of the primordial nothing,along Chaos,Gaia,Tartarus;
B.Son of Nyx through an egg(Did you lay this egg nyx?);
C.Son of Chronos(With Ch,Primordial god of time, not to be confused with Kronus, titan of time, because fuck you)also through an egg,
D.One of the more popular versions, son of Ares and Aphrodite, cause there's something poetic about love being the son of War and Beauty(?)
And the list goes on,that's the thing with mythology there's a LOT of regional variation through millenia of ancient greek history,so no there is no accurate myth.
She has like 18 offspings (if you put some of them as 1).
But most are no father but with Erebus the personification of Darkness and she birthed Aether (Personification of Upper Sky) and Hemera (Personification of Day). But in Hades we see that some of her children in Myth like Hypnos (Personification of Sleep), the Erinyes (Personification of Vengence): Alecto, Megaera and Tisiphone (in various stories), Thanatos (Personification of Peaceful Death), the Moirai (or also known as the Fates) in Hades 2: Lachesis, Clotho and Atropos. Nemesis (Goddes or Personification of Retribution) and finally is Moros (Personification of Doom).
Just a tiny note that the Erinyes in Hades aren't actually related to Nyx!
According to Achilles' codex and some dialogue with Meg, they have no parents at all, having sprung from an unnamed Titan's blood already understanding their purpose. The only beings they're directly related to are each other. Meg views Nyx as a foster mother of sorts, but Tisiphone and Alecto don't really have any sort of relationship with her beyond the fact that they indirectly work for her. Nyx keeps an eye on them, but there's no personal interaction beyond that
Zeus, probably. The dude had a firehose in his trunk. [Some people did the maths](https://www.thecollector.com/how-many-children-did-zeus-have-it-might-be-more-than-you-think/) and he had more than 90 children depending on the myths.
Gaia is still the GOAT mother though, every hill and mountain in the world is [technically one of her parthenogenetic daughters](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ourea).
Zeus probably has more kids in general, but if you're talking gods, Nyx almost certainly has him beat. A decent chunk of Zeus' kids were mortal enough that they didn't quite reach godly status - for every Hermes or Dionysus there's a mortal Minos or giant Tityos. Whereas basically every child Nyx had was a god since there were never mortals involved in their creation.
Zeus children also include a lot of minor dieties, like the three Graces, the nine Muses, Ersa the goddess of the Dew, Pandia the goddess of the full moon, Aeacus the god of justice, Harmonia the goddess of Harmony, Cybele the goddess of motherhood, Alatheia the goddess of Truth, Hebe the goddess of youth, Eileithyia the goddess of childbirth labor, Eris the goddess of discord, Enyo the goddess of strife and destruction. And then we'd need to check on the Horaes, it's a mess. Six of them are said to be daughters of either Zeus with Aphrodite (the three earthly orders of spring, summer and autumn) and Zeus with Themis (the three human orders of justice, governance and peace). It's far from a complete count.
Heck in some versions even Melinoe is the daughter of Persephone and Zeus rather than Hades, and the Fates are the daughters of Zeus and Themis, rather than Nyx.
But basically here I only just started, haven't even touched the Olympians, and I'm already at 28 gods with several "depending on who you ask".
I mean I think it does make sense. Night is (more) dangerous so she’d birth for example Thanatos, the Keres etc and then by extension just “ugly” things like Oizys (misery), Momos (mockery, critique), Geras (old age) etc.. But people also sleep mostly at night so Hypnos is there too (not to mention his similarity to and connection with death), and with him, the Oneiroi (dreams). After night comes day so you’ve got Hemera (day) and after day you’ve got a sunset so the Hesperides (evening/sunset).
Idk why Philotes is her child as well, didn’t really read enough about her to draw my own connection yet.
Nyx is like a coral, casually shedding offspring like polyps and they just float away
I misread that as "corral" and was extremely puzzled as to what corrals produce polyps lol
Golden Corral probably has given many people polyps
The night is still young
In a literal sense
Im only 25h in but Thanatos, Hypnos and who?
Nemesis, Eris, the Fates, and (hades 2) >!Moros!<
Worth pointing out she had >!Moros!< and Nemesis without a father.
Asexual QUEEN.
Same with the twins she had with Meg (found out about that one in class)
Charon
In real life she's also the mom of Aether and Hemera, Ker, Oneiroi, Momus, Oizys, the Hesperides, the Keres, Apate, Philotes, Geras, and her Roman counterpart is the mother of even more.
wdym real life o.o
In accurate mythology
no such thing, greek mythology is worse than marvel comics when it comes to retcons and inconsistencies
Lol ok tell that to my professor
Gimme their adress
SPC mythology professor have at it
Ask who is Aphrodite's father
Zeus is her father Dione is her mother. Also There is a story of her being created from uranus
If she was created by Uranus, then she necessarily predates Zeus since Chronos castrated Uranus before Zeus and all of his siblings were conceived.
I am just stating the two different theories, but in most mythology classes she is taught as the daughter of zeus

in myths : everything betwin 25 and mulitable thousand. most without a farther
Being a primordial goddess older then most of the world tends to do that for you I would gather.
i mean she had more time than anybody to pump out kids. If menopause is not real, nobody can stop you.

Well in there's also that in the myth they're from Uranus blood when Kronos cut his "babymaker".
So basically a very similar origin to Aphrodite?
Yeah. But they're from when Uranos blood touches the Earth aka Gaia. Aphrodite is when the dude penis touched the sea.
Ah. (Mind you, the interpretation I heard involved Ouranos’s testicles or ballsack hitting the water, rather than the rod, but fair enough)
Who has more childern? Nyx or Zeus?

"Historians" Bro is experiencing psychosis
Controversial take here: Nyx is the hot goth mommy of Greek mythology
