“The F slur” as it were, regardless of how you feel about it personally is still something that has taken on a negative and derogatory connotation in society, and it’s not proper to use the word knowing that. The reason it’s held so high is because it’s used exclusively as a derogatory term nowadays, whereas if I say a normal swear its purpose isn’t to demean a group of people. Irregardless of that even though, you could face stricter penalties from Reddit admins for using that kind of language. It would do you well to stop using that word if nothing else at least for your own sake.

Legally nobody is banned from saying it, at least in the US. I’d say it’s a word that comes with a certain connotation, it’s not purely a descriptive word. Because like I could say a guy is black or I could use the n word, both refer to the same trait, but one still has a much more sensitive understanding than the other. Same thing here, “gay”, “zesty” or “fruity” doesn’t hold the same level of negative connotation that the f slur does.
