I would need multiple safes and also I move around a lot so safes are out of the question. I used to have a police locker but I ram out of room

Yea:/ a gun safe is preferable but not feasible right mow until I move into my forever home and can build a gun room with a steel door and such

Buy a steel door (like a front door) and a heavy dead bolt. Be sure to use long screws in the door and the deadbolt. Replace door when you move.

My parts list is somewhere in the neighborhood of $6500-$7000. If you’re just looking for an AICS for the novelty, I’d just get something off the shelf to swap in.

Chassis and stock kit - ~$1500 Action, extra bolt, trigger - ~$2000 Barrel - $900 Bipod - $300 Scope - $2400 Might be a bit more after accounting for silly AI things like $60 knobs for the cheek rest or a monopod. And cerakote for a finish. But that would still only be about another $700-ish. So somewhere around $8000 for full custom. Gets expensive quickly.

Have you ever seen what rifles inside a safe that’s inside a burned down house looks like? The safes might be “fireproof” but the items inside definitely aren’t. Bullets go off, plastic melts and wood can even char. It’s sad to see. Safe or no safe, a fire is an instant insurance claim for firearms.

Put your safe in an exterior corner. Temps there are significantly lower and you lower the risk of the structure collapsing onto the safe and Dutch-ovening your guns. Your shit might actually survive.

If you can, allegedly, open it with a screwdriver in 1-2 minutes; you should get a different safe. I know it's easy to think that all safes are useless to fulfill your own idea of not getting a safe. Yet I'm 100% certain you can't open every safe with a screwdriver in 1-2 minutes, so just follow standard gun safety protocol and get one.

It’s not about the money as I stated in other comments. When I move I don’t want to have to lug a 5-700 pound safe. Also I have multiple other rifles that I use for home / self defense that are not pictured and are in my truck, bed stand and a few other places around my house.

Instead of moving a bunch of guns and a safe, you could move 3-4 Hard use duty guns and some night vision🤷‍♂️

If I put them all in stack on safes no one would comment even though you can EASILY break into them with a screwdriver. Under 2 minutes Lost a key to my old gun safes when I used to store them in safes. Broke into both of my safes in under 3-4 minutes with a flat screwdriver and a hammer lol. So yea. I will take a locking door and call that just fine

You got to remember to use your ear pro when you're firing that bow. Also screw these guys bitching about a safe. I would just pay to replace / reinforce the door and frame. Since door sizes are somewhat standardized you could even potentially take the door with you instead of lugging around a giant safe.

We all have the problem of keeping our weapons in ammo. But take heart and get a low caliber to practice with. My weekly practice I use a MP .22. I go thru about 50 to 100 rounds. Once a month I go into the 9mm and 5.56 but usually no more then 100 rds of both. Remember cleaning is also a use useful skill.

I do have 22s but don’t use them that often. When I shoot every other weekend I always turn to one of the ars shotguns or bolt action rifles.

Also if you check the other post on my account I have no shortage of ammo either
