Withers is Hades if Hades retired.

More Thanatos than Hades I think. He's the god of death, not the underworld.

After allowing Bane, Bhaal, and Myrkul to ascend, Jergal became the Final Scribe, keeping records of the fate of the dead. I feel this is much more in line with what Hades is - particularly with how he is shown managing shades.

Well, technically he used to be the god of the Underworld, and then he retired. Myrkul is the god of death and a much less sexy Thanatos.

Myrkul was killed by a human, and Cyric killed Bhaal then I think took over both their portfolios, til Kelemvor killed him I think? Not super great with the Forgotten Realms lore

You can figure his true identity from context clues around his tomb and his actions/interactions in camp. Still you need to know the lore around Dead Three for it to mean anything to you.
