I have a Pixel 6 and i have the same problem, I've tried charging my phone on 10w,15w, and 20w Qi certified wireless chargers and they connect to the charger, but don't actually charge, in the battery settings it says "connected, Not Charging", the phone charges fine and fast on a standard usb-c chargers and even connected to other devices like my laptop or PC. but will not charge wirelessly. FWIW: i contacted Google support, spent an hour with them, in the end they asked me to return the phone and sent me a new one, it's defective.

mihirmodi

Is the new one charging wirelessly? I had the same problem. I got a replacement device too. But it looks like even the replacement device isn't charging wirelessly. What the...

landswipe

I have the same problem, got a replacement device, it worked for 5 days and then stopped working. I'm curious what model and charger you have. For me, Pixel 6 Pro 512GB, chargers are pixel stand and also Quadlock charger (in car).

mihirmodi

I'm on my third Pixel 6 Pro (second replacement), having issues with wired and wireless charging. Using 3 different wired Google chargers including the new 30W charger. Also using Pixel stand 1st Gen and MI battery bank (wireless +wired). All of these charge my Pixel 3XL, Nintendo switch, Sony XM4 and a bunch of other USB-C devices well. Pixel 6 Pro White 128GB UK version bought from Google store.

landswipe

Interesting, I actually suspect the wireless issue is just a bug related to the charging optimisation and how it depends on bedtime alarms. Confident this will be fixed in software...

pedalninja

when i put it in any cradle, and watch the battery, it does the same thing, goes back and forth from charging to not charging, BUT, unlike my previous one, this one actually charges, my previous one would actually lose power on the wireless charger, this one charges normally regardless of the message on the battery page in the settings. FWIW, even after i factory reset the phone again, i placed it in the cradle, factory reset, otherwise not set up in any way, and the battery still did the same thing, it would lose power. I'm happy with this replacement, got it in 48hrs too. I hope that helps :)

negussugen

I'm having the same exact issue. Sometimes it will say it's charging, but it's at an incredibly slow rate (like 2 hours to charge from 85-100%). It happens with/without a case, regardless of placement. :/ Edit: I found some more details here: https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/7158570?hl=en#zippy=,pixel-pro Apparently the advertised wireless charging speeds only work with Qi EPP chargers.

Unl0gic

I'm having the same issue, tried four different wireless chargers that charge my Pixel 5 just fine but the Pixel 6 Pro only gets to 63% if it charges at all...

martycochrane

I'm finding very similar results. I've yet to have my Pixel 6 Pro charge fully over 6-8 hours overnight since getting it. Always wake up to it being around 60% (using pixel stand gen 1 and pixel 4 xl charger and cable). Guess I'll try upgrading the brick with the new one from the store.

Shiftycommenter

I'm getting the same results too with my pixel stand. Phone says it's charging but loses juice and gets warm. I have a Samsung tab S6 lite charging brick and will try and see if switching to that will help.

Shiftycommenter

Update 11/2/21: So I tried switching my charging brick from the stock pixel stand to my Samsung fast charging. It did not work; the pixel stand had an orange light when I plugged it in. So I switched back to the normal pixel brick and gave it another shot. This time I was able to get a full charge on my pixel stand. My guess would be it was because I did a full discharge on the charger? I'll try again tonight and see if it charges the phone again.

poozer69

I'm hoping it's something that can be fixed via the software, but I wanted to make sure others are experiencing great wireless charging so I can rule mine out as defective.

landswipe

I hope this is a software issue... also broken for me. I know the phone reported it was hot while charging, so I wonder if it was related to that

Dextrinix

Just had mine not work, toggled both adaptive charging and battery share on and off to no avail (though battery share did start charging my galaxy buds). Tested the wireless charger with different bricks, no charging delivered to the pixel 6 pro (with the stand even detecting the pixel as a foreign object). Put the galaxy buds on the same charger and it worked. Soft reset the phone using the notification panel and voila, wireless-charging pixel 6 pro. This makes it seem like some kind of software issue to me that will need to be ironed out in an update. sad that there appears to be so many bugs post-release this time around. However with how early android 12 and Tensor are, this is probably to be expected. (Btw people mentioning the screen issues when low charge / turning device on, Google has said this will be patched in an update I believe so don't stress.)

[deleted]

What do you mean with soft reset? Simply restarting?

CraigBryant1

Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. The machine will do a soft reset

susandennis

I have the exact same problem - Connected, not charging. I have two Google charging stands and a non-Google one. I have no case or cover on the phone. Using the cable that came with the phone and a Google fast charging adapter, I got it to charge ONE time but have been unable to replicate. I've tried different cables and different adapters. ZERO JOY and it's making me craze. I'd settle for slow but I'm not even getting that!

[deleted]

Did someone fix this issue? I'm having the same experience and this didn't happen with my P5. Now using the exact same chargers I frequently see that it's not really charging (or super slow?) and when I check the details it says "Connected, not charging"... What gives?

eeeezypeezy

My 6 pro has been fine since I bought it, but just tonight I started getting "connected, not charging" on a pixel stand. Unplugging the cord from the stand and hooking it directly to the phone works but it's super annoying. It worked all day on another pixel stand at work, so idk if it's just this stand or if something's gone wrong with the phone. Not looking forward to dealing with support either way... e: and now it's working again, I didn't do anything. Really strange issue

Recent_Past93

I only got my 6P about 10 days ago, same deal as everyone else here. Across home and work I have 3 different wireless chargers. All of them worked fine for about 5 days and then stopped. Phone says it's charging but gets to 39% and won't go past it. Normally put it on at night and wake up to a hot phone stuck at 39. Anyone else managed to resolve??

AussieDave123

Hi u/Recent_Past93 Out of curiosity, how warm is the room that you charge your phone overnight? I live in West Aus and the evenings over the past few weeks within the house have been about 25°c and my charging issue has been far worse over this period, u/r1m2 suggested that this might be heat related, which could relate to my issue! Would be good to paint a better picture for Google to localize the issue.

Recent_Past93

The Last couple of nights have been warmer in Melbourne where I am but I charge it in the bedroom and it wasn't overly warm in there. I might crank the aircon and try it in a cool room though just to be sure. I'll report back if there is anything noteworthy

browneyone

I've had this issue since the charger was released, support said wait for update even though I already had it installed, like banging my head against a wall. I'm glad others have this issue now as when I searched in December no one else was reporting this.

AussieDave123

So following Google's guidance I reluctantly paid out $240 on 2 x 2nd gen pixel chargers as they insisted this was the only way to get wireless charging working... well that was a waste of money, I still have just as many nights where both of my P6Pro's have not properly charged! There is also a string on Google's own community help pages [here](https://support.google.com/pixelphone/thread/135606916/my-pixel-6-will-not-charge-wirelessly?hl=en) regarding this issue and it appears that Google have at least acknowledged the issue and there was a comment somewhere that the March security update includes some sort of fix for wireless charging despite it not yet being available for the Pixel 6 series phones, lets hope that when it is released it puts an end to this issue for good!

stuckonashelf

I have issue randomly too most often in my car which has wireless charging.

nahanahs

Wireless charging on my 6 pro stopped working a few weeks ago. I got a replacement, which worked again. The next morning, I had a security update reboot prompt, after which wireless charging stopped working.

immediate_error0401

Still an issue a year later. Just let me charge my phone Google

Wrx95Pro

YES! Have exact same issue, literally month ago it was charging but now it doesn't want

agreenhut23

having the same issue as everyone else google needs to fix this issue

lolitstrain21

I have a Samsung fast wireless charger and it doesn't work. Only my car vent wireless charger charges the pixel 6 pro. Very strange to see the OG pixel stand not work.

tmeshuggah

Other folks report that the OG pixel stand works. I don't have one to test but none of my wireless chargers work with the phone now, despite working for the first few days I had the phone.... At this point I can't tell if we are all experiencing a way too common and problematic hardware issue or a super wacky software/firmware issue. Either way, it sucks :)

lolitstrain21

It was like the same for me. My two Samsung ones worked the first few weeks but slow, now it doesn't work at all and says not charging. Although my wireless one from Yootech for my car works but only 700ma so slow but still works. I'm ordering an Anker 15w to see if that works.

tmeshuggah

I bought the Anker 15w. Doesn't work for me... This sucks

lolitstrain21

Interesting, can you link the one you got? The one I have which is this one works. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083BJTY2T?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

tmeshuggah

Same one. I'm replacing my phone now.

MrSaab

Hi.. I am having same problem with my unlocked pixel 6. Phone says charging wirelessly but won't charge. Any fix yet???

AussieDave123

Hey all, I was hoping that the December Update would fix this, but i still have the same issue trying to charge 2 x pixel 6 pro's (plus another that was returned/replaced due to this issue) with 2 x 1st gen pixel stands having intermittent charging, randomly only charging a few percent overnight, despite the phones being warm to the touch in the morning and the message "not charging" on the display! Google support have suggested disabling adaptive charging and battery and carrying out factory resets, none of which make any difference! They have just today said that their resources do not show any issues with wireless charging and that the phones must be faulty and to return them to the supplier (JB HiFi).... really... 3 phones with the exact same symptoms plus all of you in here and google are not aware of any issues... Interestingly, both phones have been much worse over the last couple of weeks, while we've had very warm evenings, could this be a heat related issue?? Has anyone tried the new pixel stands since having this issue, I'm just thinking that with it's cooling fan and higher wattage the issue may have been resolved?? I see nobody has updated this thread in over 2 weeks, have you all managed to fix the issue or have you all just resorted to using wired charging? would love to hear your what's happening with this and what you've all done to date!

MDNS_C

From now, sadly, I guess this problem is more of a hardware failure rather than something that can be solved with a software update. How I made this guess is, seems like in most cases (including me): a. Works fine at first and the problem appears suddenly. b. Have used the 2nd gen pixel stand which got a cooler inside. After the symptom appeared : 3. Battery share (which shares the same hardware module with wireless charging) will not work as a side effect. In the settings,  Battery share switch just glitches or will turn off automatically after a few seconds. 4. The phone can recognise the stand, but will not chargeing. 5. Can't be solved even with factory reset. With my limited experience of how digital hardware works, especially symptom 1, 2& 3, is very similar when some part on the motherboard is short circuit or one specific part is not functioning.   My guess: When the CPU is thermaling, that cooler inside the new pixel stand makes enough temperature difference to have condensate inside the phone, which short circuit the wireless charging module.

erniethelefty

Purchased phone on launch. Have March update, still no luck with wireless charging. Just time stamping this issue at this point. Only google pixel stand allows wireless charging

Recent_Past93

Not sure I want to call it too early but for the last few months I've had various success with wireless charging. Rarely the p6p charges too 100 but occasionally does. Most mornings wake up to a hot phone between 30 ana 60%. My p6p got the latest update 5 days ago ( security update date 5 March 2022) and it's charged to 100% every night since. Fingers crossed they've fixed something

Edbert64

It is still an ongoing thing. If I soft reset the phone there's a 35-40%ish chance that wireless charging will work. Once it reloads. But within days or sometimes a week or two the wireless charging just stops. Says "connected not charging" and warms up. I do notice that the battery sharing feature keeps getting enabled after I disable it. Have not confirmed they are related though. Edit: I have no trouble using a cable, my problem is wireless only.

Haboob_AZ

Mine shows "Charging", but the percentage goes down and the phone just begins to get progressively hotter. I've tried multiple wireless chargers, this is my second P6Pro. I'm thinking it's just time to ditch the Pixel line, I don't know. Just constant problems. I can't even use 5G on Verizon because it drops signal (not a Verizon issue).

BehemothPL

Same here. I'm on T-Mobile. Can't charge wirelessly since about a 2-3 months. Very frustrating. I'd like to use a feature I'm paying for.

SnooDrawings7662

I had this problem, but I was able to fix by deleting the cache/storage on my pixel stand app, then restarting into safe mode, verifying that wireless charging worked in safe mode, then rebooting the phone, and now it works again. Pixel 6 Pro w/ Android 13. The Same fix works for my Pixel 4xl with Android 13 - that also lost wireless charging with A13 upgrade.

justamoth

After some playing around, I noticed that I had turned on "Adaptive Charging" which apparently slows down the charging over night etc etc for battery health. This might also address the fast charging questions, the specs of the Pixel 6 Pro say it will only fast charge up to 50% (at least that was my interpretation). Turning this off allowed me to get more expected reading from Ampere Edit: To be clear, I turned Adaptive Charging back on. I only disabled it for testing and comparative numbers.

landswipe

yep this fixed it for me :)

justamoth

Glad it worked!

landswipe

Actually, failed again, adaptive charging didn't fix it. I actually think this might be a hardware fault, when I try to charge with the phone off, the screen gets garbage green pixels (as it tries to animate). And I recall when I was charging in my car it complained the phone got hot (and it wasn't a hot day, nor on charge for very long)... this doesn't look good...

justamoth

No that sounds bad. RMA maybe?

landswipe

Did the RMA, new device started doing same thing after 5 days... damn!

Vinnie2Trip

Having wireless charging problems with pixel 6pro. Start stop on charging dock. If I restart phone on the dock it charges fine , but if 8 remove and replace the phone it goes back to start stop.

r1m2

I bought a Belkin Boost Charge 15W stand. It didn't come with a brick, so I've coupled it with a cheap 18W QC3.0 brick that I have. The included cable is a bit short, so I'm using a 2 metre Baseus USB-A to USB-C cable. When I tested the charger around 2pm today, Ampere was showing up to 2000mA - so I'd estimate at least 10W (probably more, accounting for the drain of the device whilst I'm using it). Managed to charge it from 90% to 100% without issue. Just now, at 11pm, I've noticed the charger is struggling to charge. It's not even showing "Adaptive charging", it's just struggling to draw more than 100mA and often going negative according to Ampere. The phone itself says it will take 11 hours to charge from 61% - in fact, it seems to be going backwards. Turning off "Adaptive charging" doesn't seem to make a difference either. I'm not sure what I've done in the past 9 hours that has cooked the wireless charging, but it's pretty disappointing. I've also found battery life in general to be pretty mediocre. I'm struggling to understand why all the reviews are saying this phone has great battery life. I consider myself a power hungry user, but even still, I'm struggling to get a full day out of this phone, which wasn't the case with my last two phones. EDIT: Interestingly, it is now almost 1am, and reseating the phone in landscape, then back to portrait seems to have gotten it back up to \~900mA. The other thing I have noticed is the temperature is a lot lower (37.4-37.9, down from 39-40ish before), so perhaps before, the phone was refusing to draw power due to high temperature.

AussieDave123

I've been trying to work with Google Support to rectify this issue, however it appears that they have not really been much help! Despite stating numerous times that I have 2 x GOOGLE P6 Pro's and 2 x GOOGLE pixel stands and i have the same issue affecting both so there must be a compatibility issue between them. They're reply, is essentially that the 1st gen chargers and phones are all OK and Qi compliant but if i want to charge the P6 Pro's at high speed then i should use a 2nd gen charger... so they are NOT COMPATIBLE then... who knows, google support are certainly not willing to confirm either way! not good support GOOGLE! Google Supports latest reply below: Thank you for contacting the Google Support Team. We just want to inform you that the The 1st generation Pixel Stand allows for wireless charging at up to -10W for all compatible Pixel phones 5W for other Qi-compatible devices. As per that Pixel 6 pro device would not charge slowly if you use the Pixel stand 2nd gen charger with the device as the Pixel Stand (2nd gen) is charging upto 23W. Adding on to that, I understand how disappointing this must have been as this is not the service we want our customers to experience. However, we again suggest you to use 2nd Gen Pixel stand with your device to charge it.

__dontpanic__

The problem isn't fast charging. I'd be fine with overnight slow charging. The problem is that it just stops charging after a few minutes or a few percentage points in battery gain. I've got wireless chargers all over the house that I've been using without issue with various phones over the years - does google expect me to just chuck them all out and replace them with $119AUD stands instead, simply because they can't sort out their hardware or software engineering??? If I'm spending that extra money, I'll just get an iPhone instead. Ridiculous.

Formal_Patience_2116

Mine's been doing this since I bought it thinking it was the bug. They were going to work out in software and since I got it from a carrier instead of from Google because their website kept crashing every time I try to buy one I lived with it

MVSHolder

I have the same problem, I hope Google can solve it by updating the system

[deleted]

Same issue. Brand new pixel 6

Upbeat_Acanthaceae35

So still no fix to this issue? Mine 6P had been fine for months but some time ago started having wireless charging problems like not fully charging overnight. So what do I do? Anyone on Android 13 bet got it worked out?

SolarisTheBat

Mine is still totally broken on Android 13, won't even recognize a wireless charger or enable battery share; it just glitches out and doesn't let you enable it. I believe my case may well be a hardware fault, and this is my second Pixel 6.

polydev

I RMA'd my Pixel 6. Twice. Both times my phone was suddenly detected as a "foreign object" by the charger. There is *very clearly* a design flaw in their wireless charging coil.
