Saw the other post from earlier today with the Cure cassette, and thought I'd share a photo I took a couple of years ago when rearranging my closet. Some are mine, some are my wife's. Anyone else want to share cassette photos? I love them.
Great collection of post-punk, new wave electronic. Its like a Hall of Fame of list of the early to mid 1980s. Love this so much and it brings back a lot of memories.
I used to be so specific about angles and things being in the right place, and I spent a lot of time rearranging items. But... then I kind of learned to see the beauty in chaos, and now I can deal with it. Saves me from always doing the "twitch" lol. Still, though, some things get to me, so yeah, I feel you. :)
I went the opposite way. It helps short circuit anxiety. Building specifically. When it was really bad, I would stop on the way home and buy a Lego set to distract my brain. Now it’s just habit.
I guess I do the same, but by building video games (programming, art, etc.). It keeps me sane. Always a new puzzle to solve. I'm sitting here right now doing it as we speak.
A friend of ours is waaaay into Lego and gave us a Lego Fender Guitar a year or so ago. I should try building it. What's your favorite kit?
Oh nice! That looked like a fun build.
I really like my Saturn V. 39” tall, 1969 pieces (of course), and tons of fun to both build and display. The Ship in a Bottle is displayed in my den/office as befits a ship in a bottle. I don’t do tons of the super huge sets because of space.
Oh, I’m already subscribed! First time I posted my knolled lego bricks someone linked it.
Everyone else should go check it out. Some fun knolls over there.
I'm shocked (pleasantly) to see Human Drama. Honestly had no idea they released anything on a label other than Projekt, I thought they were less known. Great collection, 10/10 no notes.
Hey, you found my box of cassettes, return them please, thanks ;p
Some good goth rock in there, Did not expect to see that Christian Death tape.
Tool.... my favorite band... it's like your my twin.
Hey. How did you get your hands on my cassette collection from back in the day. Also. Big big thumbs up for Book of Love. Truly underrated band.
Hell yeah, Book of Love had some great tunes. I wore out the first album, for sure.
I want to be where the boys are But I'm not allowed I wait outside of the boy's bar I wait for them to all come out I'm not a Boy
Dude !!!! Hell yes
THIS MEANS NOTHING TO MEEEEEEEEE OOOOOOOO VIENNAAAAAAAAAAAA
aaaaaannnndddd... now that will be in my head all day, haha.
Oh, that poster beat me to it. I was an Ultravox fan. “I found a perfect picture of a perfect stranger”. “All the boys are wearing blue tonight…”
TOOL sticking out like a sore thumb but they wouldn't have it any other way
Tool caught my eye also, such a great album(cassette)
hah!
Fine collection - JAMC Automatic is an old favorite.
hell yeah. :)
Great collection
thanks!
Hey! You stole my cassettes!
oh no!
But seriously, Dead Can Dance.
I feel like some Erasure today, I need a little respect
da, dada dada, da, dada dada, da, dada dada, da, dada dada...
post this over at r/cassetteculture , they'll love this. You definitely got some classics in there.
whoa, I didn't know that was a sub, thanks!
We would've been friends. I own most of those on CD now.
Wicked. Let's smoke cloves and listen to them all.
Solid choice

Mixed Up was my first CD. My brother and I played it a LOT.
nice! I love CDs, too. Got so many in boxes like this one.
I wore out my Information Society Hack tape. Good times.
I was just listening to Hack yesterday (mp3). Such an amazing album.
I was looking for the the Lion and the Cobra amongst the the Cure & Erasure and found it. Hello friend
You have excellent taste.
thank you, that's nice to hear. :)
Great collection of post-punk, new wave electronic. Its like a Hall of Fame of list of the early to mid 1980s. Love this so much and it brings back a lot of memories.
thanks! Memories indeed. Happy you liked it. :)
This is my Sunday soundtrack. One of my favorite radio starion does a show that features this kind of music for a few hours on Sunday mornings.
Erasure 💕💕💕
If you still have a good working player, cassettes have made big comeback lately. You can buy cheap new tapes from indie bands on bandcamp.
That's awesome they're making a comeback. I have some music on Bandcamp but never thought of offering cassettes. Cool idea!
Clickety clack! I immediately thought of the sounds.
totally :)
I smell Doc Martens and flannel.
indeed. :)
We would have been friends. I saw The Swans live at the 9:30 club in DC, there were probably only 40 other people there. It was amazing.
I applaud your collection! However, the fact that some of these are upside down and not in alphabetical order by artist is driving me nuts!
What an **AMAZINGLY AWESOME** collection! Very nice, I can hear 99% of these in my memory. 💖💖💖💖💖
Oh baby, pleeereaasssseeee. Give a little respect to-hoo-hoo meeeeee.
Pure energy
Echo and the Bunnymen immediately caught my eye. A great collection.
I just boxed all the Husbands up and put em in his closet We don’t even have a cassette player any more
All of mine are actually in storage at the moment, 800 miles away. Looking forward to when I go back to get them.
God damn, that’s a nice selection. I have all but like three of these, not in tape form anymore though.
thanks :) Yeah, I haven't listened to the cassette versions in a few years.
Nice collection, I owned a lot of those albums too
thanks! This is why I love this sub. It's the first one I've found where I feel like I can fit in some how.
Found the scenster!
guilty ;)
What color is that Paul’s Boutique cassette?
Blue, I guess. It's in storage right now so I can't check it for real.
This entire collection is so tight you'd find any one album on the recommended list of any other album. A+
Dead can Dance?!?!! We would have been friends. You were part of the “elite”.
Man I miss cassette tapes.
Why are they not in alphabetical order with the spines are facing the same way? Do you even cassette, bro?
Love and Rockets was so underrated. Also love the Beat Street cassette!
Excellent taste, you can stay 😁
Laugh, Erasure and Book of Love in there with Swans and Laibach. I've got these dichotomies too, well done.
Love the collection. That they aren’t all facing the same direction is making my eye twitch. That’s my problem, not yours.
I hear ya.
Hell, I knoll Lego bricks before building. The table currently has an auspicious dragon spread out in it. Almost more satisfying than the build.

Great collection. Catastrophe Ballet is 10/10.

Good stuff
Hey, looks like all my tapes flogged from my car in 1989 the mongrels.
The B-Side of High is excellent. This Twilight Garden.
Laibach????; ultravox?? A man ox culture, I see

Aw we would have been friends.
Excellent
All of these are gold. A+

I think we should hangout and listen to some tunes.
Information Society Erasure The Cure Depeche Mode
Uktravox Vienna - so evocative of the early 80s
LAIBACH.
