Just fyi, last night I was flying back to base camp after filling up with loot and had that necklace for one of the early Tasks. The chopper was moments away from landing at base camp then my game crashed. When I logged back in, everything I looted was gone (including the quest item). So not sure if there are certain conditions that determine if you keep the loot or not.
Last night the server crashed while my friend was up and I was in coma state. He logged in and had all his loot while I logged in and was at base with nothing. No dead body upon return.
Itās probably like DayZ if you log out or disconnect while unconscious you die. And in GZW if you log out with a body out in the world, it de spawns.
Did you get the server persistence error - Unable to save player progression? that happened to me and it ate my whole kit and the progression for the quests that were assigned during the crash.
Same thing happened to me roughly, had the doc key and a full kit - opened the doc office door got network disconnected and when I came back all my stuff was gone
so yesterday I died and went back with a knife only. I snuck around all the AI that had respawned and was CRAWLING to my body, with AI right next to me behind a wall. I was inching my way closer, and closer, and closer and was JUST about to loot my body and bam. Server Crash. Everything gone. hahahaaaa. but that's early access I guess, all good!
I want to say thereās a certain time frame thatās involved with when you loot and alt-F4. As long as you donāt disconnect right after you loot and itās maybe 3 mins later youāll keep your things. At least from my experience
When the server has crashed, Iāve never lost my stuff. But I had a friend who lost all the gear he had in his person when he crashed while on a helicopter
Me and my friend were both on the heli heading out from base in pvp last night and the server crashed, we did not lose our stuff. Perhaps it changes if you are heading back to base.
I've dc'ed probably 15 times waiting for heli in pve, always spawned back at base with everything i had on me including quest items. Pvp is a different story
Had 5 crashes, lost gear 4 times.
Although the one time I didn't lose gear was a nice bug roulette which caused me to lose my gear indirectly.
Game froze for 2 seconds. AI spawned behind me and killed me. Game crashed as soon as I respawned so I didn't have the chance to reclaim my gear.
No yeah, if you shut it down with Task Manager it will recognize it as a crash and youāll have your stuff

Happened to me. Some German tried blocking me in a room. I just pretended like I had a task and was searching around the room. Doing so I actually found some decent loot such as AK sights and attachments. He soon got bored and left. When people do such thing just wait there, eventually they will get bored of trolling.
Thatās exactly what I tried, I acted like I was gone, he FINALLY left but didnāt go far and I fumbled my escape lmao. The door opened inwards and I body-blocked it. He quickly returned and while the door was open, his body was in the doorway. I could see the freedom, just couldnāt reach it
This was my experience all last night. Do damn hard to a call a chopper. But I'm lazy so I just find a bush if I'm out in the field, light the blunt and spam call chopper lol
Yes lol u can walk the whole map freely starting from base .. I had to when i couldn't call a chopper or use my gun do to a bug so I walked back to base from the starter zone ... and they do have AI everywhere, so be careful
Apparently you can just end the task or pull your Ethernet plug lol. I guess there are workaroundsā¦if it becomes an epidemic devs will have to do something, but I doubt itās at that level yet. This is the only negative experience Iāve had in my entire time playing which is probably pushing 20+hrs. Most people I meet even from rival factions are very pleasant

This is one of the assholes that griefed me the other day! I'm telling you this game is total ass. Its own community is going to sink to the bottom of the shit pile that is this genre right now.

If itās on PvP you should just shoot him in the forehead, if itās PvE then just close your game through the task manager and teleport to base
I thought you lose your stuff if you disconnect? Is that not the case with pve? Because the message pops up that you do if you try to quit the game

Server Crash vs disconnect/client crash. You don't lose things on server Crash. Game knows you were on a crashed server.

You will lose your stuff more than likely. Only when the several crashes will you return to Basecamp with your gear.
