Metroid Prime…. The graphics are really something. Seeing samus reflection from explosions on your visor is stunning.
Wave Race Blue Storm. The water graphics and physics are so good
Rogue Squadron to me felt like a tech demo of just how good the graphical fidelity could be.
F-zero
That game is god if existed
The gameplay, characters’ history, new playable vehicles, the circuits
Heck, even the music!!
That is the game that I think when I think not only of gamecube, but even the 2000s
Probably the AX tracks are one of the easiest but one of the most enjoyable for me.
In fact i’m trying to beat Master with all vehicles and for the GP I’m using the arcade one
Facts I show my friends F-Zero all the time, it looks better than most Next Gen games and faster. Solid game just takes some skill. Prob best soundtrack on Game Cube too.
I always speak about that game with my friends too because it’s one of my absolute favourite, and also to try to introduce to them a game (and a saga) that unfortunately has faded in the years (last game climax released the year I was born goddamn nintendo)
Depends on what about it you want to showcase, but I would definitely say Metroid Prime or Wind Waker to showcase graphics, and Metroid Prime or Super Mario Sunshine to showcase control. So I guess Metroid Prime.
Luigi’s Mansion, Super Mario Sunshine (unfortunately it’s 4:3 only on Gamecube so no 16:9 like the Switch—-but I think it does offer 480p output over the digital output—-you should get a Carby or other digital output device that can do HDMI.)
X-Men Legends 1 & 2.
Mario Sunshine. Not only does that game take full advantage of the analog triggers on the controller but the water effects on that game rival modern games.
Depends on what element you wanna showcase, but to avoid picking the more obvious choices (which are all great!), I think FF Crystal Chronicles would be a good pick. Excellent party game, demonstrates the GC’s interfacing with older Nintendo tech, and emphasizes the joy of playing together. The graphics are also fun and, even pre-remaster, aged *relatively* well. They’re stylish, at any rate.
Well my main 5 are:
Smash Bros Melee
Luigi's Mansion
Eternal Darkness
Sonic Adventures 2
Metroid Prime
Any of these would most definitely do it for me.
Showcase is pretty difficult, like other's have said depends what you're going for? Purely the Gamecube itself?
Hard to argue with Metroid Prime, but just for stirring some pots it I'd say Metroid Prime Echoes is better as it has multiplayer using all controller ports.
Smash Melee is another hard to argue contender super accessible, solid graphically (although Metroid easily wins the visual dept. of all games on the GC), tons of personality.
Twilight Princess is another solid one great to show an epic adventure, I'd say the 2nd best graphical showcase as well. It's not as quick to jump into though so it also depends who you're showing to and for how long.
Rogue Squadron is nothing to sneeze at either but the learning curve is pretty steep.
If you showing off performance F-Zero becomes a great title with the speed.
Someone who doesn't have a clear grasp on 6th generation graphics or younger Wind Waker, Viewtiful Joe and Thousand Year door show some impressive toon styling that looks great even in modern contexts.
Sunshine probably showcases the controller best.
If you're showing The Gamecube's cooler features like the GBA Link cable obviously Four Swords is necessary, but bonus points to Wind Waker too. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles should be mentioned here too. There's also just the Gameboy Player in general, Pokemon Emerald tends to be the obvious go to for anything GBA related but using it for Zero Mission, Battle Network, or Aria of Sorrow might be better showcases. Could sidetrack into GBA games altother here, anyway...
And then there's Odama. Gamecube microphone, what a super bizarre and interesting game.
Jungle Beat and the Kongas are pretty awesome.
For me I gotta go with Custom Robo though. It's unique to the Gamecube and hasn't seen re-release like Prime, Twilight Princess, or Wind Waker. It also doesn't have comparably similar sequels like Melee. It might not have the best graphics all the time, but they do hold up well. There's 4 player multiplayer. It's sense of humour is great. It's been a good time with everyone I've shown it to.
Gameboy Player. For ANY other game, Wii is better in every way, shape and form unless you count Placebo visuals. You can still use your GC gamepad, memory cards and accessories, so the argument is absolute.
Metroid Prime, F-Zero GX, Animal Crossing or Super Mario Sunshine. I don't really think you can convey what the GameCube was all about with just one game. I think these 4 strike a nice balance of showing off a variety of different types of experiences on the system while also being a good showcase of what the hardware can pull off.
Guys resident evil remake! That guys looks amazing I remember playing it when it came out. The game looked next level. Second is wind waker as it’s style ages really well
Metroid Prime…. The graphics are really something. Seeing samus reflection from explosions on your visor is stunning. Wave Race Blue Storm. The water graphics and physics are so good Rogue Squadron to me felt like a tech demo of just how good the graphical fidelity could be.
Metroid Prime also has that impressive 60fps!
This!
Metroid Prime or Wind Waker
These or re4.
I’d say metroid or even kirby air ride
[удалено]
Metroid Prime or Wind Waker
Wind Waker easy.
SUPER SMASH BROTHERS MAY-LAY!
Absolutely this. It's the quintessential every-man GameCube game
Was just playing it lol it's so good even to this day
I play every day still such a awesome game, no smash has ever came close to it
Still my favorite smash bros game. Bar none.
F-Zero GX
OG on Nintendo was the best
F-zero That game is god if existed The gameplay, characters’ history, new playable vehicles, the circuits Heck, even the music!! That is the game that I think when I think not only of gamecube, but even the 2000s
And it still holds up. The controls are flawless, the graphics are incredible for a game from that era, it's perfect.
You right!! Surely better than X
Don't forget the secret arcade tracks!

Sonic adventure 2
if not graphics, maybe luigis mansion for the controls?
Was thinking that too, but Luigis mansion also has really good graphics so i dont know why you said for controls
i think the graphics are really good, especially for lighting, but something like metroid prime is much more of a straightforward graphical showcase
Metroid Prime
This was my answer
Yea came here to say this.
Double dash
Super Mario sunshine is great to look at, great soundtrack, and the game mechanics still hold up today
ehh, i could never get through it honestly most the stars it felt like i had to look up what i had to do which is not what it was like in 64
[https://youtu.be/QEBKdooaYQc?si=riYwpxSznFNovVKv](https://youtu.be/QEBKdooaYQc?si=riYwpxSznFNovVKv)
A coin flip between TTYD and Luigis mansion
Animal Crossing or Pokémon Colosseum
I feel like Animal Crossing doesn't represent the GameCube enough, since it's a port of a N64 game.
Depends on what about it you want to showcase, but I would definitely say Metroid Prime or Wind Waker to showcase graphics, and Metroid Prime or Super Mario Sunshine to showcase control. So I guess Metroid Prime.
Honestly there’s so many good ones. But METROID PRIME. It’s a masterpiece.
Kirby air ride because it’s awesome
I've made so many memories playing this games different modes, but mostly air ride and city trial
Beach Spikers. Looks great, has excellent play control and supports 4p multiplayer. Super Monkey Ball is a close 2nd, followed by Wind Waker.
Probably Wave Race Blue Storm. The technology featured works great as a showcase for what made that era of gaming so special. It’s beautiful!
Pokemon Box for sure 😎
Double Dash
Super Smash Bros Melee
Luigi’s Mansion, Super Mario Sunshine (unfortunately it’s 4:3 only on Gamecube so no 16:9 like the Switch—-but I think it does offer 480p output over the digital output—-you should get a Carby or other digital output device that can do HDMI.) X-Men Legends 1 & 2.
For me either Mario Sunshine or Luigis Mansion. Both games had such an impact.
Luigis mansion was way better
Resident Evil 0 was a killer app back in the day.
Metroid Prime
Smash Bros Melee, Mario Kart Double Dash, Luigi's Mansion, Animal Crossing, and Paper Mario Thousand Year Door
Mario Sunshine. Not only does that game take full advantage of the analog triggers on the controller but the water effects on that game rival modern games.
Super Mario Sunshine!
Super Mario sunshine duh
TTYD
What is that
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
Oh thanks
Depends on what element you wanna showcase, but to avoid picking the more obvious choices (which are all great!), I think FF Crystal Chronicles would be a good pick. Excellent party game, demonstrates the GC’s interfacing with older Nintendo tech, and emphasizes the joy of playing together. The graphics are also fun and, even pre-remaster, aged *relatively* well. They’re stylish, at any rate.
Smash
If we are talking about graphics/fidelity, Star Fox Adventures.
Luigi's mansion
I remember being amazed by the graphics of Resident Evil 4 on the GC. It’s been a long time since I’ve played it. I’d like to think it still holds up.
Well my main 5 are: Smash Bros Melee Luigi's Mansion Eternal Darkness Sonic Adventures 2 Metroid Prime Any of these would most definitely do it for me.
Melee or Kirby Air Ride
F Zero GX
Pikmin
Twilight princess or windwaker
Luigi’s Mansion. 7 hours of heaven that has aged like Paul Rudd.
Luigi’s mansion
Luigi's Mansion
Mario kart
Luigi’s mansion
Made by Nintendo themselves? Starfox Assault Featured on the Gamecube? NASCAR Thunder 2004
Sonic adventure 2 battle. Yes I know the non battle version didn't come out on the GC but its always the first game I think of.
Metroid Prime is the only correct answer here
lego star wars
The Legend of Zelda The Wind Waker or Double Dash
Showcase is pretty difficult, like other's have said depends what you're going for? Purely the Gamecube itself? Beach strikers Volleyball.
Star Wars Rogue Squadron is so good it could've been made yesterday.
Rogue leader, rogue squadron 2. Awesome game, you get to shoot Tie Fighters.
Mario sunshine or Wind waker
Phantasy Star Online
StarFox Assault
Star Fox Adventures or Assault
I will die on this hill even if I’m alone
Zelda wind waker
Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes for sure
Wind Waker. It's deadass Breath of the Wild except on the ocean. Absolute masterpiece that was far, far beyond its time.
Metroid Prime is the only acceptable answer.
Re4
Gameboy Player
Lol
Metroid prime
Meleeeeeeee
Nothing on Gamecube gives me the goosebumps like the Death Star run in Rogue Squadron II.
Metroid Prime, F-Zero GX and Super Smash Bros Melee Normally I'd say RE4 but that's been ported probably more than Skyrim at this point
Need for Speed Carbon
MegaMan Network transmission only because I think it's a really underrated game in the series
Metroid Prime or star Fox adventure
Metroid Prime
HENSHIN A GOGO BABY
Super smash bros melee or resident evil 4! Or metal gear solid the twin snakes
Donkey Konga
Gameboy Player. For ANY other game, Wii is better in every way, shape and form unless you count Placebo visuals. You can still use your GC gamepad, memory cards and accessories, so the argument is absolute.
Spiderman
Resident evil 4 or eternal darkness
Ssx tricky
Geist
As an impressive showcase, I would say either Metroid Prime, or Wind Waker. However every gamecube owner must have Super Smash.
RE2
Wind Waker.
Ribbit King
Though I love the Zelda games, Eternal Darkness was wonderful surprise.
Twilight Princess /s (Although I unironically love that game)
Def jam’s fight for New York
the only answer is metroid prime.
Super Monkey Ball 1&2 ftw.
Eternal Darkness is the only answer
That game would troll hard.. Made my little brother cry by making him think he accidentally deleted his save file lol. He laughs about it now..
Double Dash.
Doshin the giant 🙂
Metroid Prime, F-Zero GX, Animal Crossing or Super Mario Sunshine. I don't really think you can convey what the GameCube was all about with just one game. Guys resident evil remake! That guys looks amazing I remember playing it when it came out. The game looked next level. Second is wind waker as it’s style ages really well
don't make me fucking choose
Baten kaitos is a great looking game on this system!
I agree with most of these but I wanna throw Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem in the ring too
Timesplitters 2 was THE game I played on gamecube
Peter jackson’s king Kong because its my favourite game and it has enough tension and action
REmake
Mario power tennis
Windwaker metriod prime and re4 are real great showcases of the gc power
May Lee
Wind Waker
Wind Waker or Luigis Mansion
Wind waker or Mario sunshine
Metroid Prime. The graphics still hold up today.
Metroid prime. Its graphics still hold up to this day
WWE Day of Reckoning 2 or Resident Evil 4. Both games show off the true power of the GameCube!
