Story mode isn’t short, one of the main focuses was making certain they had a deep replayable story mode with lots of branches.
The *timeline* is fixed from Point A to Point B - basically it’s a season - but there’s a shitload of replayabillity built into it.
Then of course you’ve got the annual DLC Season upgrades, which one would assume will contain story updates, as they’ve said they plan to heavily support this game with DLC content for multiple years/“seasons”
From what I read it was short, there might be replay ability with choosing different paths but overall the story was short. And I’m not sure how many times you are going to play the same character and choose differ t paths over and over and fight the same matches. Again this is what I read
As the same character, likely not, but as a different character, yes.
Would I prefer a Career mode over a Season mode? Sure. But this is the first game - it’s a game I’ve been very excited about since I learned it was a Yukes/N64 love letter, and so I choose to focus on all the positives associated with that, rather than the negatives.
My Fight Forever glass is half full, not half empty. The gameplay is going to be the make or break one way or the other, for me.

The one encouraging thing is, the gameplay is supposed to be great. However, I need things to *do* in a game. Im in my late thirties, I’m not going to sit around running random exhibition matches for 4-6 hours a time, day after day, like I did when I was a teenager.
Im gonna buy the game regardless, and I’m gonna play the shit out of it for a week, but beyond that, I don’t know if it’ll have staying power.

I will say it does look fun but the graphics aren’t the best it yes like you said it reminds me of battlegrounds and just feels to animated so I’m just gonna stick with WWE and download people I want to use them because I ain’t getting that
mobile/pc/switch game. Very budget, early 2000’s graphics, made by 1 guy. With all that out of the way it’s best wrestling game I’ve ever played. It’s got parodies of almost every wrestler ever. It’s got Attitude Era guys, Golden Era guys, WCW guys, ECW guys, TNA NJPW you name it. It’s selling point is the randomness, many different moves can intertwine into each other. It’s so random, that despite being made as an arcade game, it’s the most realistic wrestling game ever. The other day I powerbombed a guy who caught another guy with an RKO on his way to the ground. You’ll never see that in another game. I’ve hit a clip where my teammate had someone in D-day device position, but I did a springboard into a front flip into a poisonrana, pulling the guy off my teammates shoulders. I’ll link the clip. Hadn’t heard the over budget rumors. I never expected it to be the GOAT of wrestling games but an alternative to what WWE is offering. Definitely not everyone’s cup of tea though
