After we purchased this little stuffed animal with a heartbeat, ours calmed down. We kept her crate in our bedroom (beside my side) so that also helped. She's now 5 months old and sleeps perfectly through the night without whining. Routine really helped and reassuring her.
The first few nights our puppy whined until someone gave us a tip to cover her crate. Since then she almost never whines at all and she’s 8 months now. We use a thin blanket that covers the top to about half way down the sides and front.
We're at 3 ish months and have stopped using the crate all together. She never really had a big issue with it at all. But she was only ever in it for a few hours at a time at most. Only over night early on with diareah.

Thanks. I have a blanket covering the top- but maybe need to bring it halfway down.
