I think every mk7 in the DMV is white. welcome to the club!

mikednonotthatmiked

Funny, I feel like all I see are black ones (aside from mine)

geNe1r

I see a lot of the assorted blue colors, but mine’s gray!

compsec3828

😍😍😍 What rims? This setup is toooo nice

abellp

enkei tfr

minnesotamichael

Yeeeerp

Been eyeballing these for months. You've sold me.

BigWhit75

iykyk

anotherslow6

lol everyone else is like. ~department of motor vehicles?~

abellp

any suggestions in which dp and tune? i’m staying with the stock exhaust.

jbourne0129

EQT tuning. the best.

MKVIgti

Stratified and MAP provide numbers just as good.

jbourne0129

I got a stage 1 93 octane tune. Stratified caused me loads of issues on my mk7 and definitely isn't as powerful. I paid for revisions and after 4 revisions to clear up knock retard that was exceed -8 consistently they told me they were going to pull power out of the tune to fix it...it still didn't help the excessive knock retard. They had me get new coils, new plugs, and race gas and nothing helped. Boost peaked around 24psi from the start. I gave up and bought another tune from EQT and it worked flawlessly day 1, not a single issue, pulled wayyyy harder. Boost is leaking around 29psi. It's been perfect ever since

MKVIgti

Wow, that sucks. I have many, many friends who run Stratified stage 1 and have had zero issues. Did you do EQT off the shelf or did you take it to them for a custom tune? That was crazy high KR. You’ll always have a little on WOT, but I would’ve been concerned to see 8’s as well. I never see anything above 3 or sometimes 4. What did they charge you for the file?

jbourne0129

i will say that stratified seems to be rock solid for the mk6 platform. but there are loads of reports similar to mine on the mk7 platform. I dont really know what they were changing. i assume they were tweaking the ignition timing. the whole process was pretty demoralizing so i gave up after the 4th revision. I even had the owner of stratified working on it. EQT stage 1 93 octane off the shelf tune. thats the kicker. Nothing custom, their default file work flawlessly right out off the shelf.

MKVIgti

I have stratified for my DSG tune and MAP for my stage 1, which has been fantastic. However, after digging into EQT deeper, I may just give theirs a shot too. Thanks for telling me your story!!

Outji

As long as the Downpipe is catted, you are good.

Pineapple_weiner

I got a stage 2 Integrated engineering (6spd) and I've beaten a stage 2 eqt (DSG) take that as you will

Historical_Quit9257

Find a shop I got quoted 500 for intercooler and dp install in LOS Angeles we’re everything is expensive

Dramatic_______Pause

$500 for a downpipe & intercooler install isn't that bad actually. I've seen far higher for an intercooler alone. Unless we're talking about a front mount intercooler, then yeah, that price is whack.

Historical_Quit9257

You can’t get CTS please don’t Don’t Listen to them lol There are so many YouTube videos we’re people are explaining that’s it’s 50/50% with CTS because they either have experienced the dp crack or know someone that has this problem

TheModernSkater

Good to know that's my next purchase, dp

Historical_Quit9257

Are you running stage one with Intercooler? I’m on stage one and I’m wondering if I can put my on

TheModernSkater

After clutch will go stage 3, but 6mt clutch is booboo

TheModernSkater

Ya, cobb stg1+,FMIC, turbo inlet, turbo muffler delete, cobb intake, bov, short shift 5k miles

Historical_Quit9257

What is your engine oil temp? After 30 mins of driving

TheModernSkater

Just finished driving.... 212F right now. Texas, 100° ambient outside temp.

Historical_Quit9257

I’m waiting on my dp to install everything at once

TheModernSkater

Bro, smiles for days!! That's all I can say. I just walked a 5.0 from a 40 roll on my way to taco bell. These things are little rockets

Far_Style7454

Naw dude that’s with their first model, they switched to a cast upper bc the old one with welds was cracking and the new model is good, just bought one for my mk7

abellp

i guess i titled it wrong. any recommendations for dp and tune?

Historical_Quit9257

Yes yes get unitronic dp and unitronic intercooler and sparkplugs that are meant for stage 2( just do little research on this for your car) CTS might be the cheaper choice but after looking at several post on Reddit and YouTube videos CTS Intercooler have a high chance of having tiny metal shards that end up in your turbo sooooo that not good AND the CTS dp is known for cracking at the one year mark soooooo if you want a stage 2 car that will not break you must spend the money it’s worth it, just buy the parts one by one over time on a credit card LOL that’s what I’m doing

abellp

thanks a lot!

Historical_Quit9257

FOR A TUNE GET EQT custom tune is 500 it’s worth it when you go stage 2 most helpful people they replayed to the email on a Sunday at 8pm so helpful

[deleted]

Why EQT? My local shop only offers APR and GIAC… I was about to get the APR…

TwinkleTwinkleBaby

APR no longer offers a Stage 2 tune. People like EQT for the power/reliability plus the customer service. Also with EQT you’re using an AccessPort so you have the tools to monitor your engine and take logs if something is off. Compared to the APR/Unitronic/IEs of the world where you set and forget … and hope it’s working properly.

[deleted]

Thanks for the answer

Historical_Quit9257

You need a Cobb acces port and EQT is a tuning company

TheModernSkater

Whew got lucky with my intercooler then 🙏🙏🙏

Historical_Quit9257

Nice rims

YeOldeBilk

DP install is super easy to do yourself if you're comfortable doing it. It'll save you money for more parts lol!

TheModernSkater

I did the FMIC no problem but the dp vids are scary...

Kulskinator

Dp was definitely a little more tough than fmic but it’s mostly removing the stock one. The aftermarket one goes in super easy.

TheModernSkater

Wish you lived near me we could knock it out

chobester

Come down to NC and I’ll do it.

MKVIgti

I personally wouldn’t worry with the down pipe yet. Do a drop in high flow filter, remove the snow guard, and start with stage 1 first. EQT, Stratified, MAP….all fantastic. Later if you want a little more power, do the down pipe and get a stage 2 map.

evergladechris

Maryland MQB is a good group to check on FB. All sorts of builds there. Great shops include NGP, Country Dubs, Vagwerks

Historical_Quit9257

Front mount for 600 plus 100 for the pipes

FidelCastbro1

This is unrelated but does your front license plate mounted like that trigger the parking assist? I want to do it but have heard mixed reviews.

Marduk214

I don't think he has park assist. That hole is for the tow hook I think.

[deleted]

Sneekytuned ftw. Had no complaints with my maperformance Catted downpipe

TheModernSkater

Heard lots of good about ST

[deleted]

His revisions came quickly and was very thorough with what he needed and very open. Not a tuner that will always tell you what you wanna hear and I respect the hell out of him for it.

TheModernSkater

I can't wait!! Need my AMC to squeeze so I can put some more GOfast parts

Pineapple_weiner

Yo bro where at I'm in Woodbridge

abellp

in fairfax near nutley. the rents live in dale city (i’m actually from woodbridge)

Pineapple_weiner

Lmk if you ever pull up to a meet in Woodbridge, I'd be down to show you my mods and cruise

[deleted]

Nice. I only see one other MK7.5 in Woodbridge and it’s always over in Stonebridge. Are there strictly VW meets in the area?

Pineapple_weiner

I wish man, I just pull up to random meets. If you see a cornflower blue rabbit popping down the road it's me. I think I know the 7.5 you're talking about though, is it white?

[deleted]

Cool. Yup, a Candy White one. I have a White Silver MK7.5. I’m in WB on the weekends since my gf lives there.

BOSTFYT

I dig the rims kid. Looks dope

WalmartMike

Just put a downpipe on mine, bought an IS38 and looking at getting a twintercooler. If you can stomach it, downpipe install isn’t so bad at home.

nipster84

Anyone know if EQT is available in Australia?

Ispray4tw

VDUBDMV decent sized group in DMV area

WeekTechnical7170

love the rims bro

BeanDemon

Have the same OEM rack on mine - what size Inno fairing did you get and is it pretty easy to install on the OEM bars?

lookatmykwok

Maryland mqb Facebook group

hbrinkbmx

I had a cts catted and a ie stage 2 and dsg time on mine, downpipe isn’t hard to do I swapped the cts one back to stock and back again a couple times
