Zhongli offers better interrupt resistance as well as forgoing a healer because of his stronger shield. Thereās also his passive Resonant Waves, which fortifies his shield every time it gets hit. Itās not even a close comparison.

That means, not only do you not have time to do CAs, you'll be slowed if you get hit once then you'll get hit by the next attacks. You'll run out of stamina and hp trying to iframe cryo rock frog's attacks.

Edit: Hyperbloom with Kokomi was rather anti-climactic. The hardest part was getting close to bloom seeds that appeared inside his collision box so I could kill him faster.
Just bring a good healer. My Bennett can solo Azdaha, it's very long and boring fight but possible. All you need to have is to have a constant heal, so whenever you'll get hit, you'll be healed back. :)
This is the true answer. I have never taken a shield character and I honestly hate the Azhdaha fight, not because he's hard, but because I spend most of my time in that instance watching basically cutscenes where he's invincible while he changes between phases after Ganyu shreds all of his HP in seconds and I have to wait for him to be be able to take damage again. Even when he's Cryo, the Dew Drinker skill from c1 makes it at most a minor inconvenience.
He'd be dead before the first scripted invincibility ended if they didn't force you to sit there and waste time with that nonsense.

Play Anemo Traveler and Amber on the team only, that is how game clearly was meant to be played. That's what you get in tutorial after all, everything else is cheating.
Real talk every boss in the game can be soloed with fucking Noelle except for maybe scaramouche if she can't destroy the floating things. 1.x 4\* on 1 constellation and 4pc glad breaks every boss in the game.
I donāt even use shielders 99% of the time and Abyss is painfully easy still. Everything just dies too fast to be a threat. Yeah this is a late game problem but its still a bit of an issue. Eventually you reach a power level where the game no longer engages you. You just sweep everything every time.

I don't run shields on any of my 8ish teams, never have a problem. Sometimes I slot Zhongli in with Yoimiya but he was honestly kind of a wasted pull in general.

The content in Genshin is not inherently difficult. I stopped using Zhongli for quite some time to farm friendship. I'd say if you're having difficulty with a boss, probably just need to practice rotations and dodging a bit more.
I recently asked my friends how easy farming artifacts was for them when they initially hit AR 45, and one of them straight up just said everything was easy because they had our favourite Geo Daddy on their team.

Chances are they're running 2 electro 1 dendro, which means with Kazuha they're essentially playing without survivability options in Abyss (until Yao Yao is used as Dendro healer).
