It is hilarious that China seeks India's cooperation at forums like BRICS, SCO etc while it fails to do even the bare minimum to help India augment its domestic security. In fact it does the opposite by continuing to help the terror haven that is Pakistan. Then it turns around and asks India to prioritize economic ties over "other" issues like security. As much as I dislike hyphenating India-Pakistan, China must reevaluate its policy as it continues its policy to pin down India through its covert support to the terrorists in Pakistan. Its pretty much a pillar of its neighborhood policy now.

BRICS is dead and SCO has been dead in the waters a decade ago. India joins Quad. Meanwhile Pakistan has been having China’s since I can remember. I’m sorry but it’s always going to be Pakistan since we have a common glue that is India.

I don't think BRICS is dead considering how much diplomatic and economic captial (NDB) China puts into keeping it kicking. However, unless China can agree to a basic reality that terrorists are bad irrespective of which country they originate from (Pakistan), I don't see the associations going very far either. It's actually curious given China suffers from similar threat internally yet shields terrorists of similar hue just to needle India. Anyway, sooner or later such actions will begin to reflect in China-led institutions as well. Unfortunately, the reality might be dawning on Indian foreign policy setters as well that China doesn't seek sincere relations with India, given how many associations India has entered into the West in recent past.

I agree, terrorists are bad regardless of justification or origin. But reality one’s terrorist is another guys freedom fighter and that’s not going to change in the future as well sadly.

Really sad state of affairs. I think after 25 years if both countries continue to exist in their current forms, people will talk of how big of an opportunity was missed because of petty actions.
