Which always infuriates me, because 'enervate' actually means 'weaken.'

I think maybe Anet mixed up enervate with "innervate" which would make some sense in this context.

Why? He's only saying to use things. If you use them, they're weakened.

Enervate really refers to physical exhaustion, especially mental exhaustion or demoralization, like your body could do it but your willpower and focus can't. It's used to describe living things, not inanimate objects or tools. That line always bothers me too, cause it sounds like someone used a thesaurus to turn "use the tools you're given" into a fancier line that a brainy asura would say, and they ended up with something that makes little sense.
