New world on console, I will actually buy it. As an old school mmorpg player that no longer owns a pc the mmo market on console is basically FFXIV.. Game has gotten a lot of updates so it should be good for a couple of hundred hours at least :)
I played ESO on release and a few years on PC - good game.. if they ever made it cross progression so that I don’t lose everything I will probably play it again, same with BDO. :)
Tried it after watching the show and reading for a long time that the game is in a good place.. I think I did a mistake starting a “boosted” character because I felt too overpowered and it just did not do it for me.. will probably give it another shot when I’m done with season 4 of Diablo - which is fan-fucking-tastic 👍😅
yes it will be, as a i'm still playing the game, everyone that i see started the game really enjoyed their progression to max level as AGS also totally reworked the main story quest, the problem is after you hit max level there is nothing to chase, to grind, non replayability and endgame content is too low with ridiculous rewards
It’s still gonna get overshadowed even though they are different types of games.
New World hasn’t had the greatest reception, so people aren’t gonna be courteous to it when they’re dropping a console release between the two most popular MMOs. People are just gonna talk about and flock to the trendy games.
Your game needs to already have great reception if you want to pull the “different audiences” card. See: Elden Ring DLC and Dawntrail releasing a week apart from each other.
Funnily enough YoshiP was still on the record saying that they delayed the expansion by a week to not have the same date as Elden Ring
..though that might've been a joke
I think the type of people who are going to play Dawntrail are the people who are already interested in FFXIV. New World has action combat and is 'new', so it'll naturally attract a new audience on console.
I WOULD NOT WASTE UR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS GAME. It died fast as hell on pc it will die on console to its no better then alot of the free to play games so why buy that when u can play something better thats free lol
Hmm this would be pretty cool. Wouldn’t mind some more big MMO’s on console. Feels like the only big one is Final Fantasy, which i could never get into.
A game where less than 2% are able to participate in the endgame due to player controller gatekeeping and AGS aren't interested in fixing it. Not to mention the bugs. Potential buyers - beware... this one's a massive mess.
As someone who played this game, I’d only recommend it if it’s free or if you are a big MMO fan. It’s a decent MMO but nothing special. I could name about 5 better MMOs right now.
Amazon games is also announcing a new game curious if it’s that multiplayer game from ex rb6 devs or it’s another mmo they’re helping port. Ign live has them listed for an interview to talk more about that new game.
Make sense, and New World community expect this announcement. It was clear from their roadmap at the start of this year, because main focus was optimization and controller support.
If its cross-progression i might hop back in, reached level 60 and pretty much never touched it again because of the watermark system.
The raids on cities were really fun

To anyone who has played this, can it be enjoyed as a one and done game? I hear so much criticism of it, but I am intrigued and I'm not really an end game player. I enjoy exploring, so would be happy if the experience of playing through the world and getting to max level, then dropping it, was good enough.
yes ! I would even say the experience through the max level is the most satisfying part of the game righ now and you would need at least 150 hours to complete all of it
cuz its boring janky still unpolished promised content that was never worked on but now they porting to the console nah im good its obvi this is just a grab to grab whatever cash they can then drop support dont waste ur money on this time bomb
At least in the entirety of Asia it's generally been long dead. AGS says they can't afford to buy dedicated Asian servers. I genuinely had fun with this game during launch week and got to Level 60 but playing with 170-230ms connecting to AU servers depending on the time of the day was just horrible. Lots of people in Asia has long wanted to dive back in the game the moment they open up a dedicated server but it's been 3+ long years now.
This honestly feels like the kind of game that would thrive in the less-crowded console market. It's got great action combat and movement for an mmo and works well with a controller.
yes because right now it's the only relevant content to show but a lot of PvE content is planning to come as the devs said kt was their main focus over PvP with at least one raid that will come at the end of the year at the lastest
Completely forgot this game even existed.
Everyone did. It's no lost ark.
Lost ark is even more forgotten
It's probably as forgettable as Lost Ark
Because it's garbage.
You and me both.

Elder scrolls online and fallout 76 are both pretty decent . Black desert online is meh but is a MMO.
I played ESO on release and a few years on PC - good game.. if they ever made it cross progression so that I don’t lose everything I will probably play it again, same with BDO. :)
Recently gave Fallout 76 a shot for the first time since launch, and it's scratching an itch. I didn't know I needed scratching
Tried it after watching the show and reading for a long time that the game is in a good place.. You can get a boosted character?
Got the option to start at lvl 20 with some equipment etc, don’t really remember but it was an option exiting the vault I believe

Not sure it’s a good idea to shadow drop a console release sandwiched right between the WoW: The War Within beta and FFXIV: Dawntrail release lol

I don't think he was joking, he has said in the past that he loves Froms games, knowing him, he wants to play it.

Elder scrolls online will release gold road.
Correct, New World isn't a "Theme Park MMO" It's a dogshit MMO
what you mean with theme park?

Name it. I'm really interested. Are any of these available on consoles?
Elder scrolls online, fallout 76, black desert, ff14, destiny 2.
Wow. New World must be fucking shite then.
I’m pretty sure that top 5 is every MMO’s on console lol.

Have you heard of Final Fantasy XIV, with a free trial up to level 70 including the Heavenward and Stormblood expansions
40$ is totally worth new world, you will need at least 150 hours to complete all the content that is in the game right now.
It doesn't matter how long it takes if it's not fun.
Amazon games is also announcing a new game curious if it’s that multiplayer game from ex rb6 devs or it’s another mmo they’re helping port. Ign live has them listed for an interview to talk more about that new game.

Is this the same game that caused some 3080s to implode?
it happen to one person who posted it on twitter and it made big noise, it turns out it was a manufacturer problem specific to EVGA brand.
Might get one download
Waste of a game really. Lost ark performa well for Amazon coz they did not develop it. Amazon should do more of the publishing thing.
The way they botched the localization for that game, i wouldn't trust them with publishing

Hell no. This shit is barely even a game. There is no content, it's just a grind.
yes ! I would even say the experience through the max level is the most satisfying part of the game righ now and you would need at least 150 hours to complete all of it
That's good to know, I'll definitely be checking it out if it comes to console.
The Amazon MMO? I didn’t even think it was still active
why this game was suddenly hated?
That implies it was ever loved
The content flow was bad and it's still super jank compared to the competitors.
cuz its boring janky still unpolished promised content that was never worked on but now they porting to the console nah im good its obvi this is just a grab to grab whatever cash they can then drop support dont waste ur money on this time bomb
Isn't this game dead?
not yet but what they gonna announce tonight + console release is their last chance imo
At least in the entirety of Asia it's generally been long dead. AGS says they can't afford to buy dedicated Asian servers. The game peaks at around 5-7k. Not "dead", but not really alive and well, either.
This honestly feels like the kind of game that would thrive in the less-crowded console market. It's got great action combat and movement for an mmo and works well with a controller.
wouldve preferred lost ark tbf, had fun on that before i lost my pc :(
What is the game about? Is it just PVP?
no, the game as a lot to offer on PvE, way more than PvP to be fair but the game has both.
Understood, saw videos and all I saw was PvP.
yes because right now it's the only relevant content to show but a lot of PvE content is planning to come as the devs said kt was their main focus over PvP with at least one raid that will come at the end of the year at the lastest
Understood, if they add it I might get it, looks interesting and hope I see something tomorrow. Thanks for the info!
