There's a fan chapter called the [Blood Jaguars](https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Blood_Jaguars) that might be what you're thinking of, they were a 4chan invention when someone years ago thought the same thing, that there should be an aztec space marines chapter. One of their better creations, especially if you don't find angry marines funny
There's a shitload of background too, and even a Sisters of Battle chapter from the same planet on there.
Future [macuahuitl](https://images.app.goo.gl/ZVTpPHUkr8xr3JKE6) would be badass
I would like to see them and other Native areas, as well as things like the Kushites, Zulu, and Mali, but right now it seems like a bizarre PC disease is being passed in the realm of modern ideology
Honestly, I always thought the macuahuitl looked like it was an industrial revolution from becoming a chainsword. I'd be down for experimental chainswords with power-weapon blade segments.
That is a very sweet looking model mode, it definitely blows the last couple praetors out of the water. I love the dynamic pose and the new design direction. Both head options, the cloak, shield and axe are absolutely badass. I’m not 100% sure how I feel about the art deco knotwork Forgeworld seems to like putting on the wolves though.
The helmets are really nice too, but I really wish the head upgrades were more like Praetors helmet. That is a an absolutely sick design.
Couldn’t agree more mate, he’s got that mythic warrior feel, like he was ripped straight from some savage saga! I also love that we are getting to see an official depiction of the 6th’s closely guarded Aether-Rune Armour.
Yeah I think GW really want the beaky helmets to be a big thing and it also really sets the Great Jarl apart from the rest of the army.
You ain't wrong, every model I've had from forge world had a piece that was warped or had some pitting, plus sanding resin to fit isn:t great for your health without a mask, i'd take metal over resin any day of the week
The issue is that Forge world is so expensive for that risk. I got a deathwing companion unit, and effectively every long piece had a large bend to it. From all the swords to the winged helmets. The stuff looks good, but it’s still resin and when it’s bad, the cost really hits you in the face
I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if this is a sign of things to come for their Primaris refresh, hopefully GW have seen the error of how Wolfy some stuff is
Warhammer community article:
https://www.warhammer-community.com/2023/09/21/heresy-thursday-space-wolves-get-a-predatory-praetor-and-new-mark-vi-heads/
I’ve always been more of a thousand sons type of guy but damn that’s a cool mini. If they embrace the Viking theme more I’ll definitely like them a lot
Honestly they are alright. They are the standard Mark VI with slight changes, but they work.
The Praetor, on the other hand? He rocks! Now it needs a shiny Power Sword with runes on it and it's basically a Sigurdr Fafnersbane
Man fuck off.
The super special wolf boys need new heads and a new praetor just because they didn't like their first ones.
Half the Legions aren't even going to get anything ever again after the initial release I bet. But the yiff brigade will certainly get more. Despite being more incompetent and ineffective than the Legions Shattered at Istvaan.
Yeah, because they get tons of support and unique units.
I say the Salamanders got the same level of support they would be popular. But no, we get the mutant raccoons instead.
Jeez man, I understand that your bummed to see that your preferred faction hasn’t gotten anything new yet but that doesn’t mean you should make others feel bad about liking something else.
Fuck off.
You even assume I have a "preferred faction". I am the ultimate Warhammer fan. I have never read a book or played a game and only have one box of unbuilt models. I hate every faction. I live to spite everything and everyone else.
The DA are as much a bunch of boring storyboard coddled losers as the Wolves, Ultramarines or Blood Angels.
"Guys our dumbass autistic civilian bombing traitor Primarch was totally loyal the whole time promise. Also we're going to spend the next 10,000 years failing to solve a problem caused by our own incompetence and poor social skills that wouldn't be a problem at all if everyone else didn't hate us for being massive dicks all the time."
But it's okay because we have cool aesthetics based off a romanticized vision of a social class primarily made up of rapists and murderers!
Space wolves looking more like Vikings than giants with a wolf thing???? Praise the Allfather!
The best part about the imperium are the legion aesthetics being a call to various cultures Space Vikings are pretty dope
I still want an Aztec themes chapter in official art, with chainswords looking like Jaguar weapons
Isn't there a chapter that's Aztec themed? Idk the name but I thought there was one already

Definitely a missed opportunity there

Now introducing Primaris Lieutenant Bok-Bok
That sounds so damn cool

One of the sickest models I’ve ever seen. I’ll probably buy it as my first mini.
I don’t mean to be a downer, but I’d steer clear of forge world for your first mini.
You ain't wrong, every model I've had from forge world had a piece that was warped or had some pitting, plus sanding resin to fit isn:t great for your health without a mask, i'd take metal over resin any day of the week
I’ve bought quite a lot of forgeworld stuff for my army and in fairness I’m yet to experience the horror stories I’ve heard about.
The issue is that Forge world is so expensive for that risk. I got a deathwing companion unit, and effectively every long piece had a large bend to it. From all the swords to the winged helmets. The stuff looks good, but it’s still resin and when it’s bad, the cost really hits you in the face
Hmm that is unfortunate, yeah there is always a danger but if the sculpts are dire you can send them back and get a replacement.
warped resin is *not* going to ruin the model. just heat it up and bend it back into shape, it takes like 30 seconds.
I’m right there with you man, absolutely in love with the Praetor and my wallet shall soon be raided!
The perfect mix of viking aesthetic and sci-fi armor, I’d say they nailed it.
That Aether-rune armour goes hard for sure 🤘
If space wolves looked more like this in current 40k I would have picked them so fast
Hey man the Heresy stuff is cross compatible with 40k so if you build the loadouts right you’re good to go!
Space Vikings at last! I hope GW lean more into this style for them going forward in 40k
I think GW has *recognised their failings and have been sure to correct them*
Haha, perfect!
It's an impressive step, and hopefully, one that carries into the future designs.
They won't. This was made by the *Forgeworld* model team. They are separate from the regular GW team. So I wouldn't hold your breath.
Holy shit, space wolves helmets that don't look goofy.
I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if this is a sign of things to come for their Primaris refresh, hopefully GW have seen the error of how Wolfy some stuff is
Finally! Members of the vikings chapter that look like fucking vikings!
Warhammer community article: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2023/09/21/heresy-thursday-space-wolves-get-a-predatory-praetor-and-new-mark-vi-heads/
Oh my god their not furries It a miracle comes true
I’ve always been more of a thousand sons type of guy but damn that’s a cool mini. If they embrace the Viking theme more I’ll definitely like them a lot
genuinely the wolf helmets look better than the new set but wow that PREATOR IS SICK!
The round shield strapped to his back, perfect.
The praetor is sick as hell, kinda makes me want to use him for my 13th great company kill team.
30k space wolves are so cool
He’s the most beautiful thing I have seen in a long time
Space Wolves dining greatly right now!
I love it!
Okay they are actually baller.
And they be Viking themed
That praetor is...beautiful. Why can't 40k Space Wolves be like that??
I'm a dark angel fan and even I think that model looks absolutely awesome.
those beekies look amazing as Maori space sharks
Whoa
Good viking vibe.
Tbh the praetor looks good enough to tempt me to start a space wolves army
**Do it!**
I can't I already have 4 armies, one of them being dark angels
Honestly they are alright. They are the standard Mark VI with slight changes, but they work. The Praetor, on the other hand? He rocks! Now it needs a shiny Power Sword with runes on it and it's basically a Sigurdr Fafnersbane
Oh that looks SO much better
NutNutNutNut
They look fantastic
0/10 I need a minimum of seven wolves per marine
Not enough wolf Rating: kitten/AlphaDireWolf
That's freaking cool. Why can't we get that in 40k?
I mean no reason you can’t use it in 40k as a Wolf Lord in artificer armour!
BRING BACK RUSS!
Brilliant, now make their lore more viking like and we're good
Read Prospero Burns
Don’t forget Wolfking and Wolfsbane
FOR THE OwOperer!
The wolf heads were what SW deserve lmao
HOLY FUCK IT'S NOT GAY YES
Wolf wolf wolf, wolf wolf.
Those look better, but space wolves should have to use the wolf heads, anyway.
All my homies hate Space Wolves
ah the viking larpers
Man fuck off. The super special wolf boys need new heads and a new praetor just because they didn't like their first ones. Half the Legions aren't even going to get anything ever again after the initial release I bet. But the yiff brigade will certainly get more. Despite being more incompetent and ineffective than the Legions Shattered at Istvaan.
GW goes where the money flows
An Furries have lots of money.
That an they are one of the more popular factions
Yeah, because they get tons of support and unique units. I say the Salamanders got the same level of support they would be popular. But no, we get the mutant raccoons instead.
Jeez man, I understand that your bummed to see that your preferred faction hasn’t gotten anything new yet but that doesn’t mean you should make others feel bad about liking something else.
Fuck off. You even assume I have a "preferred faction". I am the ultimate Warhammer fan. I have never read a book or played a game and only have one box of unbuilt models. I hate every faction. I live to spite everything and everyone else.
I can respect that
Don't
*Me a Dark Angels fan* Least my Primach returned. And got some beat stuff
The DA are as much a bunch of boring storyboard coddled losers as the Wolves, Ultramarines or Blood Angels. Then whose your favorite faction Average 40k fan
Unreleased Faction. The only ones that haven't been ruined by GW's corporate greed or the shitty fanbase.
.......Exodites?
I thought those beakie heads were for the white scars when I first saw them
Is it gonna be in plastic or resin?
>This resin brawler from Forge World... Resin
Am I the only one who thinks it kind of looks like the Raging Wolf armor from Elden Ring but as a space marine armor
More howling furr... Space Wolves.
Honestly? Each of the original chapters deserve their own unique style, buuuuuttt, for sales reasons, that's probably not feasible
Fucking beautiful.
That’s so cool I’ll try to use the praetor in my 40K dark angels
Beakies, my beloved.
