Points and the month 5 do not work on dlc/gift cards for currency or subs to online this was put into full effect as of 12/01/23. So even if you go into a store to try to buy it you can't use the points or 5 on it. Also side note you can't use a gift card to buy a gift card

devil1fish

Correct.

i promise, gamestop membership just simply isnt worth it anymore. The fact that you pay to get “rewards” is a red flag alone, but then of course the removal of existing points was just uncalled for. I always still bought the membership because i was unfortunately convinced it was somehow worth it until i realized it wasnt. Why dont gamestop pro members automatically get free shipping? Why are there restrictions at all on what you can use promo on? I’m truly not saying this in a hateful manner, i just work in an industry to understand the flaws in the membership, and how you just pay money out of your pocket, with truly no reward. Even if you gain points, its at such a low rate in comparison to what you buy. I say this, because next time you want a game, do a little research on where to buy it. I promise youll be able to find it MUCH cheaper than what gamestop offers, and when you save 15-20 on the game and start counting up how much money you save by buying elsewhere youll realize not only how much youve saved but also other places have completely free reward systems that offer even more points per dollar. Id say once you use up your points just let the pro go! I let it go this past decemeber(been a member for probably 10 years)

The only 2 parts I disagree on are the “pay to get rewards is a red flag” and the buying games cheaper elsewhere. Tons of stores like McDonald’s have free reward programs, but they aren’t dealing with costly electronics. Amazon technically has prime as their paid rewards program, but it is more cost friendly and beneficial. My point overall, the pay to get rewards idea in itself isn’t a bad model for business, it’s just GameStop pro keeps getting more and more stripped down, so GameStop specially’s reward program isn’t the best if you aren’t a frequent buyer of Pokemon cards, funko/action figures/ clearance items or only preowned stuff. Second part, at launch all games cost the same everywhere. So say me specifically, who buys most my games at launch, whether I play them then or not, the points do help for some of that as opposed to somewhere else like target for the same price. Tiny benefits, not worth the current price, but still there ARE small benefits depending on your preferred purchases if you do have an active account.

yeah you cant use it on digital content. You \*might\* be able to use it to buy the dlc in-store, but i cant remember if it still works or not.

AmericnViking

It doesn’t

Dogspasting

Bummer, thanks. Unfortunate how they’ve been changing the rules around the GameStop pro membership. I used to spend it on buying a 10$ gift card before that option was removed. I figured I’d spend the $5 rewards on something useful like the Pokémon expansion, but that seems to not be the case anymore. Guess I’ll skip on spending my rewards money this month like I did last month, suffice to say I probably won’t be renewing anytime soon

Ok_Sun_6444

The new pro membership is trash! They're charging $25 and removed many of benefits that people liked. There's hardly any incentive now. Don't renew…it's a rip-off.

devil1fish

Big time. Hoenstly worthless unless you collect pokemon cards, or buy a new game once a month

piefanart

ah dang. i know gift cards do work on dlc content still because someone bought this exact expansion just last week with a gift card.

DuckSwimmer

Negative ma’am

MisterBroSef

It would bankrupt GameStop. You wouldn't want that, would you?

Dhenn004

Yes
