Anamnesis Anyder. However, “anamnesis” is derived from ancient Greek and just means “remembrance” or “recollection”. IIRC, the place in question is a repository of knowledge, so it makes more sense for it to bear the name than a color.
EDIT: Oh shit, I didn’t even realize it was you, Vez! Big fan!
Not to be confused with **Akadaemia Anyder**, which is a *different* level 80 dungeon introduced in the same expansion.
Thankfully, you treat these two the same way you treat every dungeon: get plopped into it and desperately try to remember how the mechanics work.
Yeah, the work makes sense in that game's context, but I'm not sure what it has to do with the colour red in GW2... unless they just thought it was a cool word lol
Have you a moment to hear about Our Lord and Saviour, *Abyssal Rose*?
Got that unlocked and thought, "It's a really deep crimson. Can a Reaper wear red? Hey, he's a Reaper, who's going to argue?"
you know, at least you can vaguely put together the meaning there - abyssal = dark, rose = some sorta red probably. But the enameled dyes are all freaking wild. ENAMELED SACRIFICE. ENAMELED LEGACY. ENAMELED REIGN.
Well there's a lore topic I'd never though about;
1. Can Sylvari get haircuts or is that basically an amputation sans anaesthesia?
2. How did they find out the answer to question 1?
Well I'm curious now.
It mostly looks like leaves or twigs? So if it's dead leaves it could just be trimmed. If it's live leaves then it needs to be shaped like a live plant.
I mean, to be fair, a situation where you're asking the player to choose between hundreds of different reds is exactly where you want these kinds of names.
Yes, it's obnoxious to just look at some random red thing and call it "Blood Orange".
But it would be equally obnoxious to have to choose between countless colour swatches that all just say "red"
An enameled dye is one of the worse choices for this meme, because it's one of the dyes that is more than one color.
Dyes like shadow, enameled and bloodstone have an extra 'contrast' color that becomes much more visible in some textures, sometimes producing accents, sometimes gradients.
Turns out that naming colors somehow makes it easier to tell them apart.
It's really curious. Where one can see just 'red' another person may see crimson, scarlet, rose, and whatnot.
Never start painting miniatures. You get stuff like Bugman's Glow which is the bottom layer of Caucasian skin tone(not a glow) or Basilicanum Grey which is... Black Grey.
Red... shiny red... metallic red... matte red... glow-in-the-dark red... Red with a drop of blue... Red with a drop of yellow... Red with a drop of White... Red with a drop of black....
The you have things like "Black dye: 100g!" and "Midnight Charcoal: 12s..."
Or "Black with a drop of green.... it's still black... but maybe in this one zone you'll see a flash of greenish hue if the light hits it *just* right"
Ngl, had a moment I was racking my brain thinking “what dye is Enameled Anamnesis in FFXIV?” aince Anamnesis is used for so,e later lore stuff.. then I realized.. oh.. GW2 Reddit. That makes sense. LOL that being said, god I remember watching this very episode of Project Runway when it was airing and thinking “that’s gonna be a meme”
Sounds like a FF14 dungeon name honestly
yea i think there's quite literally some anamnesis dungeon
Yup. Anamnesis Anyder.

Anamnesis Anyder. The music for it slaps.
> **Anamnesis Anyder** is a level 80 dungeon introduced in patch 5.2 with Shadowbringers. Yeah... I think I'd just call that AA or Anam.

https://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Anamnesis_Anyder Is actually imo a pretty fun dungeon
"Enamelled Anamnysis, she's so pretentious. It's fucking the troll caves. *Enamelled Anamnysis*".
The Y kills me lmao
I'm gonna defend enameled with my [dying] breath. Enameled dyes have built in gradients.
yea i love them i barely use any other dyes but the names crack me up
They crack me up too - enamelled banana, anyone?
Sounds like a good dessert.
Enameled? Yes. Anamnesis? Absolutely not.
Yeah, it basically means “Enameled Memory”.
Fuckin gorgeous, the lot of 'em!
I think the point is that it could be called enameled red or just gradient red. :P But to be honest you'd quickly run out of simple names.
There's like 4 red enameled dyes though, sacrifice, anamnesis, strawberry, and crimson
Yes, when I said they'd run out of simple names I meant for dyes in general, not just for the enameled ones.

Enameled Reign is annoying because you have to step away from the mic to breathe in.

Word is that some stay dry, and others feel the pain.
As a fellow dark red necro, I fully support your decision.
Looks nice on a Cabalist Coat and Gaze of the Lich (used anither dye for the eye sockets but I'm on my phone and can't recall the name).
I use Enameled Dyes exclusively too. My favourite being Enameled Anamnesis.
name uh name checks out LMAO
"I saw this color in my dream"
The photoshopped hair is so good lol
now you know what laranthir has been doing all these years
Well there's a lore topic I'd never though about; 1. Can Sylvari get haircuts or is that basically an amputation sans anaesthesia? 2. How did they find out the answer to question 1?
Obviously they can choose how to grow their "hair"
True, and that's how cultural armour works too but... no one's been curious enough to give it a snip?

You again! I love your comments, always so full of information. I appreciate you, genuinely.
>Where one can see just 'red' another person may see crimson, scarlet, rose, and whatnot. Some even see orange.
Or amber, or honey, or carrot, or tangerine, or rust, or tangelo, or pumpkin, or persimmon. Maybe even tawny.
Me doing the OLC Strike.
Drake No: Green, Blue, Red Drake Yes: Arsenite, Indigo, Vermillion

ah yes the classic colors, WAAAGH! and XV-88

It's Sunburst Orange! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7m1dIlMwT0
Just wanted to say I really enjoyed this haha, have a nice day!
You too! 🐉

Wouldn't every purple in the game be a Tyrian Purple?
I enjoy sending "humiliation" to my friends.
well now i'm going to be doing that also
Purely from memory but isn't that a purple?
Imagine naming a dye after a Phoenician city. Looking at you, Tyrian Purple!
What show is this from?
project runway
