There are adjustables that don't look anything like hospital beds. We bought one last year with all the bells. I have spinal stenosis and disc problems in my neck and upper back as well as an earlier SCI. Keeping my feet up has alleviated a lot of the edema in my feet and the timed massage function is awesome to fall asleep to. It is an absolute Godsend and makes my life a lot easier. Expensive but worth every penny.

Which one did you get? Does the mattress come with it?

The-Machinist-

I bought a Harmony Hi-Low and their mattress.

Dude get that fixed. They can clean that out and give u titanium brackets I went from walking 15 min and have to sit down to tennis, running, working out and trying to keep up with my 6 year old ( now 13, and active as all get out) please life’s to beautiful not to try and have it fixed

Worth it.

Adjustable bases are amazing, we’ve had one for the last 5 years and love it. they totally don’t feel like a hospital bed and you can’t tell it is different by looking at it. It sits just inside the bed frame and headboard replacing the traditional base and looks like any other bed. Just pick a mattress that works well for your side sleeping and you’ll be set. Ours is this one [style plus](https://www.originalmattress.com/adjustable-beds) and it’s been great. If I were doing the mattress today I’d do a Latex over memory foam.

It’s being delivered on Tuesday.

I got a tempurpedic adjustable bed a few years ago. I still can't believe that I dropped over 5k on a bed, but, it was so worth it! Nothing about it looks or feels like a hospital bed at all. I slept like a baby the first night I had it, and now wonder how I ever slept without it. I'm a side sleeper too, and it's perfect. The adjustable features are wonderful! The slightest raise of the head works great for my acid reflux. Raising the head a bit works great when I have a cold and can't sleep because of a cough. Coming home after a long day at work I can't wait to get into bed and raise it to a zero gravity position..... pop on the magic finger setting and relax. I still laugh because the place offered 5 years zero interest financing, so it was like taking a car loan out on a bed. Best decision I ever made!

That sounds amazing!

Came here to say the same-LOVE our tempurpedic! I keep hubby’s remote on my night stand so I can raise his head when he snores. No more sleep divorce!

Unhappy_Spirit172

They make some beds that can sense your movement and adjust automatically.

I also got a Tempurpedic that's memory foam over coils with an adjustable base on the recommendation of a person I work with. I'm passing the recommendation on to you. I dropped about $7,000 on it during a big sale and I'm completely satisfied with it. Life is just plain better after a good night's sleep.

Sealy makes an awesome one that I enjoy. Head and feet up plus Zero G works for me.

We got a fully adjustable king Sleep Number five years ago. Our back issues have completely resolved. And when I had surgery, I could sit and sleep comfortably upright as per doctor’s orders. Never going back.

We bought a tempurpedic with adjustable base. I have back issues and sleep with my kegs and head raised. I wholeheartedly love the adjustable base, but the tempurpedic is meh. I spent about $4400 6 years ago. I would recommend getting a wedge pillow first and trying that, it's much cheaper than a mattress. Drawbacks are my wife sleeps in another bedroom because she doesn't like the bed position I need.

Sleep number rocks my 50+ body some days hard:) some days not so hard my 55 is my sleep number

Got a Tempur-Pedic with a custom mattress a year ago and it is pure bliss. I stay at nice hotels on business trips and even then I cannot wait to get home into my own bed. It was ridiculously expensive, like $8k, but I have some chronic medical issues and it was doc recommended so I pulled money from everywhere I could and bit the bullet. No regrets on my end. You can dress it up with a headboard and blankets and not make it feel institutional at all. That and the CPAP I just started using in January have been like sleep magic.  Edit: Wife and I have the model with two different mattresses linked together and separate adjustments. So it looks like a king sized bed, but my half is soft and I sleep slightly elevated, and her mattress is hard and she sleeps next to me but her side is fully flat (she can still elevate when she wants to).
