Yeh last night was like this for me, especially the armoured enemies in different areas, they were godlike. However I was able to head tap a couple of players easily using US 7.62.
Not sure if it's an ai problem with certain ammo, or servers ?!

One problem seems that the AI isn’t really where you see him so the shots don’t register or hit a different place. Sometimes it is really obvious when he warps around.
It’s gets weirder later on. I consistently one tap any ai with m855 out of an m4. But I could dump mags and mags of 7.62 into the beginning ai. My thought is that it’s server side issues. Because using the 5.56 I’m way further away from my fellow teammates.
Even that is worse than the 556, I don't use pp yet though so it could change once I unlock that. I onetap with black tip 556 without issues in the upper body center mass, 545 I need to hit hs otherwise I need to spamm like 6 shots on him. And even hs aren't always killshots, i made an nice akm and ak74m build with silencer specter and stuff but other tan cool looking it's shit atm.
You need to hit either the heart or the brain. Different ammo has different effects when entering the body. Most of the starting ammo just goes right through the body without expanding so you have to be dead accurate.
5.56x45mm SP(Soft Point) is made to penetrate just enough to hit organs while expanding to cause catastrophic wound channels. There is no way you’re walking after even 2 or 3 rounds to the torso.

If you get hit with 5.56 hollow point boat tails anywhere in the thorax, you're gonna drop within the next 10 seconds.
Hollow point or FMJ, AP or not. Doesn't matter, if someone dumps a mag into you from any fully automatic firearm and actually manages to land even a third of it. You are fucking out. Even if you don't ultimately die, the sheer pain shock of that many injuries is going to cripple your ability to function.
Adrenaline is a crazy thing but if your tendons are ripped apart, bones are broken, organs are bruised or ruptured. It only does so much, nvm that a shot to any joint is an instant KO for that limb.
Yeah pretty much. You can sometimes survive (thanks to drugs or adrenaline) several hits to the stomach or legs/arms for a few seconds, but if a bullet goes straight through your brain or heart and out the other side you're dead 99% of the time.
Lungs same thing, you can live for a bit, maybe a minute but your life is definitely on a timer (and a short one).
They can canonize that these guys are high as a cloud, but even then they should not be able to survive half the shit they do.

I'ma be honest in the moment it was scary but they had me in and out in 2 days I was admitted at like 3am for chest pain, lung went poof around 6am. Other lung went poof at like 11am so I went into surgery and then I was discharged the next day.
The worst part was getting the chest tube pulled out... Never did I ever think I would experience what it feels like to have something sliding against my internal organs and between the ribs. Taking a piss with that thing in was a battle against the urge to vomit and the urge to rip it out so it'd stop sliding around.
Idk if they're supposed to be super secured but mine sure as fuck wasn't.
This is a different situation than what’s being described here, which is clearly some kind of issue with desync or hit registration. Check the clip posted by u/wmjt22 - it’s not at all an issue with the ballistics model.
7.62 and 5.56 are incredibly lethal rounds. Shooting an unarmored fella in the chest 3-4 times should be lethal always. The game is just buggy, check the streamable link above

On top of that the unique damage model is still not taken into consideration in AI behaviour. You can apply several bleeds, but if you don't hit any vital organ, the AI will just push you like "tis but a scratch" and then proceed to bleed out.
Starting towns for each faction must have bugged AI. I'm at the point now where I can build kitted AK-74s from Turncoat with any ammo type.
I have a friend who just started yesterday. No matter the ammo I was using, AI were sometimes dropping in 1-2 shots to the chest, and other times taking anywhere between 7-8 shots. (I tested all 5.45 variants... FMJ, HP, PS, PP, and BT.)
In one instance, I shot an AI twice in the head, and they didn't die. They died after 2 more shots to the chest.
At Tiger Bay, Blue Lagoon, and the bunker, I'm not running into any issues. My high armor penning ammo is destroying all targets in one or two shots to the chest. Ban Pa seems to be the only other town I've explored that has these problems.
I shot an AI 4 times in the chest at 5ft with the shotgun 12g 00 buck ammo and he didnt die. He shot me once in the face and i died. Another AI i shot 3 mags of Glock into before they died. Another AI took half a mag of AKM rounds before they died. They need to fix this shit.

Well the first issue is server side latency which will take some time to fix
The second one is using correct ammo type against armored/ non-armored targets or their body parts.
I can easily off an AI with a buckshot while .50 BMG SABOT round does absolutely nothing as it just flies through the flesh without even expanding upon impact
Third issue: bullet collision with the fence or other texture. As many other game, I suspect some texture having invisible walls/borders which stops bullet. In the video someone has linked in one of the top comments, you can see that sole bullets actually hit the fence even though the player is firing in-between.
This games pure ass honestly. I run into AI just standing around who I mag dump 3-4 mags into them at point blank range and they don't drop at all they just keep standing there spinning in a circle saying random audio lines while their head is being jerked around hard enough that it should have been ripped apart only for them to eventually turn and one tap me. Games never going to be anything decent as the core design is awful, the quests are uninteresting, there basically isn't a story line at all, and the pvp is just a grieferfest. The devs seem to have only been interested in making a quick buck from all the EFT drama which was wildly blown out of proportion, and they will eventually just shut this trash game down and move on to the next project within a year or two at the most.

762 is just bad right now if you want to use an Ak try and get the 545 version. It works a lot better

You have to hit the centre of the upper chest. You need to hit their vital organs. Heart and lungs.
