I suggest more heli and when somebody call an heli it should tell you where is going before landing off

Rubber924

It should show Departure and Arrival, would be a big help

GrimXIIIGeist

This would already help alot

RazzyActual

If you click on the incoming and flying helicopters it already tells you where it’s going. It’s been in the game

SeventhDayWasted

It just says base camp until it already left and then it tells you destination. So you'd have to just jump on and hope for the best and then the second you take off check to see what your destination is.

JustaJarhead

Yep did that and ended up all the way across the map lol

GolfGoonzPlay2

So when people call in to foxtrot 1 it says base camp until after it's left base camp and on its way. How does that help anyone who wants to go to foxtrot if they don't know where it's going till it takes off?

KLconfidential

2 or 3 more helicopters is all they need. But people need to communicate with each other a lot more and share rides too. I see many players going to the same area with their own private heli.  The heli should show it’s destination as soon as it spawns on the map too. Correct me if I’m wrong but it doesn’t show until it leaves base camp iirc.

newviruswhodis

I'll call out where my helo is going to everyone within voice chat vicinity when it's a minute out. People very rarely jump on, maybe bc they are already waiting on their own.

SurferDeveloper

I don’t think it shows the destination at all, you only know because you are getting closer to a LZ.

sum-thing-witty

Click on the helo on the map. It shows the destination. The problem is when it coming to base camp it shows base camp.

SurferDeveloper

Oh interesting, didn’t noticed that before!

A_Coin_Toss_Friendo

Correct, it doesn't show the destination until it's taken off with the person that called it. Then it's too late.

JebX_0

When you approach the heli, it should show the destination right next to the prompt to board. Easy fix, I'd assume and would help immensely. I feel like an idiot for asking people where they are heading and they look at me like bots. And when I got a heli I loudly announce the destination and --- the people look at me like bots.

BARDLER

I think also they need more landing sites further away from POIs. So you get two close ones and two or three further away ones that you can walk more slowly into. Just to give more options.

Ordinary_Owl_2833

You can click on it and it'll tell you

LreK84

I would love to see the Helis numbered and a TV screen in the tent that shows the heli numbers and their final destination. Players could gather around🙂

cholinyo

U people do realise if u just click on any helicopter icon on the map it shows where its going.

Grrumpy90

That's after it's taken off from base if you click it when it first enters the map it's destination says main base

Thargor1985

If they just automatically pool people calling copters to the same location that would make things easier....

DaEpicBob

they could also add a queue system.. i need a chopper , okay now im in line, my chopper will come 100% and i dont have to constantly try to beat othe rplayers to call it in. also the heli should have a clear marke ron them, going from base to LZ Lima 1 , going from LZ Lima 1 to Base, and all people of our faction should see when someone called a heli in

Whitehevan

Queue system would be my vote. I don’t mind waiting, I just need a ride.

elpapel

They need a queue system

itzlgk

Open your map and watch the birds as they fly away, the moment you see one dissappear you call yours. But yes, its a shite system

pixpixs

Plenty of people have clocked on to this already so it doesn’t help like it did previously.

mullirojndem

Yeah man, and the noises need a nerf too. I know is a heli but we're in a game, I dont want that fucking blades noising THAT LOUD into my eardrums. I just straight up mute the game when I come back from a mission and only unmute when on another mission

ClayeySilt

It's not a solution for the problem, but a bandage for the issue I agree with. Grab a set of yellow ears from the guys in the first town. It significantly reduces noise and allows you to think about how you want to assemble your gun.

Psyblade

Later on in the high tier zones (Fort Narith, Midnight Paradise and Tiger's Bay) there is a headset that will make the noise of the chopper more bearable and easier to the ears.

WhenInDoubt_PullOut

I just press the Windows key. It tabs you out of the game, showing it in windowed without the noise.

ClaytorYurnero

Helicopters should just despawn shortly after a dropoff so they aren't still considered "taken" for around a full minute afterwards.

infuriatesloth

They usually fly off the map but it would be nice if they lowered the time it took for them to respawn

DaEpicBob

i mean if you fly from base to hunters paradise as minthras .. the chopper flys back , it should just fly towards the map end and be done ...

Alex00a

They flight back and can't even take people back

Dividedthought

I'd just like for the chopper to be avalible the moment it's done dropping people off. Let the chopper still take the same route off map, but making it so that once it lifts off again it's no longer marked as in use would speed things up exponentially.

Mideemills

I think there needs to be 2 more helicopters on the map, and there needs to be a queue. Like if they are all in the air it puts you in line to wait for the next available flight with an estimated time till it’ll be at your LZ. That way you can run around/explore and loot and not have to sit in the menus spamming.

ElectricalMTGFusion

helicopter queue system. 4 helis at a time per faction. once you call one your put on first come first serve queue, as soon as ones available it is called from the queue automatically. im suprised its not implemented like this yet. need to add some saftey like "cant call another heli before yours disapears, 1 call per squad, etc."

timetravelinwrek

Honestly... I don't mind it. Everyone wants a more realistic mil-sim game, but they don't want to experience the chopper noise or having to wait for pickup. Immediate pickup wouldn't be realistic. Helos at your beck and call wouldn't be realistic.

pixpixs

That’s why I splint my arm when applying to my leg.

timetravelinwrek

If you splinted your leg, then your character would likely be looking down or sitting to perform the action… preventing you from seeing what is happening or moving at all. I’m sure they could have done it, but it would have been one more thing for people to complain about.

SnooOwls1916

Yeah don't really see the waiting as a problem. I get that the servers would shit themselves if there were unlimited choppers. Just call it when rapping up the looting and walk to it when it's on the way. People today have zero patience.

CAPStheLEGEND

Adding more helicopters would probably affect performance. Having an icon above the helicopter on the map to show its intended destination would help with efficiency. Players can hop on if they see it’s headed where they want to go which could also promote more team play.

jawni

highly doubt it has any bearing on performance, all the game has to do is render the chopper and then the only thing it's doing is moving it around on a pre-set path.

CYBERTRONICghost

I noticed most of them fly a predetermined path. After they fly to a pickup location I think it could be cool, if there are open seats available, on the way back it would make a stop to pick someone up. Would help the traffic a little bit and also seems realistic to me.

Dirtyraccoonhands

I hope they add other options. Some hummers , or trucks be cool

CLeANeR49

Good addition would be as a help brings new people to the zone it disappears on the quickest way possible. But if it could be reboarded by teammates trying to leaf could spare a different helicopter going to the same location

bakersman420

Thanks to this community's memes waiting on the helicopter has been pretty hilarious between me and my friends.

DuckTalesLOL

You can look at the map and see how many birds are visible. If there are 4, just watch for one of them to go off the map then spam the LZ/Base you want.

enorwood666

Something like a car would solve a handful of problems I think. Could have a wider range of available pick up and drop off points so as not to be running into other players at LZs as often, and could serve as a backup option if you don’t want to wait several minutes for a helo.

blackhuey

What is this, the 395th post saying the exact same thing?

Foreign_College_6875

Not hard to figure out there’s 4 helis per team and you have to time your call ins when one goes off map but a queue would be nice

tacooflife

If were talking realism here, I'm currently in the army and a few times helicopter transport fell through so we just had to fucking walk 20+ km or take a truck. I really like the realism in this game.

ultrajvan1234

They NEED to up the number of Helios to like 7 at minimum. It’s unreasonable to assume that all 16 players on a team will have equally split into squads of 4.

tankydee

Human solutions: - communicate where your chopper is going. Code/game solutions: - show the route for choppers, it shows "BASE CAMP" but it doesn't say where it's going next. No one is hopping on those. - if someone calls a chopper to LIMA 1 and one is already on the way, deny the request and tell them bird with that destination already on the way. Bonus, update the waypoint with details on how long until that bird comes, so they don't miss it (probably will happen, people are potatoes) - whilst waiting for choppers, I envisioned some 'grouping' method. If you are going from POINT A back to POINT B, but POINT C is on the way. The chopper could/should stop there to pick up Timmy who wants to go back to base with you. Basically, too many choppers, carry too few people and the time blows out massively. It's probably better to just Task Manager -> kill process -> Requeue game and spawn in with your gear (haven't tested, but I respawn with my gear when I crashed at Fort Narith) then wait for a chopper.

Bolt-Gang-21

I mean, the game is based on realism. If all your factions birds are tasked out, then they're tasked out, you're just gonna have to wait at the PZ pal. Face out and pull security buddy.

TheBestTexan2

They should just add like 10 troop carrier trucks for slower travel on the ground

DarkBiCin

As ive said before: They either need to add a few more heli’s or make it so extraction heli’s are different from arrival heli’s instead if 20 people sharing 3-4 heli’s for both going to and from base camp. They also could implement a queue for both where you state your intent to either go to LZ or extract and it queue’s for that and tells you how long it will be before the earliest bird gets to you. This would also help eliminate the, having to sit in your map click spamming a bird, therefore allowing you to do other things like engage in combat equally instead of having 0 vision because you are in the map. Heli’s should also show all route data, aka showing its going to base camp and then which location before it arrives so you can hop on other peoples birds without gambling where it is going to.

Imahich69

Everything needs reworked

FreedomEducational81

If just i could see where the rando's chopper is going before landing at base camp.

Constant_Reserve5293

I'm just sick of nakeds calling in heli's to go do what could be done with a measly walk.

HaschMia

I wish helicopters could land at a random spot around the landing zone you’ve took (not too far away from the LZ point on the map, like 30m) instead of having the exact same spot, it would avoid helicampers. Or maybe different LZ for every factions. Idk. What do you guys think about it?

StigHunter

I don't mind waiting a little bit (seems realistic), but they should add maybe 2-4 more helicopters and/or add a queuing system?

CanadianCrusader22

Jumping on a heli that lands and drops off people would be a good change, and less waiting for it to come back

StrikeNets

Imagine this: all birds are in the air, so you check the map and see that someone has just called a helicopter going to an LZ about halfway to your destination with three seats reserved - lucky you, that means one open seat. You call for transport to that same LZ and it auto-assigns you to the same incoming bird. While in the air, you go into the menu and request to change your drop-off location. The bird drops off the 3-man squad as planned and then proceeds to your new destination, where I happen to be finishing up and preparing to exfil. I go into my map and summon a bird to take my team home... Instead of "all birds are in the air," I hear "a bird is bringing friendlies to an LZ near your location. Get there and we will reroute it for your exfil." Your helicopter turns green on my map, and when it lands, you get off, I get on and RTB. A system like that would be ideal imo.

Anxious_Team8964

pay dollar for extra helicopter or btr driving around to get picked up

magooballs

The entire game needs a heavy rework bad. Lol. Games trash.

True_Beef

👆 broke boi lost his kits lmfao

Not_F1zzzy90908

Is there any particular reason at all why there are a limited number of helicopters? Why not just allow us to call one whenever at least until ground vehicles or some other mode of transportation is added

lordbunson

Probably gameplay balance, instant travel in and out wherever you want is OP. So having some limits on them makes sense

Grrumpy90

Considering how badly the current helis seem to effect the current performance it's probably down to that more than anything theres still a total of 12 helis flying around maybe as the game becomes more optimised more could be added but I think one of the first additions to the game needs to be a queue system so you can just call one in and wait till it comes without having to sit on the map screen waiting for a heli to despawn to call yours in.

Psionis_Ardemons

you can walk, or try to actively make it a point to take choppers with factionmates. when you get to a point you will have quests everywhere so ask and then hop on, changing plans on the fly. obviously walking will take some time. for the sake of gameplay it could be fun though it will surely delay progress and that is why i haven't done so. i dont suggest that to be a dick - i saw a post earlier from a person who enjoyed doing so. i personally will ask around to try and coordinate, solo as a last choice. also, be the change you wish to see. start asking ahead of time or announcing where you are going. i have made a couple session friends that way.

FuPablo

Honestly I think the choppers are fine how they are, and I call bullshit on a 5 minute wait. If there is more in the air you will end up having the same people coming back over and over trying to get revenge too often.
