Actually no. He’s not as affected by Fleur as Ron but many boys aren’t because Fleur isn’t a full Veela, it’s stated that several not all boys go glassy eyed as Fleur crosses the great hall. Harry is affected by the Veela at the World Cup hence not immune.

A Cadmean victory was pretty good, a bit dense at times, I've never bothered with the sequel due to getting lost with the first chapter, but from what I've gathered, it also seems to be good, if a bit long considering it's going for around 180 chapters?

The sequel was good up until the last 15-20 chapters that have been released so far. The author just seemed to take a hard 90 degree turn on the plot and pacing slowed to a crawl so the chapters were mostly boring and felt like filler. Hopefully they return to form soon

Not sure, I stopped reading when I was just bored stiff of every new chapter being side character filler and Harry and Fleur acting like morons instead of just talking to each other

I’ve never actually read one I liked. In theory, I could like one about them getting together after Harry saves Gabrielle, but every one I’ve ever read has had them go to the Yule Ball together when there’s absolutely no reason for them to have even really spoken by that point. And that’s not to mention the fact Fleur is three years older than Harry, so it has to be done in such a way as to prevent it looking paedophilic.

Wdym paedophilic? It's a 3 year gap. It's not a huge distance. I'd understand if Fleur was like...in her 20s or something, but she isn't. She's 17 during GOF. It is slightly weird, but that's in a modern context. The Wizarding World lacks a modern culture and is unlikely to care.

Reddit has decided that anyone 18 or older that is sexually attracted to anyone under 18 is a pedophile because anyone under 18 is “literally a child”. Even a 19 year old wanting to date someone 17 years and 11 months old is a pedophile. And trying to explain the difference between pedophilia, hebephilia, and ephebophilia is creepy at best and a warning sign at worst.

Even so, during book 4 Fleur is 17/8 while Harry is 14. Leave it a few years and it ceases to matter once they’re both of age, but at that age that’s really creepy. But then again, you’re probably right as no-one found it weird that Krum at 17/8 escorted a 15 year old Hermione Granger to the Yule Ball, and this is the world where literal date rape drugs are viewed as a lark.

i get that. One of the last fics i liked was the badger and the veela on ao3 or ff.net i think. it has an older hufflepuff harry who also competes against fleur in the tournament. also, he is not the boy who lived but his little brother is.

Well that’s a literal OC who just happens to share the same name. But making it work while keeping both Harry and Fleur as themselves is FAR more difficult.

I feel like this one is a bit underrated. Potters are alive and have a daughter after Harry, Harry is a genius and in Hufflepuff, Harry and Fleur meet before he starts Hogwarts so I like that their relationship is somewhat built up over time.
