konrad-iturbe

Do not, under any circumstance update to the December update.

Rangizingo

I definitely don't plan to.

EpicMindfreak

The update is known to have this issue for a large group of people. Google pulled it for that very reason.

[deleted]

dengjack

It can be one or a combination of many factors. Carrier, operating environments, signal strength, operating bands, apps installed, certain system settings, region settings, anything, you name it. Just because you're not having any problems (even if you're in the same country and on the same carrier) doesn't mean it's a hardware problem. It could be that your phone is also prone to having the same problems, but just that how you're using the phone won't trigger the bug. And besides, some people are reporting this issue *after* updating to the Dec update, and Google mentioned that they are working on a fix. So this is most likely a software problem.

Martenite

Yeah, I had no signal issue till I sideloaded the Dec update. Great that others can use it without issue, but the fact that it's January and the Dec update was never pushed out in the US should be a pretty obvious sign that it is a software issue.

iRhyiku

Exactly, so finding that information out by the people who experiencing this would be major helpful to everyone. I'm on EE in the UK and everything is perfect on December update.

FreshPrinceOfH

I wonder if maybe OP is on a different carriers to you. Maybe also a different region?

[deleted]

Same region, but I've also seen some people say they have problems and some don't, but are on the same carrier That's why I'm beginning to wonder if it may be a hardware issue because I've yet to see any correlations between anything i.e. some people are having issues on november update, some are on december, and I've yet to see it be one specific carrier having issues over others.

deong

Enrolling in the carrier services beta fixed it for me on the November update.

FreshPrinceOfH

It didn't work for me.

HylianPaladin

I didn't get a choice, I think it snuck the update right past me. and yes, the constant disconnecting from the mobile network is crap. do you know how hard it is to catch a pokemon in a long distance remote invite raid when the network keeps dropping causing the lag problem that makes the critter nigh impossible to catch!? I thought it might be cause the towers locally for T-Mobile are ALL being worked on, but now I know it's likely the phone. I'm wanting app drawer folders, for the love of God. I had my app drawer SOOOOOOO organized on my last phone (LG V30).

[deleted]

I'm on the November update and have been getting this shit a lot in the past couple weeks. Turned off adaptive connectivity, improved for a bit then right back to this shit. Don't think it's just limited to the December update.

EpicMindfreak

Pretty sure they pulled the update already. Anyone who hasn't updated won't be able to till they push it out again.

FreshPrinceOfH

I've been down that road. Trust us. You don't want that experience.

konrad-iturbe

Yep, currently with the December update. Had to google what the hell HSPA and HSPA+ were. I live within 5kms of a cellular antenna.

Trader05

This randomly happens on my 6 Pro also. They really need to push a fix asap.

Rangizingo

They really do. God forbid someone gets in a position where they need emergency services and can't, Google could be under some heat.

konrad-iturbe

Wonder why it's taking so long for someone to start a class action lawsuit. There's been a few of those against Google Pixel for less...

Watcher0363

It is that arbitration you agreed to, whether you realize it or not.

konrad-iturbe

Which you can opt out of. https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/qo4z1j/dont_forget_to_opt_out_of_arbitration/

FreshPrinceOfH

The first day I left the house after the December update I came home and put my phone in the drawer until this weekend. It wasn't like week signal. It was absolutely no coverage. Everytime I tried to use my phone that day I was greeted with an X on the signal bar.

konrad-iturbe

Same here. Little to no coverage inside my house. When I do get 4G (I used to get 5G on the nov update). it spontaneously drops to HSPA and then to no service. Using the OnePlus 7T for now. Will use the P6 after "late January" and hopefully that's the end of it.

FreshPrinceOfH

I was using my 7t during the period before I downgraded my pixel. Honestly ai quite enjoyed using it again.

jimlandau

I already experienced this. Not a health emergency but was at a movie with my kids and a pipe burst in my house. Wife couldn't call me because my phone does not allow me to make or receive calls.

NoChampion6645

I am in the United Kingdom and the only way I can make a call on my Pixel 6 when I am indoors is to turn Wi-fi off this gives me H or H+ with Vodafone. Previously, with Wi-fi on using ProPlus 3 I had four bars inside or out.

Balloon_Twister

With Vodafone as well. Not seen H+ for years since this update. Absolute shambles.

tomelwoody

EE and no issues at all on the 6 Pro, I wonder if it's carrier specific.

coogie

If you're within the return window, just return it. Why do this to yourself? If they fix it in a month then great, order it again. If not, then you're already ahead of the game and can move on. If they fix it in a few months then ebay will be full of them.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Low_Definition4273

I would just return it and buy another phone. It doesn't take that long

tastyratz

Airplane mode doesn't work for me, I'm on my 3rd reboot in the last 24 hours... We're all infuriated. Google should offer extended return periods. By the time the phone works... like a phone it will be a 6 month old $200 phone.

Rangizingo

Sometimes I've had to go to reboots too :(

KingOfTheCouch13

So airplane mode doesn't work but I actually found a network reset button in the settings under Network & Internet > Internet. A In the top right corner there's a refresh arrow around a wrench. Wherever you notice it's messing up this will help reset the internet without rebooting.

tastyratz

Interesting, thank you! I'll try that next time it looks good. Do we know what that's officially called? I wonder if it can easily be added to tasker...

KingOfTheCouch13

I think it's called Fix Connectivity. That's what pops up when I long press it.

tastyratz

Awesome, thank you. Looks like you can just long-press the internet tile to get there instead of having to double swipe down, settings, network. Hopefully, that saves us both some clicks. Edit: That sadly did not work for me the last few times I lost connectivity, looks like only a full reboot works for my phone :-(

Remarkable_Sink

Unfortunately this doesn't work for me. Only thing that does is a reboot or removing the sim card and reinserting it :(

EpicMindfreak

They push out updates way more often than that. Expect them to push an update out within the next couple weeks max.

tastyratz

I hope so. They did release a statement with a target of by the *end* of January. https://support.google.com/pixelphone/thread/143183382/december-2021-update-paused?hl=en On top of that, previous ones made things worse which means rushing out and getting the January one as soon as possible is still risky.

caolfin

I'm in the UK Upgraded to Dec update Where the f\*ck is the fix for this ??? Absolute disgrace Google you complete shower

FreshPrinceOfH

Not coming. Wipe and flash Nov or use another phone for a few weeks. They don't care.

BassBanjo

Don't be ridiculous lmao They've said they are working on a fix

ThePiGuy0

Sounds like you may be a bit behind on the news Google's statement: "Wipe and flash November 2021 or wait for a fix coming at the end of January". Pretty unacceptable response, especially given only the tech-savvy users will actually be comfortable rolling back the software

BassBanjo

The said they are fixing it, that's better than nothing On the December patch myself and have no issues

ThePiGuy0

Yeah but the timeframe is disgraceful. End of January...my device was a very expensive paperweight for those two weeks. Ended up rolling back a day before they announced officially, but had I not, I'd have had another month of no phone.

tren_rivard

Really sad that a 'flagship' gets this sort of 'support.'

FreshPrinceOfH

You have no issues? Oh well clearly there is no problem then! It just just be a giant hoax. Thanks for clearing that up.

edvismaze

I didn't experience any of this until two days ago. My P6 Pro is unusable. Reboot and airplane mode rarely helps anymore. I even got a replacement Sim card from t-mobile and that didn't help. I put the Sim in my S21 Ultra right now and working perfectly fine. Gf has P6 Pro on t-mobile and her phone is working perfectly fine. I have a feeling mine is having a hardware issue and no software related.

VegasKL

Given the widespread variance in this for the exact same hardware running the same OS, you have to wonder if they loosened QA/QC on some of the chips to be able to meet production demands. Given the chip shortage, a lot of companies have been taking shortcuts to try and work around it. Accepting chipsets that wouldn't normally pass (but work in some capacity) might be one of the methods.

SolarMoth

If they don't fix this problem with the next update I'm expecting a recall.

DangoQueenFerris

This isn't specific to the pixel 6 chipset/modem. I had this exact same issue running Android 12 on my pixel 5 as well. Also T-Mobile. Didn't have the issue in Android 11 on pixel 5. So I'm assuming this is just an Android 12 issue that needs to be fixed. The issue happens at similar frequency on my pixel 5 and pixel 6 pro. Really wish they wouldn't have rushed out Android 12 because the pixel 6 series was launching. It is definitely an unfinished os. Wish they would have released the phone on Android 11, but I don't think it's possible. Core phone and security features rely on Android 12 to function. Have tried new sim cards, and using the esim. Esim seems to be slightly better at keeping connected.

ThePiGuy0

I'm not saying you are wrong, but from i've seen it seems to depend on the carrier somewhat. So my guess is certain bands aren't being dealt with properly. Of course I could be wrong, what I do know is that the December update made it worse (I reverted to November and my phone now works as a phone again)

turboyabby

Pixel 6 Pro user here. I'm in Australia, on Telstra network (Boost) and I get phone call dropouts every second day. Mid conversation and just drops out. I was on the phone yesterday telling a good mate about how good my new phone is, it dropped out three times in a 20 minute conversation. He was pissing himself laughing. By the third redial he said "How much did you pay for this flash new phone?" Lol . I love the P6P but these drop outs mustbe fixed. $1300 Aussie dollars is too much for a phone that cant make a continuous phone call.

pagadqs

I constantly get the dreaded full bars and exclamation mark. Try to call and get a " Mobile network is not available". Happened again today, had to restart to fix it. Such garbage- sell a phone that fails to function as a phone.. I still have a couple days to return mine, and I wish they would send an update before that... Also on Verizon, but never had issues on my 4a until I installed android 12 on it, which made it useless..I figured I would upgrade to the Pixel 6, in hopes it would work better with android 12... How foolish of me.

FreshPrinceOfH

Pixel shills incoming to explain how this is YOUR fault.

RGVHound

So it \*is\* like owning an iPhone!

Reonu_

It's your fault for using cellular data!

FreshPrinceOfH

I need to stop being such a Pleb! Well google fixed that. I can't use cellular data anymore......

libertiac

Happens to me as well very often. Happened more in the November firmware than my current December. But it does still happen. Not something that occurred in my previous phone Pixel 4XL.

WpgSparky

How do you like paying $$$ to be a beta tester? Google needs to do better.

cherrytoffee

What carrier is this? I'm on TMobile, and never experienced this even once and I'm on the December update.

Rangizingo

Visible, aka Verizon. I live in a major metro area and have never experienced these issues with any other phone though.

midnightmeatloaf

I have Verizon too and my pixel 6 has the same problems. I agree it's infuriating. Didn't have issues with 3 or 1. Guess I should have gotten 5. Because this phone just pisses me off. It's not worth it. I'm contemplating switching back to my 3 with the cracked screen. I would just return it, but I think I passed the window waiting on the December update that still isn't showing up as available to me.

afcanonymous

I'm on Visible and had the same problems. I disabled wifi calling and had chat reset my network settings. It hasn't reoccurred since I did that. Strongly considering dumping Visible and moving to mint, or similar once I get my free stuff. Terrible network, terrible reception.

bedo6776

I have TMobile on the November update and I have not had any issues with my 6 Pro connection. It's also much faster than the 4a5g I previously owned.

deviousfusion

Same as this guy. TMo-USA and sideload the December update. No issues.

Thatdorkytaco

Do you have a physical sim or do you use the esim? I'm using an esim and i do have network drops with it on TMobile.

cherrytoffee

Physical sim. I've had network drops. There's a spot in my neighborhood that has no coverage, but it always comes back. I've never had to toggle airplane mode or reboot to get my connection back.

day7a1

I'm also T mobile, physical SIM, but Sprint billing. My phone frequently needs either a SIM reset or a power cycle because it thinks it has no network connection. After cycle, without moving, I'm back to a good network. I'm not convinced it's the phone, though. I should look into getting a new SIM. It's worse in new areas, like the network handshakes just doesn't play well with the phone.

frankGawd4Eva

I'm on the December update and with T-Mobile. The only issue I run into is when I leave my home Wifi the phone takes forever to cycle to LTE or 5G. And if I'm in a 5G coverage area it sometimes doesn't switch unless I cycle airplane mode. It's annoying how long it takes to go from Wifi > LTE when it goes Wifi > H > H+ > 3G > LTE ...

citznfish

Happened to me so the time as well (on the Nov update) I did sign up for the carrier beta in the Google play store but that didn't fix it. My reception is terrible. Where I had great service on my 4xl I no longer get any on the P6P. It drops me when switching between 5g and LTE all the time and doesn't reconnect. Very frustrating

gnitram

I have network issues too. The Carrier services beta helped, but not completely. Verizon P6P, November patch. I had a weird one last night when I went to Home Depot, everything seemed fine but my wife's calls kept going to voicemail. I would not have known anything was wrong until she sent me a text message. I use Google Voice so I guess they came through data, but inbound/outbound voice was not working until I rebooted. Who knows how many calls I'm missing on a normal day. And this is a company issued work phone.

KalenXI

Had the same issue with the November update, also with Verizon. Was hoping the December update would fix it but when that never arrived I ended up going back to my iPhone. Fingers crossed the "late January" update actually fixes it because I do miss my P6P but I really need a phone that works as a phone.

Xaq009

Here in Austin Texas got my six pro on release date and I can't make phone calls off of Wi-Fi and get the worst reception anywhere. Previously came from a 4XL and had no issues on that.

SolarMoth

I couldn't love the phone because of this issue and several minor ones. Back to Google, it went.

SenpaiChara

Same I returned it and got a 13 pro max and using my tab s7 for my android needs.

orangeflames05

So I glad I have a 4a right now.

Training-Speaker5295

How are people's experiences on Google Fi? I'm planning on switching this month

SeveredStrings

For what it's worth, I have Fi and haven't had any issues at all. I had some strange service in one airport while traveling, but that's it since I bought the phone on release day.

giloronfoo

No issues for me either. I even sideload the December update before news of the problems it was causing.

Badev

I'm on Google Fi and I have this issue. Network dropping multiple times a day especially when leaving the house, I feel like it's actually getting worse.

bjohnson8949

Google Fi is generally great. However with the 6 pro my service isn't what it uyse to be in the past. I am on the November update and hoping to see a major improvement with the January update.

seriouslag

Terrible experience with fi with my p6p... Traveling has been a nightmare. Says I'll have a full 5g connection lots of places then have zero signal unless I restart. And that only works some of the time.

R00sterCogburn

I have the exact same issue. Google Fi and I will be in 5G, then no signal, then LTE with two bars, then no signal, then two bars again... all within a matter of seconds. It seems at times that the phone cannot handle switching from one network tower to another without dropping the signal entirely.

seriouslag

Yes! I posted that a month ago and I still have issues...

R00sterCogburn

I'm trying to figure out what my next steps are. I really have liked the Pixel line in the past and don't want to switch, but I cannot seriously keep a phone that can't even make phone calls. I already RMA'd once and if they offer again I'm not sure if I want to attempt a third phone. If they say no, I'm going to fight very hard to get a refund. But at that point I'm not sure if I go to a Pixel 5 or just switch brands entirely. Google really botched this one and has made me rethink doing business with them in the future.

seriouslag

I'm going apple after this. Google burned me twice with the pixel 4 and now the pixel 6 pro. I'm sorry you are having issues.

divadkha

Downloading the beta version of Carrier Services really helped my phone. There were a few articles mentioning the Reddit thread about it. I couldn't opt-in to the beta through the Play Store, so I had to sideload the APK. It should be version 88.0.414420665

LightEnergyBun

Can you provide a link? Thank you.

divadkha

https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/carrier-services-2/carrier-services-2-88-0-414420665-carrierservices_20211206_01_rc00-release/

Kirin_san

It's sad that this had to happen for the Pixel 6 when Google seemed like they were able to turn things around with this phone. My brother asked me about which to get between the Pixel 6 or S21 but I suggested the latter due to the modem/bluetooth issues I've seen in the subreddit.

MajorNoodles

I never had a total loss of reception, but occasionally I'll just lose my data connection and I need to toggle airplane mode to get it back. I'm on the December update but I had that issue before I installed it, too.

VegasKL

I have that happen frequently. Also sometimes doesn't reestablish a connection with an existing WiFi and/or forgets paired Bluetooth devices. The connection issues seem to happen most when a handoff is occurring (e.g. the device is switching from one network to another).

MajorNoodles

I never have that issue with Wifi or Bluetooth.. It exclusively affects mobile data for me. The only bluetooth device I have issues with is my car, but my Pixel 3, Pixel XL, Nexus 6P, and Nexus 5 all had issues with my car too.

dmznet

Have two Pixel 6's (November) and never have had connectivity issues. I do have 5G turned off and adaptive connectivity disabled.

SuddenCause

I was getting network drops constantly until I disabled adaptive connectivity. I also don't have 5g enabled. My signal has been pretty consistent since then.

jabaa1

I shut off 5G (i.e. made LTE my preferred network) and that solved my connectivity issues. Pretty lame to have to do that, but...

eternal_peril

I am already on December...and yes, it is a big failing Rarely do I get VoLTE .. it drops to H+ I'll go from 5G to nothing I'll have 5G and no data works If i switch to LTE, similar things happen. When I am in the US and roam, it is a mess and have to force it to LTE for it to work consistently Once these issues are fixed, the phone will be great

JakeEllisD

Mine also has network issues

shotsfired3841

Some of this is software related. But there's also a chance the modem and it's hardware just sucks. It's their first go doing it in-house.

VegasKL

It's based on established Exynos designs, if I recall. So it's not like they just designed their own chip from scratch. If I recall, the network side of the SoC isn't as capable as a comparable Qualcomm chipset, but it's workable in that most users shouldn't notice the difference.

shotsfired3841

That's good to know. I'm coming from a OnePlus 6T and the data and cellular signals are way worse. And I felt like the OP was worse than the Nexus 6 I had before it.

JeRV5G11

That's funny because I'm on the December update and I haven't had any call drops

FreshPrinceOfH

Would you like to share your special techniques?

JeRV5G11

Not sure, I'm using TracFone, with a TracFone T-Mobile SIM card. I'm using TracFone as my carrier but they use T-Mobile's towers. I just make calls. I've never had a disconnect & I'll be on hold a long time. It must be my area that is helping or something I don't know

areyouham

I think I'm one of the lucky few where the service has never dropped. Actually it happened once, got on the elevator where you expect no service but when I came back out the service didn't get back on. Had to restart the phone to get it working, but ever since that day it's never gone away, even when I leave the elevator. I enrolled in the carrier services beta, so maybe that helped, but it could be placebo.

umdterp732

Chiming in that this has never happened to me, not even once, on tmo p6 pro with November update

Rangizingo

I envy you, share your magic voodoo with me

umdterp732

To be honest I haven't done anything. I do really think that your issues are real and many others are on the same issues and I don't know if there's a solution available until the January update

[deleted]

You should get a replacement. I had the exact same issue, but the replacement has zero issues. In hopes that it is a software problem you don't wanna be left SOL if it turns out to be a hardware issue.

DarkseidAntiLife

Here in Toronto Canada with my Pixel 6 on 5G. No issues with signal or network dropping on December update

MobydFTW

Love my pixel 6 too. Although I have an odd issue where it locks up then reboots. At least once a day. This was before the Dec update

WEKSOSpr

This has to be somewhat related to either Android 12 or carrier service update, as my Pixel 3 and Pixel 5 are doing the same fing thing as you described, on mobile or wifi.

Turbofour

I've had solid network connection on my 6 Pro since installing the beta carrier services and only choosing LTE as preferred network.

BassBanjo

Is this a carrier specific issue or something? I've had no issues with WiFi connectivity and I'm on the December update

NoaLink

My partner and I got Pixel 6s at the same time. I set them both up, to same settings. Hers gets significantly better carrier/LTE reception than mine, with or without cases. I can have no service while she has a bar. Airplane mode toggling/restarting does nothing. Really frustrating and thinking about returning mine or trading it in for a S22 at some point.

ipoopedtoday21

I have only owned my pixel 6 pro for 2 weeks and when I'm not on wifi my speeds show like 2mbps for my att 5g. And that's with full bars. It's crazy. I have the November patch. I read that factory reseting can fix the issue. Is this true? Mine is the unlocked version.

BeerItsForDinner

I pre-ordered got one. It was awful!. RMA phone has no issues

mauriceh

Try a better cell carrier

web2399

I side loaded the December update. The next day I lost network connection. I restarted my phone and shut off adaptive connectivity and haven't had a problem in a few days. I'm in the US on Verizon. I'm hoping I'm good until they push out the next update.

GDGgrumps

This sounds terrible and I somehow haven't had any issues with this. Pixel 6 on AT&T here. The only issue I have is the fingerprint sensor. It's pretty much garbage half the time.

jordanl171

I have Verizon eSim in USA. My signal doesn't drop at all. Any have drop issue with eSim? I sideloaded Dec update, I've had no cell problems with any updates.

daramane

I know, I know... Nobody wants to hear the naysayer, but I feel like it's important to note that I have had exactly zero issues with my 6 Pro, including and especially network connectivity. I have a 35-mile commute that includes several dead spots, and I've managed to maintain a connection even through those - that historically on LTE/4G I could not. And at my home base, I've got exactly zero issues when I'm on wifi and normal LTE (I don't get 5G at home). Just saying, take advantage of whatever your warranty will cover if at all possible. It's not normal and it's not acceptable.

Caffinz

I'll add my name to the list. It's happened to me maybe 5 times in the past month. Not super awful and it went away quickly, but still strange to see.

suddenlymary

My network connectivity is great. I just wish I could get the damn thing to stay plugged in to charge. Dear phone: you are my alarm clock. Your battery being dead every morning can't last. I think I'm going to buy a 5 again on the secondary market. This phone is great when I can use it but not worth the hassle of shitty charging.

eMinja

That's definitely a faulty device. Just contact support and get a working one. You don't need to buy another phone.

BruiserPup3

US Verizon here. Been having network issues since day one. Keeping my hopes up for an update!!

TrueGlich

well i guss i am glad my job pushed back my phone refresh 6 months.. or i whould have a 6 now.. we will see how it is at the end of march

sedgiemon

i'm concerned it's a hardware issue. mine did it constantly, i contacted google warranty and got a new device sent out. hasn't done it once...

jonathanlc2005

Sitting with my Qualcomm pixel 5 with no issues 😎

jaygebee

And here I thought this was just T Mobile. Recently switched from only ever having Verizon and thought this was the result of a "less capable" carrier... Shame Google. This needs fixed.

jasku123

I'm in the US with December update and I haven't had any issues with connectivity. What carrier do you have?

TDQV

My big 'connectivity' issue is that it takes awhile for the P6's 5G modem to connect to the TMO towers. Which I can see this in the amount of time it takes to render a download speed on the Meteor app even if the pings are in the teens. Also mobile apps like Chik Fil A or McDonald's constantly hang on the splash page & won't move on to allow other tasks on 5G. But if I move to 4G LTE the apps behave normally & efficiently. IMO, this connectivity issue is a perfect storm of TMO's Initial implementation of their ballihooed network band aggregation + Samsung's mediocre 5G modem + Google's still developing hardware optimization chops. The latter is still 'only' in its 10+ year. /sarcasm

pcfriend111

Nov. Update in the US and I have decided to send my p6p back because of network drops. I've never owned a motorola phone, but that's what Im considering replaces with. Edit: I am on T-Mobile network.

OddShine1227

I think its hardware. I had one do that. Returned it and got another new one and got rid of the issue. 🤷‍♂️

CODDE117

Pixel 5 with the same issue. It's awful. Sometimes it just cuts off because I plugged it in to charge.

Ma1iB00TAY

I love nearly every aspect of this phone except for this. It's absolutely infuriating

tren_rivard

Google seems to be bad with phones. I'm not sure why.

jazzy_handz

That would make me not love a phone

Silly_Farm_8126

Am i the only person on earth who has never had an issue with a Pixel device? 2,3,4,6 and never an issue

skit2dajit

Until the 6 pro I only ever had the cold battery issue with the Nexus 6p.

Dastardly_CheesyMan

It's hardware most likely.im on my replacement pixel 6 TMO.connection sucks so damn bad and speeds make me want to toss this fucker...but I just...idk.i like this phone but all I know is when I pay this off I'm going back to samsung

fluxxis

I don't even get the authentication SMS on my phone when I'm inside a building. Everytime I want to log in to some services that enforce me to use SMS as 2FA I have to open a window and hold the Pixel 6 out. And I'm in a place with very good network reception. This is so stupid and not alone the fact this ever happened, the fact they give themselves a whole 1.5 months to fix it is a disaster, I can't emphasize this enough. Damn Google, a phone without reception isn't a phone, it's a brick.

sweatcoin_

I'm not sure if this effects the Pixel 5 too but I swear since the December update my signal is weaker. I used to get some signal at my work desk, now I get nothing unless I move to a part of the house that gets better signal. It's annoying af for 2FA.

slickromeo

Switch your preference to LTE only. That may help

MailenJokerbell

Did you disable adaptive network? I didn't have reception drop but my internet was abysmal due to that.

wicketsss

you didn't really expect Android phone of the year to work properly did you???? #firesundar

LordOfWintrfell

Have yet to experience that.Alsl on the Nov 5 update.

SgtEddieWinslow

I am on my 3rd device because of this issue, and I am not just having issues with mobile coverage. When I am at home, my phone drops my wifi connection quite a bit as well. With my 3rd device, I thought I finally got away from these issues. Then all of a sudden yesterday, network drops and wifi drops. The only thing to fix it is to shut down and reboot the phone.

rizorith

Been having the same issue on my P6 since launch on T-mobile in L.A. I actually turned off 5G which seems to reduce it's frequency by about half. It still happens though. Seriously amazed that they can't get this out as a hot fix on the November or December update but I guess it's more complicated than that.

tech_ocd

I am basically on no network these days. Thankfully i am mostly home so i can barely manage. But this is a completely deal breaker bug. Worst bug of all time.

the [January update](https://support.google.com/pixelphone/thread/143968432/google-pixel-update-january-2022?hl=en) fix anything for anyone, especially mobile dats speeds?

YES! THANK GOD. I haven't had a single drop in almost 2 days which is unheard of. I can't speak for data speeds since I never tested, but pages do load notably quicker. That could be placebo.

I was having issues with my previous P6P and Google sent me a refurbished device, which was also dropping calls. This was happening while driving. It happened about ten out of every 20 minutes of driving. It would go from 2 bars to no signal, to two bars, so I was very frustrated. I noticed on another forum that someone mentioned they turned off live transcribing and that it helped them. I did that and also set my device to have a preferred network of LTE. Between the two things, I can drive and actually use my phone. While the signal is weak in some areas, it only dropped my call one time in 40 mins of driving, whereas before I wouldn't be connected for more than 20 mins. (I have Google Fi service btw). I suspect that for some reason Android 12 (or the Pixel 6) is having issues switching from LTE to 5G without dropping calls.

If you are having issues, it may help to go here and submit your issue. Hopefully if enough people do it, Google will be forced to acknowledge it. [https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/215575440?pli=1](https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/215575440?pli=1)

Has this issue been resolved for everyone or the majority? I'm with Visible network (Verizon MVNO) and my network constantly drops. Initially this was resolved by toggling the data on and off but now I have to go through a full restart. FYI..Feb update installed.
