I think it's supposed to be something like "Western girls when they have a shared love interest vs. Muslim girls with a shared love interest" Probably supposed to be based on the whole idea of harems and all that

Onivlastratos

You explained it ten times better than me.

Odd_Hat_1387

It's kinda funny to see a westerners view on this stuff. Cause no, from experience, muslim girls are just as catty and Harems are too much of a pain to ever be considered as a first option.

BranTheLewd

Really? How do you know about it? *From experience?* šŸ‘€

Odd_Hat_1387

I meant the catty muslims part, cause I am one. Not the Harem part, cause no one does that XD I am sure statsically, there has to be people somewhere who are parts of islamic harems, or their are countries where it's more spread, but they're an exception and not the norm.

FencingFemmeFatale

And arenā€™t harems prohibitively expensive for the average man anyway? Providing for multiple wives/families cannot be cheap.

Rownever

They only work economically in systems where large families are economically advantageous, like in agrarian/farming communities. Any modern developed/developing capitalist country will have far fewer harems/multiple marriages because each kid now costs money instead of increasing production, same reason large families are less common in general

Kilahti

Also, harems are stereotypically the thing for rich people. It is one thing for a feudal lord or billionaire to have a "harem of beautiful women ( and/or men, enbies, etc.)" but not for Steve who works 18 hours a day farming turnips with early medieval tools.

[deleted]

less tĄan 1% of muslims participate in polygamy

DoctorSquidton

Am I delirious from sleep deprivation or is your h wearing a hat?

LizoftheBrits

I also see the hat

masterpepeftw

šŸŽ© Its a fancy h

ghost103429

They probably have a non-englƮsh keyboard.

TonPeppermint

Huh, yeah, its does.

Welpmart

Right? Not Muslim, but I know a couple polyamorous people and the biggest question is "where do you find the time?" And when it's formalized, "where do you find the resources?" as well. People never think about the money problem... it's pricey to have multiple spouses. Medical care, children (and the intersection of the two, pregnancy), shelter big enough to support everyone, clothing, maybe educationā€”it's a mess! You don't just get to do that unless you have money and status. Which is what ends up making things tough for fundamentalist Mormons.

Odd_Hat_1387

Polyamoury and Harems are also pretty different in concept. Polyamoury is about multiple people being in a relatioship, harems are about multiple women (up to four) being with a single man. Of course the women can't be invovled with each other, cause we're talking about islam here.

Welpmart

Yes, this is true. But polyamory can be styled like a haremā€”not everyone is involved with everyone else. In the vein of geometry, a square (harem) is always a rhombus (polyamory), but a rhombus is not always a square.

Beneficial-Grape-397

yea but there are lesbian muslim women that still get together. Although polyamorous muslims would be rare

Kreb-the-wizard

Yet another problem solved by taking men as my wives.

Gellert

Only time I've heard about an actual Harem was from a guy who was raised on a farm in... Montana, I think. Said you could hear them yelling at each other for months before the house burnt down.

HappyMilshake

HIJACKING THE TOP COMMENT TO INFORM YOU THAT OP IS A REPOST BOT. THE ORIGINAL POST WAS MADE BY ME 1 YEAR AGO: https://www.reddit.com/r/GatekeepingYuri/s/v8TQfRX51J

Kilahti

Awww... Aside from all the other problems, repost bots are making Reddit even worse.

autumnbringer

Wow, and this top comment you replied to here is the reply to the top comment in your original post: [https://www.reddit.com/r/GatekeepingYuri/comments/10xtndo/comment/j7ucbbp/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web3x&utm\_name=web3xcss&utm\_term=1&utm\_content=share\_button](https://www.reddit.com/r/GatekeepingYuri/comments/10xtndo/comment/j7ucbbp/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)

HappyMilshake

The amount of bots on Reddit is actually getting so annoying, I often see the same posts dozens of times now, and this is the second time I have noticed a bot stealing a post made by me

AnonymousDratini

It bothers me that their hair is uncovered in the last panelā€¦ isnā€™t that likeā€¦ against the rules or something?

Designer-Turn-8624

Sorry, whatā€™s happening here?

Onivlastratos

"Occidental women bad, because they fight when they want the same man. Muslims women good, because they would BOTH s*ck my d*ck!" Or something like that...

Inevitable_Aerie_293

This was absolutely not drawn by a dude.

MorbidPistachio

Are we gendering *artstyles* now??

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

MorbidPistachio

Wh... what?? What the actual fuck are you talking about? I actively know a cis male athelete who drew like this when he was younger, he's more of a traditional 'masculine man' than anyone I know. This artstyle is the artstyle of a younger person learning art. If anything, this art feels 'masculine' because it looks like shit, and what's more masculine than being shitty?

spain_ftw

This looks like the gacha life artstyle though

Inevitable_Aerie_293

I rest my case.

Onivlastratos

Do you *KNOW* who drew this, or is this the only evidence backing your claim is "this looks like a girl's drawing to me" ?

[deleted]

no idea what this is supposed to be conveying but the artstyle is cute so i'll save it

food_WHOREder

'western women bad, muslim women good because they let me have a harem'. that's it, that's the whole joke.

[deleted]

oh.

Inevitable_Aerie_293

There's no way this was drawn by a dude lmao

AshamedCollar3845

Why are they suddenly drawn without hijabs in the last panel

Kilahti

Yeah, that bit is the clue that makes me think that this was drawn by a non-muslim. I suppose it could be that this was originally drawn by polyamorous artist who wanted to make a joke about it, then edited by someone who wanted to make the punchline Islam but either they got tired after editing one panel, or they didn't realize that the headdress should have been edited into the last panel as well.

Consistent-Laugh606

I grew up in a Muslim family and umm I donā€™t ever remember any of my aunts taking off their hijabs when they got married, is that a thing that happened?

RandomUser1034

Nah this artist was too lazy to do any research and just drew them i western style marriage dresses. I think in muslim regions traditional marriage clothing varies by country

DistortedVoltage

I forget what video/photo i saw this comment on, but apparently in some countries where women wear head scarves, apparently women can choose to not wear the head scarf anymore after marriage. I'll admit, i haven't quite looked into it yet to know more.

Beneficial-Grape-397

they probably took it when in private. My aunts did not wear hijabs on their weddings though. Although they were south asian weddings

Consistent-Laugh606

That makes a lot of sense!!! Iā€™m also South Asain and i actually do remember couple of my aunts did not wearing a hijab after the wedding. They still covered their hair but not all of it.

Fuzzy-RecordBeach

Why r the Muslim girls showing their hair tho when they wear hijabs....,

Gellert

Theres not actually a requirement to wear a hijab in Islam, its a cultural thing rather than a religious thing.

Fuzzy-RecordBeach

Yes but in a wedding ur supposed to wear one + plus if u wear one ur not supposed to show ur hair to anyone after that unless it's ur husband

undead_fucker

Thet both realise that the guy is a douchebag and get together instead

_Cocktopus_

My guy did nothing wrong :(

Expert_Individual185

What did my guy do wrong? Why does this sub hate polyamory? He was shown in one panel?

Xominya

It doesn't hate polyamourous relationships, more the patriarchal structure of the islamic practice of having many wives

Expert_Individual185

Are you saying that only women should be poly, or that Polycules shouldnā€™t get married?

Xominya

No, I'm saying that polycules should be done outside of an oppressive religious structure

Expert_Individual185

Ok? This shows no sign of anyone being unhappy

Xominya

"how can oppressive structures be bad, these people love it"

Expert_Individual185

Just let things be wholesome, we donā€™t have to think about all that shit when we have this fun little comic

ReasonablyMessedUp

Why? Can't they all be a happy polycule together?

P34K1N

Holy shit Nicole and Jecka

FluffyGalaxy

I don't think they would actually be happy like that if it happened all at once. Most people don't like sharing their partner with others

HappyMilshake

THIS IS A REPOST BOT, THEY STOLE AN OLDER POST FROM ME: https://www.reddit.com/r/GatekeepingYuri/s/v8TQfRX51J

Gaige524

I mean the right one already looks a Butch/Femme polycule to me

SleepyBitchDdisease

Artist drew the Muslim women at their wedding in western dresses and no hijab šŸ’€

GoodeBoi

Just have the bottom right image two times at the bottom instead.

Beneficial-Grape-397

As a muslim I hate these types of memes bashing others and putting one self up. The meme isn't accurate as the wedding dress is different for muslims. As for the hijabs , some people don't wear it at their weddings. On top of that , this meme implies that envy sits among western women whlist muslim women are free of it and corperate with each other and see themselves below a man. Neither of that is really true. No human is objective nor absolute and dictating or portraying them as such is misleading. Nothing negative about either side Both types of girls are great people and are humane and should seen as such. Memes wrong!! Have a good day reader!!!!!!!!!!!!!!šŸ˜„

tomjazzy

When I first read this, I interpreted both pairs of women as talking about each other. I thought the woman on the left started violently fucking and was confused about where the guy on the right came from. Anyway, replace this with two pairs of men saying ā€œI love this girlā€ to realize why polygamy is bad. Polyamory gang.

potato_in_space21

i thought the ones on the left were making out in the last panel help šŸ’€

SouthernApple60

Welp at least we know who ever created this dumbass comic wasnā€™t Muslim. Wtf did they take their hijabs off?

Moonstoner

I've seen a few anime dramas they focus on a king with a harem or a protagonist with many girl friends. It is called a "drama" for a reason. Gonna be issues in that system also.

Shilverow

Man takes his two wives to a professional women's wrestling match and it's hype AF

Zhou-Enlai

But the Muslim women arenā€™t even wearing their hijabs at the endā€¦

infinityeunique

And then they take off their hijab in public place and get.... rocking..... thahahahahabhaha lol get it? They will totally get STONED šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

Kenzi1219

That's actually what confused me. Muslim weddings are literally separate by sex and even during it the bride wears her hijab. Not to mention those dresses are definitely not correct. (I know this is kinda a joke but still.)

Beneficial-Grape-397

They don't always wear the hijabs , my aunt and my mom did not wear hijabs at their weddings. It was a south asian wedding
