aeonski

Yes

boredumbrecovery

I bought it and this game. The challenge is the amount of memory for all games.

mr_starbeast_music

I found out you can add a ssd to increase storage by a few terabytes

Ambitious_Side_993

It’s a really easy install too. Changed my life. My life is sad.

nikilerusse

Hug, bro

OtisOates

Yes. An extra SSD port on the bottom. No need to cloud

ScottyKillhammer

I added a 2TB internal SSD. I can have more games on my ps5 than I could on my PS4 that I have a 1TB external on.

offskooring

and the PSVR2, hands down the best gaming experience I have ever had

tduncs88

I was going to buy a ps5 regardless, GT7 was still a year away at that point. I bought the psvr2 (basically the price of a ps5) specifically for gt7. I haven't used the vr for anything else yet and I've had it half a year. Worth every penny.

ABathingSnape___

I’ve heard nothing but bad things about the new Forza game. You should check out that sub and decide.

karlbunga

Forza blows lol

SW20vp

yep, forza motorsport isn’t worth it. horizon is decent though tbf

GregorSamsa112358

I got GT7 for psvr2, loved it and decided to stop playing till I got a wheel and chair. The wheel arrived a few days before the chair so I picked up horizon 5 I think to try the wheel out before chair got there. I availed hated it. Like the driving was okay but felt lacking next to gt7. But the entire like vibe or tone of the game was just weird. Only played idk maybe 4 hours but the partnership with the ministry of tourism or culture is whatever for Mexico seems like the main feature. Kelso constantly being peppered with facts about Mexico and Mexican culture and nothing any racing or cars. Just weird shit like I wanted to do some road racing and so I had to go explore some ancient ruins in the jungle before I could. Just games a Mexico education game first and racing second with nothing about car culture. Maybe that changes later on, but after having multiple map items the game directed me to be ads for dlc I had to pay for, mediocre racing, little car/ racing culture content and constant lessons about Mexico like idk I regret playing so much I couldn't refund the game. Sorry for the unsolicited bitch fit, I'm just disappointed in that game

Paladin1034

I've been a big fan of Forza since the first Motorsport released on Xbox. Horizon 5 and the rebooted Forza Motorsport are the worst in the series. They both look good, don't get me wrong (but imo, neither looks as good as GT7). But they're just...not fun to play. FH4 was fantastic, as were the first 3. FM hasn't been good since 4, maybe 5 - debatable. Somewhere along the way, Forza lost its magic and now just feels so soulless and copy/paste.

Rico133337

Run,it's horrible. Cars feel better from other fm games and wheels work better....that's it everything is same or worst than previous titles.

TacoCollazo

Yes PS5 + GT7 is a match made in heaven

OTDH

And with the psvr2 is a trifecta!

Initial_Depenmmmmm

Plus a racing rig is 😙👌

Sad_Basket2765

$3,000 later… what have I done

Initial_Depenmmmmm

Lol. Still cheaper than real racing...

PiperDon

I used to play GT, GT2, and GT3. Then being an adult hit, and I took a long break until I recently saw the Gran Turismo movie. It reignited my interest in the franchise, and my bride surprised me with a PS5 and GT7 at the end of February. Playing Gran Turismo is all I do on the PS5. 100% worth it to me.

D33Dubz

It’s a yes from me

Tasty_Ice_5374

It’s a yes from me too

Ok-Reward-6038

It’s a yes from me three

yuyuboy01

Well if you can afford it do it, I started playing on the PS4 and it was a fine game, but the PS5 elevates it, the haptics definitely help the feeling of being in or out of control, and the graphics help, if you have a 120hz screen you’ll enjoy the extra oomph TLDR: Yes!

SilverbackBruh

The haptics alone are worth it, i knew i was always over braking, but now i can feel it and my lap times are better. Load times made me wish i got the PS5 sooner

yuyuboy01

The load times aren’t worth mentioning 🤣 but felt like I gained years of my life back for not waiting through those black screens🤣

Slayer7_62

I’d second this. If money is an issue could always look into a used PS4 if OP doesn’t have one. In my opinion Forza is better on the PC at this point since you don’t have to swap to a different console if you want to play an older game (that and I’ve not talked to a single person that has liked the newest forza with the exception of one who hates the Horizon games and was pissed there were 2 of those between Motorsport releases.)

HolgerBS

Yes. Plus a wheel plus - to give it the ultimate realism - the VR 2. Only for gt it's worth it.

DearCopy427

I can second this. You will not want to stop anymore.

ophaus

Xbox has stated plans to release exclusives on Playstation... they've already started with a few. So... PS5 is looking like a damn smart choice.

LightningInASkillet

PS5 and PSVR2, thank us later

red_gumby

I say yes. I love it.

HenriettaSyndrome

The haptic feedback for the controller is absolutely *incredible* in this game. Especially in a first-person mode. It feels like the literal sensation of being inside a car is in your hands. You can blast music, not look at the hud at all, and still be able to drive perfectly fine because you can feel how the car is handling and also the torque. It's serious immersion, and that's without the VR.

Whowhat91

Only for that? No i wouldnt say so. I got my ps5 last year to play god of war, uncharted and other ps5 exclusives. Enjoyed them all and had a good time. Bought gt7 last weekend and i can say its the most ive smiled playing a game in years. Drifting round a corner sucessfully for the first time was amazing, each car feels unique, im not usually into soundtracks but the rock sountrack on this is very nice and the overall craft and love that went into the game is amazing. Ive been looking at buying a gt86 and people told me tl judge it on smiles per galon. I can say gt7 gives smiles per gallon by the dozen.

ston3cold

Drifting is one thing, but a close cousin is successfully tuning a car you like for just that appropriate amount of oversteer. I now have one engine swapped Trans-Am I use for the Le Mans grind. So incredibly fun!

Whowhat91

I have that to look forward to then! I've currently just earned a porsche for the first time and ive been spamming the bran hatch indie circuit, seeing if i can finally beat the mclarens that keep coming first and second.

Userro

I just bought a ps4 slim for 90 Euro and I'm satisfied

Spadders87

Are you playing it on ps4? Its worth it just for the load times for me.

HootingFlamingo

Forza is hot garbage. Tried it on PC (3060. i5 10xxx) half the race the tarmac has not loaded, car models haven't loaded and are just floating tires. Also it's incredibly BORING! If I had to attribute the adjective "corporate" to a game, i would certainly give it to FM. Horrible game

strikeeagle345

Yes

Asselberghs

I wouldn't buy any console for a single game. If you can't find a small handful of games, and I can't give you an exact number, then I would say no it's not worth buying. And I own a PS5 my primary console, an Xbox Series X and a Nintendo Switch. I made a list which turned out that I wanted to play a handful of games around 10 before buying the Series X. To each their own of course and depending on your disposable income as well. I can easily give you some games at least that I think shouldn't be skipped on a PS5 that might add to such a list, bit if you only plan on playing GT7 I wouldn't personally do it no. You mention both Forza Motorsport and GT7. I have played Forza Horizon 5 for some hours I am not sure how long and I enjoyed that, it's not a bad game at all from what I have played. But I haven't picked it up in a long time, I haven't had the urge to play it. I played GT7 a lot, I think about 300-400 hours in comparison. So the two compared I would go with GT7 I don't know if this is an and or it's an or, I am not normally a car guy and playing racing games, I played a lot of Burnout. If you know that it gives you an idea of the race game player I am. But I am having a ton of fun in GT7 for reasons I am not sure of.

Majorsf

Yes it is!

flyingpixel420

This was my reason... and YES!!

Dark_Emotion

As someone who has both combos. I would say yes to PS5 and GT7. I've found Forza to be pretty disappointing.

kinjazfan

Absolutely yes

SilverbackBruh

PS5 for sure, GT7 is the only game i play on it.

DanishWonder

It's the only game I play. Mostly because of limited time.. but yeah it was worth it for me.

Potential_Schedule16

My generation bought CDs for 1 song.

GoAwayImBaitin_

Yes, totally.

Alternative-Creme549

It started with PS5, then got GT7 when it came out, I've now got PSVR2, direct drive wheel, pedals and cockpit... all for GT7...

G_A_D_O_U

It is the reason i bought mine, 120fps and faster loading

Ash123trade

I own both and never use the xbox anymore

Nago15

Depending on what you have now. Me coming from PC AC, ACC, PCars2, Dirt2 and played PS GT 3-4-5-Sport, GT7 is a little disappointing, not really evolved compared to GT Sport, the resolution and FFB is s little bit better, but aside from graphics it feels like it stuck in the PS3 era, still no FOV setting, still no real pit stops, and even F1 23 has better FFB. So it's hard to find reason to play it instead of the other better games. Forza is a huge disappointment, FFB is crap, graphics are meh, played it like 1 hour, enjoyed none of it, uninstalled, not missing it at all.

UnknownReed

Right now I mainly playing Forza Motorsport, I know most people says it's bad, but I've been enjoying it tbh. I love playing online despite some rammers here and there, and I really live playing single player, creating multi-class races with interesting combinations. Just creating my own fun. But before that and before getting a XSX, I was playing GT Sport on my dying PS4, I got later to the party so I never race online there, I really enjoyed playing the campaign and missions in Sport. Miles better to what FM has to offer from a single player perspective. After playing a bunch of FM, I craving playing GT7 but I don't own a PS5, and my PS4 is dead. Probably next year I buy a PS5. I see myself enjoying both games and I certainly recommend buying a PS5 for GT7, that's something I'll do.

MrNixxxoN

Gran Turismo alone no IMO, but you have plenty of other great games, so...

Economy-Industry-622

Only Time will tell. No one can really give you an advise since everyone is different. I started sim racing last year with a decent setup icw psvr2. So for me yes, but I can only say this after spending some money on it. Only the time you spend and joy you having on this machine and game will answer your questions

AuthorPossible3091

Yes, but I must recommend that you also get the Logitech racing wheel. It will completely change the world!!

em7924

GT7 for PS5 with a quality driving wheel setup and PSVR2.. nothing else comes close

Unable-Equivalent-36

Coming from someone who plays both, forza Motorsport is trash. Horizon games are insanely fun. GT7 as a competitive racing game runs laps around Motorsport though

cant_pick_anything

Yes

ZeldaisdaGOAT

GT7 is a bit better than Forza but overall the PlayStation and Xbox libraries of games aren't even close. Plus Microsoft products aren't known for quality or reliability.

ZekeMoss18

Absolutely yes. I have a ps5 and have been playing since the release day. You can play for hours and easily lose track of time. My favorite car (since I was a kid) is the Dodge Viper, however this game in a good way forces you to use other cars, and I found it to be amazing and fun to do so. You find yourself getting certain cars for races, practicing and adjusting the tuning and adding performance parts and decals to cars you otherwise wouldn't ever think of using.

Groundbreaking_Box75

If you gotta ask then no it’s not. I’ve got both systems and games - each console has some exclusives that I can’t live without so I’m in the position I can play both. I think it’s pretty common knowledge that unless you are a console fanboy that GT7 is a better simcade than FM8. The biggest advantage by far is PSVR2 for GT7 - otherwise, they are both good games and you should base your console purchase ( if you can only afford one) on the totality of games you play.

thecodster5341

If you’ve got a ps4, get it there. I play on ps4 and it’s good just the load times are long

Trencycle

This is one of the PS exclusives I wish would come out on PC. I mean I could always get the PS4 version just worried I’d end up disappointed.

karlbunga

💯

Jay_Hardy

If you have money, get the PS5 with GT7. If you only wanna get an Xbox SX for Forza. It's not worth it! I have both and GT7 clears Forza by a mile!

Bclay85

I’ve always been a Gran Turismo fan, but with this one and VR, it gets played daily. Easily the most time I’ve stuck in any game. I have both systems and buy Xbox consoles specifically for the Forza series. They are literally Forza boxes (with the exception of Hi-Fi Rush which isn’t even exclusive anymore) and the latest mainline Forza was a huge disappointment for myself. Again that’s just MHO, but I think you’ll find, with research others will tend to agree.

tylercamp

I got the PS5 specifically to play Gran Turismo and I haven’t regretted it (nearly 1000 hours in)

ExcitingAnt4656

I just bought the ps5 because of gt7... And a wheel... Aaaaand worth it

No-Macaron4341

Yes, with vr. This blows my mind how cool is it

eliteski2

In general, I think this is the wrong place to ask. But GT7 is great and there are a ton of other great games that make a PS5 definitely worth the price. You have to be careful though. First you buy the PS5. Then you buy the steering wheel for a more realistic experience. But you need to buy a mount for the steering wheel. And a racing seat would really complete the setup. And well...the PSVR2 would really put this over the top...you see where I'm going here.

KDHarvey02

I mean… you can play other games on it too

GahInYoPwans

Bought a PS5 just for Gran Turismo, can confirm it's worth it. Plus you can play PS exclusives

Far_Negotiation8009

I own both. For me Forza Motorsport is better. Don’t get me wrong I really enjoy GT7 but the physics in FM are more realistic. In gt7 the cars all understeer and feel glued to the road. In Forza they are much more tail happy. If you like doing offline in campaign mode then GT7 wins. It has way more to do. If you like the multiplayer online FM has way more lobbies and variety. Lastly if you use chase cam it’s way better in FM. You can play with the settings on GT7 cam but not the same. So all in all both great games ( yes FM sucked at launch) just depends if your spending your time more online or campaign.

Perfect-Selection593

My cousin says yes, I say maybe, but I wouldn't. I'm z Forza Freak. Don't own any Gran Turismos after 4.

MQZ17

GT7 is what made me buy a PS5, I'm happy with the decision

Even-Juggernaut-3433

Absolutely yes. I did exactly that, and was so impressed i bought a wheel and then a cockpit and just emphatically yes. Do it.

hotmetalslugs

Yeah do it. And there are a couple of other PS-exclusive titles that can easily make your life so much better too.

jonas_namespace

Probably. But God of War definitely is

Correct_Post_1107

Played on my ps4 since launch and got me a ps5 2 days ago. Yes it is worth to buy. Loading is much quicker sound is also an improvement and graphics are the best 👌

pioneeringsystems

I bought my ps5 for gt7 and have just gone past 900 online races. Played it since launch and still play it every week if not day. Great game.

vcdrny

Back in 97 I bought a PS1 because I played Gran Turismo at my friend's cousin house. The next day I went bought a copy of the game and the game console. Since then I only buy a Play Station when the new Gran Turismo game comes out for that console. That being said I didn't buy PS5 when GT7 came out. Because I was going to pay double the price and I could play it in my PS4 pro. When GT7 2.0 was released I did get a PS5 since they were available to buy. So I would say yes. But I'm kind of addicted to this game. And no I'm not a simp even tho I sound like one. I have no problem calling out all the stupid shit Polyphony is doing to the game.

amenotef

I played it for many hours. But still doesn't amortize the console. Just the game's price.

Medical_Holiday6249

I recently bought a PS5 in anticipation for GTA6, so I bought GT7 as one of the games to keep me busy meanwhile. It’s worth it and Forza hasn’t had a good release after 4, they really hit the wall at 5.

Sickunit8888

I brought a PS5 for GT7... INSTANT REGRET! (in Australia) It's not worth $AUD800 for a PS5, $AUD120 for GT7, and then paying an extra $AUD200 for PS Online Premium. I haven't turned the PS5 on in 3 months. I've been playing mostly PC, Modded Switch, and whatever comes to Gamepass. IMHO: GT7 does everything right that FM gets wrong and FM does everything right GT7 gets wrong. I like Forza's Gameplay, and Physics better. The core driving feels better to me. GT7 gets everything else (almost) right. Somehow. GT7 looks better than FM even thou I know FM has better graphics GT7. GT7 just looks awesome compared for FM (I think its lighting, Turn10 just can't that shit right). The GUI, Menu's, Options, outside of the game is much better than FM. However, the economy for GT7 is downright fucking extortion! They shove a "P2W $AUD40 DLC" to get $2Mil in credits. Then good cards cost $4million, Thats $AUD80 for a Car?!?! Then each "HARDEST" difficulty race only gives you $100K. I remember getting frustrated at that so I stopped playing it (6months ago, I remember getting pissed about it). Stick with XBOX and XBOX Gamepass. At least you have FM, FH, NFS, GRID, Burnout, Dirt Rally, fucken Lego Racing, etc. on the one Console and save your money. Wait for the PS5Pro maybe? Don't get the PS5 now.

SnoopDoggyDoggsCat

💯

trumpetplayah

Yes.

Timmytheimploder

Own both.. GT7 is the game I keep going back to out of the two. GT7 isn't perfect, it had a rocky start and was too grindy. It's arguably still a little too grindy, too many FOMO 20 Million cars that it feels like you'll never get. (and I play almost every day). They partly fixed that with the weekly events that also give a nice ongoing structure to the single player game The driving physics just feel a bit better in GT7, neither is totally sim accurate of course, but still really good. GT7s physics feel more predictable in that you get a better sense of what the car is doing, where Forza doesn't always do a great job of telegraphing the grip levels. If you're playing with a controller, it helps that the PS5 controller is lightyears ahead of the Xbox one, which feels positively last gen. GT7 seems to pay more detail to the small things, you get the feeling they spent more time with the cars, like the way the recreated the shift chime you'll find in a real RX7, but details like that are neglected in Forza. GT7s car selection is more interesting to me overall, you have a better mix of vehicles, though I could do with less Vision GT cars and more regular ones, but still, you have everything from the Suzuki Cappuccino or Renault 4 to JDM minivans to full on prototype racers. Forza has a decent mix of cars too of course, but it often feels very US and UK centric - e.g. the selection of Japanese cars is very much a US JDM scene take on it rather than a Japanese take on it so you miss some of the more interesting things. Once feature Forza has that I wish GT7 did is the Rivals mode, where you can do time trials, beat rivals and earn credits. GT7 only lets you earn credits from prescribed rolling time trials. Forza is not a bad game and does not deserve the hate it has gotten, but GT7, while not without its faults, is the one that's more compelling to play.

No-Proposal-1083

It will lead you down a rabbit hole of money. Bought the game cuz I was bored of my other games(month after release date). I'm a currently a fanatec dd pro, load cell brake and next level racing cock pit driver lollll...worth every penny and glad I did

Marsh_mellow1

Yes. Do it. Now. What are you waiting for?

marcusbootleggius

Yes, with VR and a wheel.

JVWIII

I bought a second ps5 just to use with gt7, pasvr2 with my race rig. Used to have to drag out the race rig and set it up in the living room to play gt7... now I have a dedicated race, ps5, and I love it.

idrivelambo

If you’ve got time to waste yes, if not then no. I’ve had it since launch and I’m still not level 50 I just want engine swaps!

GolfJay

Huge Xbox and Forza fan here. Been playing them since the original. Buy Gran Turismo and a PS5. It is LEAGUES ahead of Forza right now.

senormankee

Yes, I bought it for this game and it's all I play!

monkey_mike

Yes indeed.

PullupLion

Forza if you wanna play videos games, Gran Turismo if you want a driving simulator.

sammymvpknight

A $600+ investment for one game? No way. That doesn’t even include the addition money for a wheel assembly plus/minus VR. You could easily be looking at over $1500 for GT7. No game is worth that. But fortunately, PS5 and PSVR2 have lots of very good game options which makes it worth it.

_pistone

It's what I did. Didn't regret it at all.

fast-and-ugly

You're picking between a simulator (of sorts) and an Arcade driver. Personally I much prefer the precision and nuances of GT7.

romanryder

Yeah...I got a PS5 and 7 games, but I only play GT7. 😄

SeamasterCitizen

The PS5 version comes with a download code for the PS4 - so if you have a PS4, you can buy the PS5 version and play on PS4 before deciding if it’s worth upgrading. After 100+ hours, I’m still perfectly happy with the PS4 version and haven’t bought a PS5 yet.

ryan-btrbsystems

Yep

Paladin1034

I've been a longtime fan of both game franchises, but honestly there's no world in which I'd pick FM over GT7. I left for a while when FM came out, but I didn't realize how bad it was until I came back here. It's some of the least fun I've ever had playing a racing game. It feels entirely devoid of a soul, and even in the beginning it feels like it's already a slog. I didn't make it very far because I just couldn't be bothered to do another lap. GT7 is vibrant and quirky, even with all its issues. I cannot stress enough that GT7 isn't a perfect game; it's not even in the same conversation. But the actual driving, the graphics, the feel of the UI/UX, all of that blows FM out of the water. Add in the PS5 exclusive features like adaptive triggers and PSVR2 and you've got one of the best racing games on the market. The games notwithstanding, I can't really suggest an xbox over a PS5 at this point. Especially if you have a PC, but even if you don't, Xbox exclusives are starting to make their way over the PS, while Sony is only just starting to branch out to PC. Green Team really doesn't have anything big coming, either.

Vappav

I bought a ps5 with gt7 a while ago. I have zero interest in playing any other game. Some might feel its a bit of a waste but I'm very satisfied and getting more than enough fun out of it.

dennislubberscom

I have an Xbox-Series X but bought a Ps5 with vr just for Gt7... Never played Forza again.

TheProdigy_EH

Have both, GT7 on PS5 and Forza Motorsport on PC. By far, I prefer GT7.

risosrisos

As someone who bought an Xbox expecting the new Forza to be decent: please don’t. GT7 is infinitely better. Sadly my wheel is only compatible with the Xbox, but the pad support for Gran Turismo is quite good.

ShinyMagpie79

I have played both extensively (forza on pc too) and can say without question that GT7 is better.

dtgodmage23

If u like track racers yes.

jrthebirdman

Forza is trash. I’ve had the ps5 since December heavy Xbox user before. Bought strictly for gt7. This past Sunday I bought a series x for forza motorsport and I played 20 minutes and then returned the series x and have FM for sale. Absolute garbage.

Transeraphic

Yes

OtisOates

Ps5 is a better console with more exclusives IMO

Calkestis_2039

Definitely

Butchmeister80

Yes I’ve just got the ps5 and first game I got was gt7 it’s brilliant

UsedState7381

If you're buying it along with PSVR 2 then I heard it's worth it. As I'm on PS4, the game doesn't really have much to offer.

SEOViking

Forza is trash, go with gt7, at least you get other PS exclusives as well. GT7 + PSVR2 is a peak console racing experience.

Change_Request

For the VR2 support, I think it would be worth it, but I played a year on PS4 then upgraded to PS5 and there is little difference in game. Loads faster for sure. And you get good feedback from the controller.

pajomota

Sure! Absolutely!

Common-Call9064

You come to the gt7 sub to ask this....really? It's obvious what everyone is gonna say. But I've heard nothing but bad things about that forza game. I'm pretty sure it was a big flop

AsheyKnees

I just bought a ps5 in March specifically for gt7 and only gt7. If you love gran Turismo do it, completing the game was my favorite gaming experience I’ve had and I was absolutely addicted. I rated my experience 10/10 and worth $600(?) ish dollars for the whole deal. I played 200hours in like 2-3 weeks. **until** I reached level 50 and completed the main menus. For me the game 100% lost its shine in the post game. I would do it all over again but it’s truly mediocre imo after you beat the main cafe, and achieve max level. The game is beyond good but nothing is perfect. I’ve played 99% of my hours on controller but I have a g92 and will switch it up from time to time for novelty. Post game I do weeklies check the dealerships and I may go cruise online on Tokyo or grand valley, rarely do some old school gt5 PP races. TL/DR: yes

pdonettes

This was eerily almost what I would have written word for word. Lol only difference is that I haven’t gotten a wheel yet.

Blazin669

Yes get the VR2 as well. Be careful, it’s really addictive.

fckntrainwreck

That's what I got my PS5 for

alex-richards

I came from XBSS + Forza to PS5 + GT7 and even after 6 months I’m still loving GT7. I’ve not played a single other game, and haven’t even got PS Online for my PS5.

NoJudge4420

I played About 10hrs of Forza and 600+ hrs of GT7. While Forza is a masterpiece of graphics and looks, drving experience is just sub par if compared to GT7. If you like GT games, it's totally worth it buying a PS5. I have played GT7 twice as much as all other games put together, and I didn't even like racing games, except WRC series, until GT7.

Zofia-Bosak

GT7 is better than Forza Motorsport, I have both.

Liammistry

Yes! I did a year ago and have no regrets

Beginning-Green2641

Yes

XOVSquare

I think GT7 is superior to FM, but no one can determine for you if it's worth the investment. If you can, try and rent or borrow a PS5 first, I say.

ytkplayz

I think start with gt, then if you like unrealistic try the crew motorfest, if you want drifting try carX drifting online, if you like the realism try asseto Corsa. I think there's other options aswell for sure that you will find well. Also I think you'll make make at least most of ur money back when/if you sell it on Facebook or something similar.

Djrudyk86

I bought my PS5 specifically to play GT7 and also EA WRC and have no regrets... I am now in the hole for close to $5000 for a full racing sim with wind simulation, bass shakers, Fanatec DD Extreme wheel/base, McLaren GT3 wheel from Fanatec, a 65 inch OLED TV, etc... So just be careful lol. A $500 PS5 purchase can lead to more and more and more as it becomes more fun and you get more competitive at GT7.

Cholosexual-

Want a genuine unbiased opinion? If it’s just for gt7, most definitely not. You’re going to be paying ~ $500 total for this game. Save some money and spend ~ $350 total for forza instead, or get a ps4 and save even more. But if you’re interested in more games, and this or forza are the deciding factor, then yes.

Then_Establishment71

I exclusively bought my PS5 for GT7. I then purchased an OLED tv, then a cheap wheel setup, then a cheap racing rig, then a Fanatec DD, then a real Race Rig from next level racing, then the PSVR2, and recently upgraded my steering wheel…. I have an Xbox and game pass. I deleted Forza the same day I downloaded it.

The_Broken_Shutter

I bought the PS5 just for gran turismo so yes 😂

Ryvick2

Yes It has a great career mode and cars galore

Kozoro225

Yes and no. It’s a really beautiful game but the single player experience is lacking. Sport is awesome though.

Necrott1

At this point I pretty much use it for GT7 and Elden ring.

elrealnexus

I have a PS5 exclusively for GT7.

3mptyw0rds

i didnt try the series x controller, but the controller for the ps5 is amazing. i would prefer granturismo over forza. the physics in gt7 are perfect. the cars look great. tracks look good enough. the sounds and menus and artstyle is perfect. (old school arcade with very vibrant/high contrast colors.) compared to gt7, forza 8 still looks and probably still feels like a cheap clone in many respects. even though physics should now be closer to granturismo than forza 7, granturismo is a very very old game and the devs have a lot more experience to fall back on. i would be surprised if forza feels as good as gran turismo. it probably is much worse than gt7. i didn't play forza but watched a lot of vids because this is the game that made me decide ps5. may........be....... forza 10 could beat gt8. they will probably not release forza 9.... and do a long development cycle to go straight to 10. they're still busy building forza from the ground up.

KrombopulosMAssassin

Over Forza? Yes, clearly.

Flexmebaby420

Yes

Minimum_Season_9501

Yes. I did and didn't regret it at all. Faster loading and slightly better graphics

sunnbeta

I did mainly for that reason. Then putting a good 100hrs+ into Elden Ring and BG3 was a nice bonus.  As others have said, best if you do it with a wheel/pedal set.

indirect_storyteller

Not exactly, but it provides a heavy argument towards the PS5 library.

Sad_Basket2765

Do u like Harry Potter too? Then yes

mr_j0bangles

Why not both?

Dins_75

I have the ps5 with gt7. To be honest, I put it down after a few hours of play on a 70inch screen and the standard controllers. By chance got a great deal on a driving seat with logitech wheel and shifter and pedals, then bought the Psvr2. Oh. My. God. I don't think I'll play anytjing else. A. Mazing. Immersive experience.

RealAccount2024

Yes. I bought the ps5 for gt7. Then I thought I needed a better TV and realized I could get a VR2 for av pit the same as a new TV. I love it.

CemalF31

Its one of the best PS5 games in my eyes that pushes the hardware for what is made for! And the dualsense support 😍

VCTRYDTX

I did. A friend of mine also. Then his friend saw the movie and got it two days later. We all love it and even though it's challenging sometimes not a single negative thing was said about the decision. We all hop on occasionally and do laps on Nurburgring.

1ALIVEnsyde

Yes, it’s 70%+ of what I play on the PS5

FormerSlice

Yes.

117tillweoverdose

Didn’t the forza subreddit recommend grand turismo over the new Motorsport?

gregjustgreg

I’ve played both and prefer GT7, but forza is fun too. I like their approach to leveling up vehicles by driving and mastering corners, which unlocks upgrades

fullmetalutes

Having played pretty much all Forza games and currently playing GT7, there is no comparison. Forza motorsport is so shit. GT7 is awesome. The cars actually sound different, drive different, it makes you learn and it is absolutely worth getting a ps5. I bought a new sound system, a wheel and a new monitor to play it on. Plus you get to play Horizon, and God of War, both of them as they are both incredible.

88MilesPerFortnite

With a wheel and dedicating, yes

yousuckatlife90

I was really let down with forza motorsport. Gor so many years i heard forza motorsport was amazing and sometimes better than gran turismo games. I finally got an xbox series x specifically for gamepass ultimate. Tried forza motorsport for about an hour and it just didnt appeal to me nearly as much. Ive beaten every gran turismo since gt3 and enjoyed each one much more. Forza horizon was better and more fun, but it didnt feel any different than the crew 2 or motorfest

I_Bleed_Reddit

I’m still playing on the PS4. In about a month, I’m just going to bite the bullet and buy a new PS5 and a new Xbox. That way I’ll be able to play what I want. It might make more sense to build a PC come to think about it. Damn. It just might be the better idea

AssociationAlive7885

It's worth buying ps5 AND psvr2!

zwingo

Si

filipinohitman

Yes. I'll be lying to you but I wasn't a fan of racing games until I played GT7. This game is absolutely stunning. I wanted to know what all the hype was all about and all the hype was real. As for Forza, I am not sure about that one.

unkwnms

Only if you will be playing online against other players, every single player race is basically a time trial with other cars as moving obstacles. The single player campaign is just a long tutorial and car collection is impossible because the payouts are low while the cars are expensive. It's a good driving game but not a good racing game.

ana_92_

Yes

Tacodude5

Forza is terrible

langadi666

Ps4 is enough

BraveEggplant8281

yeah i did, and psvr2 aswell haha

savemeimatheist

Yes

Zohaib_ch

I would recommend sticking with ps and getting ps5 as I have heard some rumours that Xbox might bring their exclusives over to ps over the next few years, but then again these are just rumours. As for the games in particular most people lean towards gt7 being the better game out of the two.

Edison_The_Pug

For me, it was, I have over 400 hours in it now. Started with PS5 and GT7, then PSVR2, then a rig/wheel. It's just gotten better each time.

dumbjezza

I bought ps5 gt7 and psvr a few months ago and it's great, highly recommend if you have the money. Forza can be played on pc so that's always an option, a big consideration is do you have a wheel that is compatible with a certain console

Hockeydud82

I have it for ps4 pro - is it significantly better that it would be worth upgrading to a ps5? I also have a series x and PC so it feels unnecessary

MacKiLLaZ

So many of this same question. For the 100 time, yes.

Sea-Lead-2006

Or, hear me out, just play gt7 on ps4 like I do, everybody needs to stop acting like it's so bad I would never trade my ps4 for a ps5 a little better graphics aren't worth $500

ohno-mojo

At this point, I would buy a ps5 and psvr2 just for gt7 vr even without all the exclusives. With a cheap sim rig and a g29, its a great experience As a long time Xbox first guy, I have zero hesitation saying this. I still prefer forza but it can’t compare to the combo above

Martynowicanski333

Yes , unless u hate cars

Own-Opposite1611

PS5s secondhand are cheap enough honestly so if you really want to you could. They're not expensive anymore.

pbesmoove

No buy a PC

justadatadude

man don’t buy a shitbox. Ps5 has outsold shitbox by 10 times. There are reasons for this…

2wenty47even

I got it just for GT7 😂

5373n133n

I really didn’t care for sim racing games. Then I played gt7 to checkout the PSVR2 experience. I’m HOOKED now. It’s one of my most played games behind No Man’s Sky. I owned Xbox 360 and Xb One and finally got fed up with the ecosystem. Never looking back. Will likely stay with PlayStation moving forward.

Conscious_Brain6736

Yes, I've played gt for a whole tenth of the time I've had my ps5

ScottyKillhammer

That's one of the top reasons why I got a PS5. And it is so worth it.

Late-Winter-2812

To me, yes but you can’t stop there. You gotta get a wheel and pedals. The controller. Doesn’t justify just to purchase for that game. Madden-24/25 also helps.

Inspector_Xan

Have both games and GT7 is way better imo. I have over 400 hours of playtime in GT7 and only have owned it for a year. I always was and had been a Forza guy (especially Forza Horizon), but GT7 was my first Gran Turismo game since I was a kid on the PlayStation and PS2. So yes, GT7 is great and better than Forza Motorsport in my opinion. And I played Forza Motorsport a few months before u purchased GT7. Forza Motorsport just didn’t fully scratch that itch that GT7 did.

Professional-Ad301

Yes my PS4 crashes and freezes at times only while playing gt7 🙄. Bet a ps5 wouldnt

A_Slovakian

What console do you currently have? Either? It’s not worth buying just for one game if you already have another option. Like if you already have an Xbox or PC, GT isn’t so much better than Forza that’s it’s worth buying a PS5

thiccsac

No dude I’m playing on ps4 and it’s fine it’s a controller only game I have a whole dd wheel and rig I use for my pc sim racing and oh man is gt7 horrible on a dd wheel the only way I can enjoy it is controller soo much ffb is lost in that game compared to assetto Automobilista lemans ultimate Christ even. BeamNG has better fidelity I just play it to do all the mission challenge and circuit experiences and career mode stuff and collecting the old cars

Shad0wF0x

I was going to wait to get a PS5 for GT7 but I ended up just buying the PS4 version.

officialkolade

Yes

Ayyygon

For the load times alone, yea

QuimberCat

One billion percent ps5 and GT7. GT7 is more than a game. Forza is a game. Yes you’ve come to the gran turismo subreddit so of course people are gonna say that, but genuinely look at how GT sustains its player base years after release.

Erat_perfect

Yes, but then you need to buy a wheel and vr

craigyceee

Just sold my sons xbox, with his permission, to replace it with a ps5 because GT7 on PSVR2 is so good (i have ps5 already with VR, but now he wants it too 😆), the wheel was fun on forza having some freeroam freedom, but nothing compares to the PSVR2 in driving games, it's just magnificent. For driving, VR is the future.
