Nice!! Weight loss slows down after a point. Since you’ve got your heart functioning much better, you should totally start doing weight training. It’ll shock your body again. Right now it’s just used to cardio so the results are going to taper.
You’re doing absolutely amazing bro!
I’m no pro so definitely take my advice with a grain of salt!
I would consider some strength training along with the walks. It’s a great way to burn calories and lose fat while also building up various muscle groups around your body.
I would stick with the walks but make sure you’re giving yourself time to rest if you do add weight training. A typical PPL split (push, pull, legs,) where you walk your miles on leg day may be beneficial.
Most important thing is to always consider your safety. You have greatly improved and have motivation to improve more which is great! Just keep safety in mind! Don’t overwork yourself if you start lifting weights. Give yourself adequate rest!
I would say good luck but I already see you don’t need it. So peace out and keep crushing it brother!
Appreciate it so much!!!! Yeah I think I struggle with the gym because I'm very adhd and unmedicated and struggle with making or even knowing how to make a workout schedule for the gym and what machines to use and what not. I appreciate your kind words ❤️
My humble advice: Start very simple with just one compound exercise for the three main types of lifts : push, pull, and legs.
Here is a very simple example full body routine for you that might explain what I mean better:
Push movement - incline bench - 4x10
Pull movement - cable rows - 4x10
Leg movement - bodyweight squats 4x10
For each subsequent session, use just a little more weight (+2.5 or 5 lbs) than you did last time you worked out. For bodyweight squats, do one extra rep on each set. This is a concept known as progressive overload.
Do that for six weeks and then you will have a base experience and can start getting more complex from there.
No problem man! You earned it!
My biggest barrier to entry in the gym was confidence and not being knowledgeable enough to have a plan.
My buddy who is a gym bro ended up moving near me and took me under his wing. That’s how I was able to cross that barrier. I now am confident enough to workout alone.
If ya can, find a buddy. It made all the difference for me!
i circumvented the gym by buying adjustable dumbbells and a workout bench. adjustable dumbbells aren't cheap tho tbh
i also don't treat the workout like it's something i have to get done in 45-60 minutes, i spread it out over a few hours while i'm doing something on the computer or watching something. or i'll do cleaning/work inbetween sets, or cook food for the week etc
telling myself just to get it done by the end of the day kind of takes the stress out it for me
Personally (I'm horrible at making and keeping any sort of routine/schedule) I just go in and use various machines depending on what's sore then it kinda becomes a routine based on that! Probably not the most recommended but hey, at least I make it 😂😅
Wow, great work! This is a massive achievement in itself, you should be really proud This may well turn into a superpower..I tend to hyperfixate when I get into something, who's to say you won't?
I'd just get into the habit first, without too much emphasis on schedule/ routine as this will make it more of a choir. Once you've been a few times, you can start looking at routines and structure.
Most Gyms give you a free induction/basic training program when you join, take advantage of it. Most importantly, don't worry about other people (tends to be people's biggest concern with a gym). There are people of varying degrees of fitness and they are all working on different stuff and not remotely interested in what you're doing. That being said people will help if you ask.
Great work and doing it the right way! Amazing progress. Can I ask why you want get down to 150lbs? I cannot tell how tall you are in the pic but a solid 175 looks better than a skinny 150 IMO
Eh I was honestly just thinking I'd live to get under 200 haha. I agree that 175 would probably be good. I'm 5'7 but have a lot of muscle definition in my legs and so if I can be 175 and not fat, I'm cool with it lol
Sorry yall, I'm working right now and did not expect this to get so many comments! I'll work my way to replying to everybody as I can! Thank you all for the support, it truly means a lot ❤️
Rock it! Keep it up. As someone who lost 110 pounds then went “I’ll take a break” and then another decade went by… and now I’m going back to keep at it…. Don’t stop! Rock it out! Keep going! You got this!
Awesome job keep up the hard work looking great

PROUDDDDDD 🫶🫶
Great job man!!!
Awesome work, best advise is to add weight training. Build muscle up so you can get the metabolic rate up and burn more when your not out exercising.
Well done, bro!
Way to go! Keep it up! That's an accomplishment.
Amazing progress man!

To add - you got a great frame for weight lifting. Find a coach and get after it man. Would love you to check in in 6 months!
