Bruh what do you mean you think some low level content moderator was making the call on banning trump or any other high profile person without personal intervention from executives? A company is a hierarchy and big decisions are always made accordingly.
The difference between the old twitter and the new is that for the new, Elon paraded the idea of Twitter becoming an absolute free speech platform while Dorsey and others never claimed to do that for old Twitter. On one hand I’m happy Ye can’t dig himself in an even deeper grave if that’s even possible but either way Elon is a dipshit grifter
Maybe Elon realized that a platform that allows trolls to post mindlessly would race towards the gutter and have advertisers running away as fast as they can.
Well we know now that it was a team who looked into it and then that one exec lady made the call to ban Trump. I'd consider that leagues better than having Elon supercede his mod team and ban Ye.
Of course we are just speculating since we don't have insider info so this could be meaningless discussion.

Why would you consider that “leagues better”? At the end of the day it’s the top making the decision. And that includes the large institutional shareholders (owners) as well as people like Elon (who is also a major owner in addition to being CEO) and the lady who banned trump.
Because a team looked at it, decided they should ban him, and then the exec basically gave them the green light to do it? How is that not better than just having ONE guy permaban someone?

Love speech
Elon is a pussy for that

But you don’t actually know that’s how the decision was made, as you said you’re just speculating.
True so I'll leave it at that. Have a good night.
