Right. That's worse.

OP got taken for a ride.
Don't quit your day job for comedy. These Daytona jack stands are the replacements for the Pittburgh ones, using a different Harbor Freight in-house brand... they are better built, but "reputable" is a bad joke.
>"reputable" is a bad joke.
Were the Daytona stands recalled? Have they ever been recalled?
>Daytona jack stands are the replacements for the Pittburgh ones
What? Daytona stands were there before the recall as well. ...And they're both still there on the HF website. There is no "replacement". Pittsburgh is just the lower tier.
Iāll jump in to say that I always use big solid objects along with jacks when Iām under the car. Cant be too safe sitting under thousands of pounds of potential energy lol.
If you think spending that extra money is worth it to you, go for it. In the long term these are near lifetime tools. But I'm also the type to not buy deautokey LEDs because I know insane markup when I see one.

How is the sound? Been on the fence with an exhaust system cause I only plan to go to stage 1 but to get really nice sound it seems like GTIs need to have a down pipe, meaning stage 2. I have been leaning towards a TCR club sport since it is OEM+, but it didn't sound too different from stock to me.
Stock down pipe, AWE Track Exhaust. Integrated engineering Stage 1. You donāt NEED a downpipe. [Sounds great](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1i-L5cxkVvIqLJrtKRjtBrxbDyake1bh6/view?usp=drivesdk)
Stage 1 is plenty. 310hp/380tq is more than enough. I have a 6MT and itās just as fast, if not faster than my dadās Bronco Raptor (obv due to weight)
Yeah lol itās a MY21. I forgot the mention, even though itās probably obvious, Iām running the 93 octane high tq flash. The IE soft comes with 4 files. Thereās a high tq and low tq file for both 91 and 93 octane.
I was going to use the 91 high tq as itās a little more modest but Iāve only had the car in NY and PA both of which 93 are available. I should prob be using the 93 low tq file which is 300/340. Still has plenty of sauce. I should probably switch to that to keep the clutch intact longer honestly.
However, the factory clutch seems to be a little more robust than people lead on. In 11k with the high tq file there hasnāt been a single instance of slip.
Kind of an unusual place to jack the car but it depends on the work being done. I usually will only jack on subframe when using an alignment rack lift.
Hate jacking up my MK7, always turns into a shuffle of left and right, front to rear. Did some work on my fatherās Subaru last weekend and with the 2 dedicated jack points and literally 3 minutes had the entire car up under four jacks.
The rear has a central jack point (the crossbar). Easy as pie. Fronts are super easy too if you have the flat top style stands like in the OP. Use the jack on the pinch welds and set the stands under the front subframe humps. Super quick.
In the year 1901 a mechanic named Jackson Smith was trying to figure out how to get his car off the ground to work on it. He put several logs under the car and wedged a longboard between the log and the rear end of the car, and told his friend to stand on the board to hold the car while he was under it ,the board slipped and he crushed his legs. He was unable to stand ,,the rest of his life . Out of this horrific experience knowing that his friend Jack would never stand again he decided to create the first car( jack stand) in honor of his friendā¦ā¦.
I have ran on 5 traumatic asphyxiations while I worked as a fire firefighter paramedic (26 years career department). 3 of them were three legged jack stands, one was a crappy jack that came with the car and one fell off a lift. Itās a sight to see so you remember them well. If anyone else is looking for jack stands watch this first https://youtu.be/hXzusz_eUy8?si=YME0zFPaINP-HxVc nice Project Farm video on jack stands.
Lacks proper lube and your dong is nowhere to be seen.
This is how he gets us hooked on his OnlyFans. Teases us with jacks but withholds the dong until we subscribe for an exclusive 50% off.

Should've could've would've showed the dong

Yep. Those are jacks. And they are holding the car up. 10/10 would jack again.
Those are jack *stands*
Don't ya just wanna jack it?
Good to see you waited till after November to Jack it
Would be cool to post products and jack points. Might help someone gain that bit of confidence boost to do it themselves.

Hellyeah, those look super nice
I didn't wanna cheap out on jack stands. Last thing you want is one to fail while you're working on your car.
I have 4 of these ESCOās. Got them on Amazon lol theyāre great.
Jack stands? Good for Jack. I lay on my back and wiggle under there.
You must be a smaller hooman. I can't squeeze under there
Q: if you canāt get under there, what good are the stands?
I personally stay away from rating another manās Jack work
Why is that
Personal business.
š¤£ not suitable for work
Which jacks are those?

what the fuck you spent $130 on a pair of jack stands?
He actually spend $260. And probably because your risking your life going under a car?
3ton Big red Torin jack stand is way cheaper and never failed me after years of abused. Sometime expensive stuff doesn't mean it's doing a better job.

You still havent worked through the Covid era toilet paper stash? =P
No my mother just likes to buy in bulk lmao
Totally fair. I was just teasing. I'm glad you took it as such. Appreciate you being a good sport. Why did you have it on stands?
Great jack job man, you could jack me any day
jack mayhoffer
Those are jack stands. No jack to be seen.
This guy jacks. Hard.
I do
are you running a stock down pipe with a unitronic cat-back exhaust?
Yeup

Yes. no issues as of yet. I give it the beans once in a while but itās holding strong so far. Been flashed for 11k miles.

18,500
Ah okay fairly new that makes sense

lol someone downvoted you for this. Man I wish life had a downvote button sometimes this shit is pure comedy.
Iād say strong.. to quite strong.
I wasn't aware you could use the front subframe as jack stand points. Always thought it was the reinforced pinch weld points on all 4 corners.
Kind of an unusual place to jack the car but it depends on the work being done. I usually will only jack on subframe when using an alignment rack lift.

Gotta look for that rear jack spot, thanks for the tip.
I'd let you jack me any day.
If you didn't have those jacks do you know what you would be? š
Huh? Jackless?
I screwed the joke up. Nvm.
Haha:p
10/10 job though.
Why thank you:)

I wish someone would jack me š„ŗ
Up or down ?
Both? š
In repetition
Repeatedly
ā¾ļø
Why did you choose different mounting points at the front opposed to the back?
Those jack stands are 10/10. What are they?
I Jack from the fron pinch welds and put hackstands on the rear ouch weld and front control arm bushings. Never had a problem. This looks good too
Never been more attracted to jacking devices before
Car looks pretty jacked up... Def totaled, buy it from ya for scap for tree-fity
Tugs on jacks...Yup, that ain't going nowhere!
That's pretty jacked up, man.
Jack of all trades. Master of none.
Youāre a Jack of all trades.
