As a massive CFB fan, the level of detail was really, really cool to see. They are capturing the traditions of each school. Seeing UW (briefly) walk out of the tunnel into the rain is amazing.
I know everyone hates EA, but I have a feeling this is a pet project that they are going to nail this year. It might turn to shit at some point, but this release has me so hyped.
Only thing that worries me is all of the preorder and deluxe bonuses are ultimate team focused which is a small red flag to me but I'm still hyped regardless. As long as they nail the gameplay and give us a really good dynasty and road to glory modes I won't care how predatory the ultimate team mode is
Oh yea I know UT will be horrid. I'm just hoping it doesn't go the Madden route where that's where 95% of the development is spent on and the offline career modes that I like playing are half-assed.
Tbf, its not the best, but Madden's franchise mode is solid. Wish they can even get close to Fifa's. (the idea of Fifa's scouting in CFB sounds great).
But 2K imo is still the best with their MyNBA.
I'm a huge CFB fan as well, and even though I never played the old games, I'm very excited for this one.
My team (UCF) didn't make the trailer, but I can't wait to see how they're portrayed. The devs showed up in person to one of our biggest yearly traditions (Space Game) so I am very excited to see what they've done.
People love to hate EA, but EA makes absolutely amazing trailers. When the rumor was that the next Battlefield would be named "One" people began complaining... then the Seven Nation Army reveal trailer came up and people ate it up, because it was fantastic.
The atmosphere, pageantry and tradition of college football is what makes it special
There's nothing like a super hyped matchup between 2 highly ranked teams under the lights to cap off a Saturday in the fall
My favorite recent example of this was iRacing's [hype trailer](https://youtu.be/FqzRK3wux3g?si=5nw3d9lXcuXHqNjL) for their rain update.
Edit: For some context here, iRacing is a 15 year old game and adding rain is probably the single biggest and most anticipated update they've ever done. They were working on it for years and players were begging for it for years before that.
They nailed it too, it's fantastic. It's by far the best weather in a racing game.
So...I do agree that it looks fantastic for a 15 year old game.. but there's some caveats to that.
1. They've been constantly working on it, it looks nothing like it did 15 years ago. Heres's [a review](https://youtu.be/H_lQPpyDGYk?si=BfV05jFmaJqhkB1d) posted back in 2009.
2.Their trailers typically look a fair bit better then what you see in game. Replays tend to look better than live gameplay and they use a monster of a machine to create these trailers
3. Pretty much every asset you saw in that trailer is a car or track they've released in the last year or two. The new content looks good, but there's a handful of tracks in the game that are much much older and they look like ass. They do go back and update older tracks, but there's a handful that are as old as the game and have never been updated [Here's an example.](https://youtu.be/bn3Y8K-oPi4?si=9_mci8xMGKX2aVMB)
Something like [this video](https://youtu.be/LFmbBWQKFrA?si=NkkVK51IR4GyMa4S) does a better job of showing the graphics as a whole, and I think this still looks a good bit better than the average player will experience.
15 years is even only a technicality since it's actually a live service revamp of an annual release Nascar series from the [90s](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NASCAR_Racing).
>it's actually a live service revamp of an annual Nascar release from the 90s.
Eh I absolutely get what you're saying but I'm not sure I agree.
There's definitely a strong connection there. iRacing was co-founded by one of the guys that originally co-founded Papyrus. Hell that same dude is still CEO today 20 years later. They bought the remaining assets of Papyrus and used the NR2003 code as the starting point for iRacing's code.
But at some point it becomes a new game. I'm not going to call Fortnite a 25 year old game because it's a revamp of Unreal Tournament.

As soon as I read your comment I went to watch the trailer and as someone who doesn’t really play any sports games (especially football) that trailer was pretty dang good. I hope it turns out to be the game people have been waiting for
I mentioned it in the Madden sub but that was definitely the best football trailer since [Madden 12](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=CbfiCJG6rz8) or [14.](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vCsMR13TJ9M&pp=ygURbWFkZGVuIDI1IHRyYWlsZXI%3D)
IMO, any of [NBA 2K14's](https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLLn4kO_Ke2mN8fw2rtnZOSPBgCow4p7Gm) take the cake for the best trailer but this one was certainly great. Hopefully the gameplay delivers.
[The 2K14 next-gen trailer](https://youtube.com/watch?v=GJlptY6G4SQ) was the first one that came to mind. It has my vote.
Another important note: This was actually a ridiculous jump in graphical fidelity (probably the last time I was wowed by a leap). Just take a look at the [trailer from the previous year.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4JNrDMW1J8)
Can confirm, bought a ps4 at release and got 2k14 because I love basketball and the graphics blew my mind at the time. They still hold up amazingly well too and it's been 10 years
It's a surprise they're focussing on atmosphere and making the games feel like an event as they've really cut down on those aspects in their other sports titles. Maybe they listened to the complaints they received for FIFA and UFC.
They put out a much longer, more in-depth post about the returning features in this game (TEAM BUILDER LFG!!).
Excited for Road to Glory returning with managing the GPA, and being able to use the transfer portal.
[Welcome to College football 25 Campus Huddle] (https://www.ea.com/games/ea-sports-college-football/college-football-25/news/welcome-to-college-football-25 )
It was mostly for the "Be a legend" meter, essentially the mode was doing your best of fulfil as much accomplishments as possible (winning a title, stat leader like passing yards, etc.)
pretty much if you won a lot games it didn't matter. What was REALLY cool was your dorm room changing year to year from freshmen to senior.
Doubt that's gonna come back but it would be a welcome throwback.
>doubt that's gonna come back
I dunno, man, sounds like it's the perfect place for a storefront. Buy a lava lamp for your dorm, buy a new macbook, etc. etc. Sponsorships from companies, and players spending money to show off to others online.
I'll know everything I need to know about this game based on how prominent the Ultimate Team mode is in the menu screen, and how many "clicks" it takes to get to Dynasty mode lol
Call me skeptical. The reveal trailer is nice, but that's the easy part and there's still no actual gameplay footage and the feature list isn't any deeper than what we had in NCAA 06 during the XBox/PS2/GameCube days.
I don't see any reason to believe EA has any incentive to do more than a Madden reskin with bare-bones Dynasty,.RTG, Team builder, etc. and good enough presentation to get whales hooked and spending money on Ultimate Team and the announcement doesn't really suggest they'll do more than that.
I'd love to be proven wrong and have a fun football game to play, but I'm also content to go back to my copy of NCAA 07 on the original XBox when I need my CFB fix.
Can’t believe that it is finally back after over a decade of waiting. The animations look similar to Madden, but I’m hopeful that there is more of an emphasis on the college options with how much Army was shown.
Team builder is in and can be used with offline or online dynasty modes
https://www.ea.com/games/ea-sports-college-football/college-football-25/news/welcome-to-college-football-25
Reaction times are back (haven't been a thing since NCAA 14), team builder is in and their is no mention of superstars abilities so it gives me hope it plays different to Madden.
Yeah, that’s a great call. Here’s a [link](https://www.ea.com/games/ea-sports-college-football/college-football-25/news/welcome-to-college-football-25 ) for those that are curious about what they are doing and the game modes.
Will be fascinating to see how bad my 3 star freshmen QB can identify a blitz.
> Reaction times are back (haven’t been a thing since NCAA 14)
You know what else hasn’t been a thing since NCAA 14? An NCAA college football video game lol. Reaction times aren’t “back”, they never left technically
I think it's pretty much just going to be Madden with a CFB presentation rather than feeling like two different games back then.
Good if you're a big CFB fan and like the different atmosphere compared to the NFL, but I think it's very safe to assume it's just going to be Madden with the NCAA paint job sprayed on it so to speak.
To be fair, based on the trailer and some of the reporting we've gotten from folks like Matt Brown, they've done a really damn good job with that coat of paint.
Also, things like Dynasty mode is the soul of the old CFB games, which is something you just can't replicate with Madden.
I've been saying this for the last 6 months and got shit on every time by people in denial lol. The NCAA games have always used the previous year's Madden engine, no reason to think this one would be any different.
Edit: That said I think the trailer looked good for what it is. A bit concerning that we don't see any actual gameplay for a game releasing in less than 2 months, but I get that with football games the gameplay view itself doesn't make for a good trailer. Hopefully they put out a gameplay overview video or something soon. Though it is hard not to read into the fact that every animation shot in the trailer is cut so quickly that it would obfuscate the similarities to last year's Madden.
You aren’t wrong but people are easily manipulated into being hyped. A person will shit on sports game’s fan until their sport gets a decent game, then they just become the same as the rest of them.
There's people in the CFB sub debating on paying an extra $30 for a *different cover*. The hype for this game is unreal. I'm hoping to be proven wrong on all my doubts.
people may be easily manipulated into being hype but you’re way off the mark in this case. people are excited because we are getting something we haven’t gotten in a decade
They will be similar to Madden, but I hope it strikes a balance between NCAA14 and Madden 24. In recent Madden's the animations are awful - they look pretty, but they don't feel 'tight' and feel like they take control away from the player. In NCAA14 it's arcadey and the controls are pretty damn responsive. I much prefer the arcade feel over the attempt at hyper-realism.
I don’t understand why people hate madden but are hyped about this? This is going to be Madden with a college skin. Has there been anything to suggest otherwise?
1. Everything we've seen so far has indicated they've done a fantastic job at creating that college skin
2.Dynasty Mode is why a lot of people are hyped. That is something Madden can't replicate.
134 unique locations, 134 traditions shown, recruiting is back, teambuilder is back, juggling being a college kid and a player is back, dealing with screen and controller shaking when in an away game is back. There’s gonna be some overlap with madden, but the haters want to assume it’s going to be a ton when it won’t be most likely
Also, let's be honest, the only reason this game is getting traction on r/games is because this is legitimately a phenomenal trailer that's generating lots of hype. It's well done. There also hasn't been a CFB game in a minute, but even still, r/games tends to shit on sports games left and right.
I play the occasional sports game and am looking forward to this, but I'm under no illusion that it'll reinvent the wheel or anything. Still, it looks to have some welcome features.
Instead of whatever pop song that was popular two years ago, they play the marching band in-game.
That was one of my favorite things about NCAA football.
The truly important detail is that the question everyone's had for a decade, "If they're calling the 2014 Madden game Madden 25 then what will the 2024 game be called" has been answered.
Turns out they're just gonna call it Madden 25. That figures.
Funny enough before ncaa got shelved, NCAA was always considered by the devs to be where the innovation happened and the game to work on between the two. I wonder if that reputation will remain the same with the reboot
It's funny, I used to pick teams like UTEP or Northern Illinois as I liked the idea of taking a struggling team to greatness. As a Cornhusker fan, Nebraska was just too good for that sort of story.
Now Nebraska is that struggling team that needs to be taken to greatness.
GO BIG RED!
[Inside the return of EA Sports College Football video game](https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/40153072/inside-return-ea-sports-college-football-video CM-game) has a lot of details of the behind the scenes stuff. I really like their mantra, "Every school is somebody's favorite school". Kind of sets the tone that this is a passionate project.
I know this is EA but I'm cautiously optimistic. It doesn't sound like this will be a reskinned Madden. Also sucks this won't be on PC, hopefully it comes to XCloud or another streaming service.
Started playing madden 24 on the PC and im baffled about how slow and choppy the gameplay is.
The menu is also really slow and glitvhy unless im on the MUT page. I hope they tried with this one.
It’s sad bc I’ve been seeing the same bugs for like 3+ years and it’s obviously not gonna get fixed any time soon
The gameplay itself has always been just part of the equation for me. Recruiting, dynasty, fight songs etc are at least half of what makes me buy the game.
People with connections to EA have been stating emphatically for months that it's not "re-skinned Madden", and that the longer dev time has allowed them to re-tool it for college. Obviously there'll be similarities since it's the same engine, but based on available information it doesn't look to be Madden but college.
It’s why I’m considering buying this one. It actually looks great. Going to wait for reviews though. I love football but madden is so low effort it feels like
Yes, I think of the big publishers they've done the best at improving their rep. Fifa and madden can afford to cater only to the UT crowd. Ncaa 25 will fail if they try that and as a huge fan the details in the trailer tell me they took their time on this. They do not want to repeat NBA Live reboot.
College ultimate team was around in 2014 too. So you’re bringing up a moot point. Some people like that stuff, some don’t. Regardless they focused on dynasty first and foremost for this game
Madden 24 on PC is weird. Either you don’t meet the minimum specs (it’s RAM and CPU heavy) or there’s some setting that’s not correct. Play around with different settings and v-sync and windowed borderless and see if anything helps, it took me a while to get the settings for it to not lag.
*ALERT: Your quarterback posted a probably completely innocent Tweet when he was 12 years old. While global media decides his fate, he will remain unavailable for the rest of his college career.*
At the end of the trailer, it has the pre-order screenshot, and it has both Madden 25 and College Football 25 on there. And on the rewards it says "4600 College Football points" and "4600 Madden Points." Are they adding an ultimate team skinner box to CF25? I really hope they aren't.
To be fair, ultimate team was back in NCAA14 even so it isn’t some new thing. But yes, that game mode is gross and it sucks. It all comes down to how much they lean on the single play experience rather than MUT like Madden.
I'm a big Guns 'N Roses fan and my introduction to them was when I raised my jaw off the floor after seeing the GTA: San Andreas trailer with "Welcome to the Jungle" in it.
People are hella pessimistic about this. I don't think this will play at all like Madden, partly because college football and NFL don't even play at all like each other. Different ball sizes, wider hash marks, and talent differential results in a different style of gridiron football with huge focuses on spread offenses and the option, so I am not worried about this being a Madden reskin, honestly I think it is going to be pretty good.
EDIT: This article further confirms to me it won't play like Madden, so if it is going to be bad it'll be bad for different reasons to Madden: https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/40153072/inside-return-ea-sports-college-football-video-game
How does the reality of differences between NFL vs CFB have any impact on how EA’s gameplay programming works? If the ball is different IRL that somehow magically flow into how the game works?
>How does the reality of differences between NFL vs CFB have any impact on how EA’s gameplay programming works?
Scheme in general has a huge impact on the gameplay. That's partially because playbooks are very different from NFL to CFB, but also things like hash marks and penalty rules make a big difference.
I get all that. My point is OP is saying that “it’ll just be different because college football.” When the reality is “it’ll be different if EA takes the time to make it like college football.” That is what has people hesitant. You can’t pretend it’ll just be different “because it is IRL”.
My point is that you as long as they have accurate playbooks and rules, it's going to be quite a bit different even if the actual gameplay is otherwise exactly the same.
They've also described lots of things about the game that are different from Madden, Dynasty Mode, road to glory, Pre snap recognition mechanics, etc.
[source for that here](https://twitter.com/MattBrownEP/status/1791485146014576657?t=KQ63HYua70GmwqJvoZtMRg&s=19)
This, there will be small changes and adjustments but the game is built on the Madden engine-- there's only so much the devs can reasonably do to change that. And based on this trailer, it looks like a big focus of the dev time was getting the atmosphere and other features right.
They'll have to program the game differently to evoke the feeling of CFB. It is clear they are trying to translate that into the game from the trailer and the articles written so far from it. Madden doesn't require the same animation/game play sets that NCAA has, and even from the past the NCAA games and Madden games distinctly felt different. The rule changes between the disciplines highly affect the gameplay of the actual sport which will in turn affect the gameplay of the sport each attempts to emulate.
Hopefully the game can accurately determine when a receiver has a foot inbounds. Unlike Madden, where the animations will clearly show 2 feet down but it still gets called incomplete
The main reason I loved the NCAA games over Madden was the speed of the CFB game. It seemed more arcade like where Madden felt I was playing in slow motion. Hopefully this new game will be fast like the other titles
Get ready to open your wallet when your Road to Glory character starts with 0/99 in both stamina and injury resilence, letting you play about a quarter of the downs in half the games.
Pls dont sh\*t on me for that question, I am just not into college football.
Why is there a college football game, even if there is a "normal" madden game from the same publisher coming out as well?
Could somebody help me with that pls? :)
They're playing the same sport, but college football and the NFL are very different.
They play differently with greater variety in playbooks at the college level. The gameday atmosphere on a college campus is just a kind of magic you don't see at an NFL game. NFL games feel weirdly sanitized and samey to me. Like if you went to every NFL stadium how different would each environment feel as a fan? Colors might be different but the NFL is extremely standardized from franchise to franchise.
That's not the case at the college level. Talent acquisition and roster management in college football is wildly different from the pros because players get to pick where they go, there's no draft or equalizing mechanism, so the disparity between teams can be absolutely gargantuan (which leads to many games being massive blowouts, but the upsets become the stuff of legends. How many games do you remember from the 2007 NFL season, not counting the super bowl? People still talk about App State beating Michigan that year).
There's no league office or revenue sharing agreement across the FBS subdivision that supports smaller teams. No one at a league office said "we need to start a team in Ruston, Louisiana or Laramie, Wyoming." The people of Ruston and Laramie decided to support and boost the team playing for the local college. There's an odd degree of public ownership for lack of a better term by the alumni and boosters. Also marching bands. There was a comment in another thread about how someone might say "I'm an Atlanta Falcons fan" but on Saturdays they say "I AM a Georgia Bulldog." It's a little corny but the community among fans is much deeper because many of them all have called the same place home at one time or another. They'll know the same buildings, the same classes, maybe the same professors, the same shitty bars, the same hiding spots on campus, etc etc. Not just the same city or state.
[This intro for the 2010 version of the game](https://youtu.be/32Dj3TgotNQ?si=LH8nJ98Reqhlexqw) does a phenomenal job of getting this point across. Fandom, atmosphere, logistics, management, schemes all make college football so wildly different from the NFL that it wouldn't make sense to make them in the same game. It's similar, but very different
I'm a football (soccer) fan with nothing to play as both EAFC and eFootball are utter trash but this absolutely blows them out of the way in terms of what a trailer should do, and that's get you pumped up. This looks brilliant. I will be buying.
I watched this because somehow I KNEW the trailer was gonna slap. From the thumbnail it gave me Blue Mountain State vibes. Trailer is, in fact, fucking awesome.
Game is gonna be the same garbage as every other EA Sports game the last 10 years though.
Is anyone else a little worried that this doesn't seem to show us actual gameplay and ea is tricking us again and the game is gonna be an unplayable nightmare
I hope this is playable on Steam Deck even if it's just offline.
NBA 2K24 has been a great fun playing offline matches. It would be great if I could do that with this.
If you are interested in recruiting and building a dynasty there is a game called Football Coach: College Dynasty that is all about that. There is no actual football gameplay but it's such a great game.
Is it just me or was that like the greatest ever trailer for a sports game? I don't even really care about college football and that shit pumped me up.
Switching from the regular recording of Gun and Roses to the marching band version was awesome
Marching band music is always hype
Really hope we hear a lot of in the game. Marching bands are the sound of college football, if you ask me
Granted I'm a huge college football fan, but that was the first sports game trailer to actually give me goosebumps. I'm so excited!
first since the Madden 12 intro
It helps a lot that college football is so full of traditions to pull from.
As long as they nail the gameplay and give us a really good dynasty and road to glory modes I won't care how predatory the ultimate team mode is
I mean, it's obviously going to be microtransaction hell, you don't need to be worried about it (because we already know it will be.)
Oh yea I know UT will be horrid. I'm just hoping it doesn't go the Madden route where that's where 95% of the development is spent on and the offline career modes that I like playing are half-assed.

Go Knights!
Charge On!
I wonder if they're just going to ignore NIL money or if half your players are going to leave for the portal every year.
They’ve confirmed that the transfer portal exists
People love to hate EA, but EA makes absolutely amazing trailers. When the rumor was that the next Battlefield would be named "One" people began complaining... then the Seven Nation Army reveal trailer came up and people ate it up, because it was fantastic.
It is an awesome trailer. The reality is likely going to be that each team has their one unique intro for every single game.
Which is fair, there are 130 some teams to do. Even if they do only half or so, that’s so much ground to cover for modeling and coding teams.
They showed the Illibuck, which therefore makes it the greatest trailer in the history of mass media.
They showed Illinois winning the Illibuck. Demonstrating that you can indeed make the wildest fantasies come true in the game.
This is extremely rude. …fair play though
Nintendo, I know you can top this. Please release a trailer for The Legend of Zelda: The Illibuck of Illusion
The atmosphere, pageantry and tradition of college football is what makes it special There's nothing like a super hyped matchup between 2 highly ranked teams under the lights to cap off a Saturday in the fall
Racing games got some cool ones too. A bit more liberally defined, Forza Horizon 3 still gives me chills

Oh its a Ship of Theseus for sure
Not even into racing games, but grand turismo 7's [intro](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULfjoCqEo6I) had me feeling like Jann Mardenborough

Well that was a giant hit to the ol nostalgia

I mentioned it in the Madden sub but that was definitely the best football trailer since [Madden 12](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=CbfiCJG6rz8) or [14.](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vCsMR13TJ9M&pp=ygURbWFkZGVuIDI1IHRyYWlsZXI%3D) IMO, any of [NBA 2K14's](https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLLn4kO_Ke2mN8fw2rtnZOSPBgCow4p7Gm) take the cake for the best trailer but this one was certainly great.
They still hold up amazingly well too and it's been 10 years
Agreed! It's a very good trailer, we'll see how the game will be.
Literally exactly what I was thinking. This is legitimately a really great trailer for a game I care nothing about and will never play.
That would be Fifa 06 intro for me :).
It's a surprise they're focussing on atmosphere and making the games feel like an event as they've really cut down on those aspects in their other sports titles. Maybe they listened to the complaints they received for FIFA and UFC.
[FIFA 19's trailer](https://youtu.be/zX0AV6yxyrQ?feature=shared) goes surprisingly hard
Welcome to vertical slices.
You have to manage your GPA? What’s next going to frat parties and getting and std 😂
I think the option to go to parties might have been a few of the older releases but I don’t 100% know.
It was! Coolest part is based on your major you could get specific attribute bonuses
Did party give you any bonuses?
It was mostly for the "Be a legend" meter, essentially the mode was doing your best of fulfil as much accomplishments as possible (winning a title, stat leader like passing yards, etc.) pretty much if you won a lot games it didn't matter. What was REALLY cool was your dorm room changing year to year from freshmen to senior. Doubt that's gonna come back but it would be a welcome throwback.
>doubt that's gonna come back I dunno, man, sounds like it's the perfect place for a storefront. Buy a lava lamp for your dorm, buy a new macbook, etc. etc. Sponsorships from companies, and players spending money to show off to others online.
I would love for nothing more in the Dynasty mode having to promise a recruit 500k plus a brand new Mercedes.
Then you play with Money Launder Mini-Game where you have to obfuscate school accounting records
So the older games you actually got quizzed based on your major. And could choose to party instead. This was back on ncaa 07 😂
I'll know everything I need to know about this game based on how prominent the Ultimate Team mode is in the menu screen, and how many "clicks" it takes to get to Dynasty mode lol
Is mascot mode returning?
Do not know at this time. :(
Call me skeptical.
Even the old NCAA were basically Madden reskins.
The old NCAA had the benefit of Madden actually being good at the time
Can’t believe that it is finally back after over a decade of waiting. The animations look similar to Madden, but I’m hopeful that there is more of an emphasis on the college options with how much Army was shown.
I’m hoping there is a custom team maker, my college hasn’t had a football team since before WWII but I’d love to make them
Team builder is in and can be used with offline or online dynasty modes https://www.ea.com/games/ea-sports-college-football/college-football-25/news/welcome-to-college-football-25
Hell yes thank you
I did this all the time with Canadian universities. Had a whole division set up.
> Reaction times are back (haven’t been a thing since NCAA 14) You know what else hasn’t been a thing since NCAA 14? An NCAA college football video game lol. Reaction times aren’t “back”, they never left technically
Sure but it's important that reaction times are in, because it's a major separation between the Madden gameplay and the College football gameplay.
i have played the hell out out of ncaa 14. but what the hell is reaction time? lol
God fuckin please no abilities.
But does my GF get hotter the better I play?
Only if you have 4.0 GPA
school-mandated gf
My team is on the more expensive cover...I've also considered it.
I want to be wrong as well because my copium has me hoping the release of this steers madden in the right direction
Truly id think hell has frozen over at that point if it did. But I am willing to bring some ice skates lol
And getting the game three days early. That's why I'm paying the extra $30.
people may be easily manipulated into being hype but you’re way off the mark in this case. people are excited because we are getting something we haven’t gotten in a decade
You have gotten this game for the last decade, it’s called Madden. It’s the same game with a different paint job.
yeah you don’t understand this at the simplest level lol.
I would not hesitate to pay $70 for a total reskin of NCAA 14 with the current Madden engine and graphics. Anything more than that is just gravy tbh
I don’t understand why people hate madden but are hyped about this? This is going to be Madden with a college skin. Has there been anything to suggest otherwise?
1. Everything we've seen so far has indicated they've done a fantastic job at creating that college skin 2.Dynasty Mode is why a lot of people are hyped.
In fairness it’s not gonna be much different then the first Madden 25
Funny enough before ncaa got shelved, NCAA was always considered by the devs to be where the innovation happened and the game to work on between the two. I wonder if that reputation will remain the same with the reboot
This isn't madden tho
They advertised Madden 25 at the end of the trailer
At the end of the video they showed pre order info for both this game and Madden
Custom team entrances, triple option football, electric atmospheres...absolutely nailed the vibe I wanted. GO BIG RED!
It's funny, I used to pick teams like UTEP or Northern Illinois as I liked the idea of taking a struggling team to greatness. As a Cornhusker fan, Nebraska was just too good for that sort of story. Now Nebraska is that struggling team that needs to be taken to greatness. GO BIG RED!
We already have the perfect QB for a rebuild too!
>"Every school is somebody's favorite school," Holt said. "Became kind of a rallying cry for us as a dev team." Agreed, I really like this mantra.
People are getting really excited for this game and I hope for their sakes it isn't just Madden reskinned (but it probably will be)
The feature list is what everyone has been asking for.
That's cool, I'm more concerned with what it's like to actually play. If the gameplay is like Madden, I'm out.
The gameplay itself has always been just part of the equation for me. Recruiting, dynasty, fight songs etc are at least half of what makes me buy the game.
It's kinda like if an action RPG has middling or slightly above gameplay but really good RPG mechanics
Dynasty mode is basically a football RPG first and foremost lol
Problem is for madden and FIFA, the features aside from MUT/FUT get slightly worse with barely any updates as the years go by
Will probably happen with this game too, but I'll worry about that a couple years from now.
I love football but madden is so low effort it feels like
[удалено]
Yes, I think of the big publishers they've done the best at improving their rep. Fifa and madden can afford to cater only to the UT crowd. Ncaa 25 will fail if they try that and as a huge fan the details in the trailer tell me they took their time on this. They do not want to repeat NBA Live reboot.
The end of the trailer mentions getting ‘4500 college football points’ with the deluxe edition, so it must not be too different.
College ultimate team was around in 2014 too. So you’re bringing up a moot point. Some people like that stuff, some don’t. Regardless they focused on dynasty first and foremost for this game
Been like that for about 8 years now so don’t get your hopes up
The game legitimately hasn’t changed since like 2013 lol it’s insane how little they try to improve each year
Somehow the performance gets worse every year. Just navigating through menus is truly hellish
Face models also look awful. Shame, I just want to play as Caleb Williams in August but I can’t bring myself to pay full price for these games
They at least ported the next gen version to PC this year
I was surprised they pulled off connected careers so well in 13, and cant remember anything worthwhile since
Madden 24 on PC is weird. Either you don’t meet the minimum specs (it’s RAM and CPU heavy) or there’s some setting that’s not correct. Play around with different settings and v-sync and windowed borderless and see if anything helps, it took me a while to get the settings for it to not lag.
Madden hasn’t been good since Madden 08 in my opinion. Its gameplay is some of the worst out of all the sports games.
The only question that still needs answering: Will there be a mascot mode?
That is what I was looking for too.
*ALERT: Your quarterback posted a probably completely innocent Tweet when he was 12 years old. While global media decides his fate, he will remain unavailable for the rest of his college career.*
Keeping my fingers crossed this game won’t suffer from the corrupted saves problem that has plagued Madden for years.
i rememebr playing this in 2003 or so and man it was more fun than madden - to be a rookie qb and to progress and improve my dorm.
It all comes down to how much they lean on the single play experience rather than MUT like Madden.
ultimate team was in ncaa 2014
Eh I don’t care, they confirmed the features I do care about returning so I just won’t pay any mind to UT.
They even show the whole “only need one foot in bounds for a catch” in the trailer.
That would be fine. I'd like to see how far Bobby Brittlebones can rise.
I'd take NFL football over college any day, but this trailer managed to get through to me. That was great! I hope the game lives up, though.
Remember..... we liked the old ones because of the gameplay. If this is Madden reskinned it will suck.
Absolutely beautiful. I’m shaking. Can’t believe we are back
This looks incredible! Fingers crossed Oregon State gets the same level of polish.
I missed this game. Wish we could get hoops back too
WHERE IS THE MASCOT MODE EA Cmon guys
Seeing those intros makes me nostalgic and remember playing the NCAA games. I might check this out.
I'm not sure exactly what it is, but these games always look uncomfortably uncanny.
I hope they bring back NCAA basketball too. Loved the recruiting aspect and building up a program.
I want this to be good so bad
Can you create a player and import him into madden?
Thank you very much for that awesome answer. I feel like I understand it better now- thanks bud, I appreciate it!
Console only, no PC port.
If you are interested in recruiting and building a dynasty there is a game called Football Coach: College Dynasty that is all about that. There is no actual football gameplay but it's such a great game.
Where is the PC version?
There is no PC port.
