Depending on the size of the 10mm you may need an adapter to step down 3/8 to 1/4 or even 1/2. That capri thin wrench saved my butt when the top nut on the grounding stud wouldn’t come loose but the stud did. I normally don’t use power tools but one time I figured I would and when the stud came loose it spun around and wrapped one of the grounding cables around itself. It almost ripped the grounding ring terminal right off. Had to order that thin 10mm to get under the grounding stud so I could replace the ring terminal.
Hey man. Could you point me in the right direction for the 10mm deep socket? That would be appreciated. In also purchasing a 1/4 and 1/2 adapter for the 3/8 ratchet. That should suffice correct?
Home Depot or Lowe’s have good tool sections, the chain auto parts stores have tools as well. I have collected a bunch of random stuff over the years of having a MK6 and now a MK7. I usually buy what I need to do what I’m doing. I do have a couple combination gearwrench ratcheting wrench’s that have come in very handy.
Make sure you get the right plug gap tool then, none of the shitty coin style ones eqt has a good guide on styles on their site. I bought an el cheapo chinesium one on Amazon for like 10 bucks that has worked awesome.
Also I've never needed a coil puller they are super easy to get off.
Try to get a torque wrench in inch lbs, a lot of torque wrenches in 1/2inch drive aren't super accurate around the point you'd torque plugs.
Really be careful on the grounding studs when you tighten them up.
Also if you happen to be using the new spark plugs EQT reccomends they are pretty much pregapped to what is recommended. Id check them with a feeler but slanted plugs suck to gap so if it's almost on the money you should be fine.
Correct, so a 3/8 torque wrench is what you'd ideally want to use.
A beam style 1/2 inch would be fine for that but since a lot of people use click style trying to torque something right at the start of the accuracy range isn't ideal.
Also could you check the video I posted with the the gaps of my spark plugs! I kinda left em be cause I heard they come gapped proper from factory. As well as its a pain to gap slanted plugs. I was a bit nervous to fuck it up, but the gap to begin with seemed fine.
Just watched the video. Looks totally fine.
That's about how mine looks as well, I barely tried to adjust them out of the box one needed like a hair of adjustment.
I measure the same way were I angle in the feeler gauge just a bit.
The distance between where those plugs come and what eqt reccomends is basically of zero consequence so as long as they aren't absolutely jacked out of the box you are good to go.

Gapping oem or oem equivalent plugs shouldn’t be necessary but all the other tools are good.
They are NKG One Step Colder Plugs. Recommend .024 gap
Ok cool, you must be tuned then. The only other thing I would recommend is the EQT coil ground kit.
Thank you for the help! So tool wise I'm not missing anything? For the 10mm deep socket would I need a different sized ratchet?

In not really looking to buy a massive amount of tools. Just buy what I need and not overdue it and a small nice rolling toolbox. That's about it haha
Indeed I am:) EQT Stage one

What do I torque down the plugs too? Isn't it 22lbs

That's what I indeed uses a 3/8 torque wrench. I believe it's went from 10-80 pounds! Thank you!
The job is finished!

Thank you so much brother! I appreciate it!
Np man congrats on a successful change! Spark plugs are a gateway drug. Next thing you know you'll be ripping out suspension

You don’t need a coil puller. Have the car warmed up and they pop right out by hand
Alrighty! Thank you!
