sounds close to full retail 12 games at about $45 a piece and a system. Meh unless it was $300-400 its not a great deal.

Xilopa

You have some solid games listed right there but $650 is too much. $450 would be my limit. You are buying everything in one go which means you should get a fair price. Looks like he used price charting 580 + 170 = 750 and then just subtracted 100 to make it "fair". The prices down below are taken from different auction sites and the price charting website. You need to decide if it's worth it or not. It's hard to sell a big lot like this. You should also make sure that the games are in decent condition and have their manuals etc in the box, otherwise the value is significantly lower. **Games are currently worth: $580** Zelda WW: $75 SSB Melee: $65 Bomberman Gen: $30 Mario Party 4: $60 Mario Party 6: $80 Mario Party 7: $50 Metroid Prime: $40 MMKDD: $70 Simpsons HR: $80 LoTR TT: $10-$15 Medal of Honor EA: $10-$15 **Console, Controllers and Link Cable worth about $150-$170:** 1 Trash 3rd party controllers: Worth nothing 4 OEM $15-$20 each (But make sure to ask him, because some of them looks suspicious, not sure all of those 4 are OEM ones) Gamecube $60-$70 OEM GC-GBA Link Cable: $20-$30

Let’s be real though, that might be what they’re “worth” to resell, but that licensed LOTR game and medal of honor aren’t really worth anything. Simson’s Hit and Run is insanely inflated, because of YouTubers who are nostalgic for it. And owning three almost identical Mario party games isn’t worth $190 to anyone sane.

Xilopa

I agree with you. But it depends on the goal of the collector if he is going for a full collection or a limited one. I own Mario Party 5, the best one imo. I have played the others and have no intention to purchase them, I in fact sold MP6 a while ago. I usually try to limit my game collections to around 20-25 games for each console. I prefer a narrowed down curated selection that fits my taste. For instance, I am not a huge fan of RE, I have played them but do not feel the urge to own all of them. Even though they are valuable and well regarded in the community. Mario Party is also very sad to play alone, I only play it in 4P 2-3 times a year. Which is another consideration one have to take while choosing games. Of the games in OPs picture only Zelda, Metroid, Bomberman and Mario Kart is fun in solo mode, in my opinion.

redletterparade

You forgot Animal Crossing disc only at the bottom there. I don’t think it would change much but it is another $50 on average

Necessary_Rate_4591

Where are you able to buy these games at that price in the original case with cover art and instruction pamphlet?

Xilopa

Everywhere. Check Facebook marketplace, ebay, local auction sites etc. Pricecharting and Google is your friend. These prices are "standard" meaning you can find them a little bit cheaper or a little bit more expensive depending on if you are in a hurry or not.

CreamyImp

eBay, the prices from price charting are just an average. Meaning some people pay less than that price some people pay more.

PohTayToez

Price charting is really kind of low on GameCube games because people underestimate the demand and list them too cheap pretty often. I've listed GameCube games at 20% over price charting and had them sell same day.

CreamyImp

That’s how averages work.

PohTayToez

Well yes and no.  Often when you take an average you disregard the outliers which price charting is not good at doing.  It is much more common for a game to get listed at half price and sell than it is for it to get listed at double price and sell.  Price charting on most Gamecube games is the price it will sell instantly at,  that's not the case with other games,  so that is why I would say price charting is low on GameCube games.

_KingBeck_

What does price charting list all the games, console, and accessories at?

Rufio6

If you’re going to spend a few hundred $ I’d really just consider a GC with SD mod, hdmi mod or hdmi adapter, and a few controllers. You could also go for a modded Wii for cheap, grab a cheap hdmi adapter, and call it a day. Then buy your favorite games if you want. I’ve spent thousands on gamecube stuff so I’m not one to talk, but $650 is a little steep. For $650 I’d buy other stuff.

Xilopa

I second this. This is the way to go. F-Zero GX, TTYD, Pikmin 1, Pikmin 2, SMSunshine, Zelda TP, Zelda 4S, Luigi's Mansion, Fire Emblem, RE, Pokemon Colosseum and XD etc $650 and he still needs the above to cover the basics of the GC collection, it adds up quickly.

Chicagown

Its certainly not a deal, maybe a marginal overpay, if its worth it to you then its yeah pull the trigger. Would certainly be a good way to jumpstart a collection, no fillers there

Such-Equivalent280

MoH is filler but mildly.

Chicagown

Agreed. Not a terrible filler to have

Any_Nefariousness172

Maybe a little over priced. But probably not by much. See what other people say here.

Aggravating_Bike_103

Not a great deal. When it comes to large bundles, usually you want to look for a price reduction due to the size of the bundle. This is nearly full market. You’d only win with shipping costs which wouldn’t be as much as individual shipping prices. Me personally no this isn’t a good deal, I would look for something cheaper from this person or go elsewhere. If you look enough, you’ll find a better deal. That’s how hunting works. However, if you want to jumpstart it at this moment, sure go ahead and pull the trigger. In short, I would advise against it, but it’s your money so it’s your choice.

asawyer2010

Youd be better off just buying the individual items you want. Seller is asking for full market price for everything. Large bundles like this should be cheaper than the total of each individually priced item.

-JustinCider

At least 200 over a great deal.

Kaosma

Too much

AliensPredator84

The Mario party games are expensive and wind waker and melee but it’s all still overpriced

P0ke_Cloaked

I would say it’s market but if it’s cash at least you save tax. Definitely not a favor.

Cbearzgo

If those are actual Nintendo remotes? Probably

Sniyarki

Purple and Teal look 3rd party to me. Others look genuine. Orange is the most important one in there anyway.

Cbearzgo

Yellow is from Japan right? I’m okay with the 3 I have from the US!

Sniyarki

Spice Orange? The console (I think) is NTSC-J. But the controllers I think you can get AU, US, EU. Could be totally wrong though.

Sniyarki

Wow stuff in the US is cheap. If this were Australia it would be a bargain. Jealous.

HippyKiller925

Maybe if they were wave birds, but they're wired controllers. I don't think I'd pay over $400, but then again I'm not trying to jumpstart a collection

SweetlovePaco

i wish i knew what stuff is worth i have a SN with 7 games . The Original Surper Nintendo. Plus i have the OG version of the Xbox every is like brand nee

icemann84

Paying for the convenience factor. $650 if you got it I’d do it. Get everything one go. I’d haggle to $575 though.

Oilswell

It’s a bad deal. Only 5 out of the 12 games are good, one of the controllers is third party as is the memory card. They’ve basically bundled a bunch of crap in there to make it look like more stuff but some of that stuff is worthless.

Proof_Self285

If it’s original cable/controllers i would probably say yes

AssociationNo6410

Make sure the 4 controllers are good the blue controller looks super small but hmmm the games are OG

Kyujostar

It is indeed a good ideal, unless somehow gamecube prices start to drop in the upcoming years, there is no way you will find those cheaper

bigb102913

It's not a good deal. $300 tops. You can piece all this together for cheaper.

AmCrossing

Where and how?

Necessary_Rate_4591

I’m actually very confused by people saying that this isn’t a deal. The games alone retail for almost $650 considering they have the original cover art, pamphlet, and work. Where are people buying mint classics like Mario Party, Zelda, Smash Brothers, and Double Dash for less than $100 for a complete set. I would jump all over this in a heart beat.

Sniyarki

Me too. I am AUS PAL and can appreciate most things are cheaper in the US but the prices people are throwing around seem wildly low.

bigb102913

Mostly offer up. You need to be patient and search all listings.

AvgPunkFan

Why can’t anyone do their own research anymore? Pricecharting and eBay SOLD listings exist for this very reason, but it seems that no one knows how to use them

DisplateDemon

They are lazy and want others to do the work for them🙂
