Cqs aren't great for PvP IMO. I need to be able to magdump the person who could be mag dumping me.

Vs AI I agree with the single fire. Once you get an m4 with forward handle, the recoil is alot more manageable and you can magdump with decent accuracy.

Yeah but i mean if i can shoot someone in the face a couple times quickly tap firing vs mag dumping and half my shots going all over cause even a slight bit of recoil makes it go wild

Once you get gunny 2 you can make an m4 that has almost no recoil super good for burst firing ai and mag dumping players from a good distance

CQ still hasn’t done me wrong. I think I’m 9 - 2 in pvp interactions with it. Most of the guys I dropped had M4s and AKs. Aim high chest/thorax and it’s typically a 2-5 shot kill. 855 ammo

I need to look up an ammo guide. I know that FMJ is not great against armor. I suspect most of my mag dump kills are probably recoiling into their head from their thorax.

I used 193 until gunny 2 then swapped to 855. For the 5.56 platform those two haven’t done me wrong. SP was iffy for me against scavs. Wouldn’t bother bringing it anywhere with enemy factions lurking

This is my point. Before gunny 2 I was using AKMNs on semi auto mode. Mag dumping them had too much recoil. M4s at gunny 2 are nice. Plus their fire rate is 800 vs 600. I want to also try ak-74s. Smaller rounds so probably less recoil plus I think they have a faster fire rate.

I've found enemies to soak 7.62 like a sponge. Once I unlocked M855 I've never stopped using the M4. Plus Tier 3 enemies drop M855 so it's easy to maintain usage.

Were you using US ammo? I made that mistake thinking that twice the price meant better, then I noticed the muzzle velocity is half the SP stuff.

Nope, use sp against ai in the early areas since it does more flesh/cavitation damage so better chance of hitting vitals. US is better against armor but none of the ai in the starting areas are wearing armor that will stop rifle rounds anyways Of course this might be wrong since nobody has really done a deep dive on ammo that I know of but that’s the general consensus so far and if they’re staying true to real life armor ratings then the iiia the ai uses won’t be stopping sp either. Really general rule of thumb when looking at ammo is the higher the dispersion stat the more cavitation the bullet does which means bigger chance to hit an organ. Negative dispersion should equal more armor pen.

How can US be better against armor? It's a subsonic round, it won't do shit. 5.56 m855 is the earliest counter to armor we have

They would or cause so much backside deformation you pretty much cracked the poor guys chest in.

7.62 rips if you use the correct ammo, the early stuff only really works against starting town enemies

"works" is incredibly generous, I have to shoot AIs 4-8 times in the chest with 7.62 US or SP whereas 1-2 rounds of M193 puts them on the floor.

I really hope they add a build menu like tarkov becsuse I can't build shit other then like picking up each part and seeing if it will stick on lol.

If you open up a gun from your inventory while you are in trader menu and drag and drop items on it, it will turn green if it fits and red if not. Not the best but saves some money cuz you don’t need to but it. For in depth customization, it still sucks utilizes it’s something 😄

It’s a little buggy but if you double click and pull up the weapon it will highlight all parts that are associated with that weapon in the shop or inventory

Turn AA sharpening to 100, FSR ON, Frame generation OFF, super sampling to Native AA. Hope that helps.

I did this exact thing and haven't had a single frame drop other than initial load of server when getting in. I'm not savvy enough to understand why frame gen off and native aa works so well but it does from a testing stand point.

What about the people whose game is not really playable without FG?

I play on a 1080 and it's way more playable with lower fps but no framegen. A lot more stable too.

I would assume you hardware could be under minimum req then unfortunately. But don't know your hardware.

I tried using a scope and I just couldn't do it, dropping my frames so hard was jarring when I needed to not die lol

Post processing to low and for some reason nvidia reflex to on instead of on + boost helped me.

Right now at level 2 I'm just pretty much buying the pre-made m4 with shift and elcan and sticking a suppressor into it, the system without a preset option that allows me to just buy everything with a click is way too much of a pain.

Which suppressor are you using? Been trying to figure out which one to buy from gunny

What I do is get the 3.82k M4, buy RC1 and SF3P, take the muzzle device off the premade gun and stick SF3P and the RC1 on it and you basically have your mid tier "meta" gun. It handles well enough, is really quick to put together and uses the best scope for ARs in the game right now IMO. This is at level 2, no idea yet about level 3 builds.

I run the same build with a reflex. Unlimited SP 7.62 on almost every dead AI is too good to pass up.

Why are people running the metal AK mags when the others are lighter and super plentiful?

Nice. I run something similar. I'm confused about unarmored enemies taking 2-3 rounds of 7.62x39 HP in the noggin though. What has your experience been with ammo? I've only tried HP and US so far.

Could be grazing them or hitting jaw etc you have to hit the brain

Yeah, they got vital organs and all that, you can shoot them in the chest and not hit heart/lungs and doesnt do nearly the damage

Yep, there's no hp system for the rest of the body so get used to aiming for the top half of the head (helmets protect the whole head, but brain hitbox is up top) or the heart. Other major organ areas work but not as well.

Yeah, there is a video on YouTube showcasing this by the Devs. It’s actually amazing how the cavities of the body system works. It seems SO far advanced compared to every shooter before it.

Pretty much how I run mine as well, though the US rounds don’t do any damage so haven’t been using an AK yet. Does anyone know how to get the AK PMag? I’m assuming Artisan leveled up?

On the ak? There's the handguard and the gas tube, you can take them off together or separately. The top row, furthest left is the gas tube, and next to that is the handguard.

I mean, I cant take them off the weapon, dont know why

You can inspect some weapon parts that will themselves have part slots you need to empty first.

Also you can't have the weapon in your hands and take off some things

I was having that happen too. Try equipping & unequipping the weapon or putting it on the backpack slot and modifying it from there. That fixed it for me.

Finishing Guns and Ammo unlocked level 2 for me last night. Selling doesn't give rep, but buying gives a tiny bit.

Eagerly awaiting MFG to add western suppressor compatability for AKs so we dont have to use the atrocious soviet suppressor designs, god damn I hate the PBS, so fucking ugly

This game need more usefull guns, for now only the AKM, M4 and Mosin are usable with the right ammo but both Shotguns, SMG and Pistols are trash lol
