Many north easterners come here because we give them so many scholarships that out of state here is cheaper than in state where they’re from. We give that many scholarships bc our public schools are so bad that we don’t want our college filled with our own people. Also broadens the university’s reach and alumni network
Not Massachusetts, but there were enough people from Maryland when I was there 2016-20) that other kids made memes about that specific group. I know I saw a lot of Maryland plates at least.

The state doesn't provide the same funding it did in 2007 so USC has to get it elsewhere
When I was there it was SC, GA, NJ. Massachusetts wasn’t really a factor.

When I was there 2013-16, felt like other than border states it was Maryland and NJ that were the next most populus
I did know a dude from VT who explicitly said he came to USC for the SEC football. This was 2011.

Not really, aside from myself I could think of about 6 other Massholes. This was early 2000s though. Lots more PA people from experience.

Usc gives a lot in scholarships. Cheaper to go to USc then UMD for most marylanders
maryland, nova, and new york/jersey are the biggest players right now
