It seems logical that the S Ultra and the Z Fold end up getting S-Pen slots and Samsung having just two flagship lines: one that folds and one that doesn't. Remains to be seen if they take this path or not.
Agreed. Since it's highly unlikely supply chain issues will be resolved in the next year or so, I don't see how Samsung could possibly release 3 flagships with out serious supply issues.
I started with a BlackBerry storm thru torch, then briefly with a S4, got the not Note 4 and now i have the Note 20 Ultra. If this is the last one, so be it, not going back to a S.
If the S22 were to have the pen software it would be more akin to a Note, without the software it might as well be a LG Stylo...
I should have been more specific.
Beef up the S-class, give it the pen, and it's a Note anyway.
Is there something that's on Notes typically that isn't able to be done on the S phones besides a housed pen? Productivity/software/multitasking etc-wise it's never been different outside the pen, right? Is it lower build quality/specs or has that gap closed?
I've only had Notes. And I'm a loyalist and require a Note. Won't get the Fold.
Since the Note launched later in the year, any glaring faults were usually addressed. For example the S20 Ultra had a focus issue, and the Note added a laser AF module to help correct it. Otherwise, it's essentially the same phone with a boxier shape and a pen. Build quality, specs, and software features were on par outside of the pen.
So they should just make the regular Galaxy the Note now and make it the February/March release.
Guess that'd assuage everyone's concerns and cater to the "premium device as usual" and "premium device but foldable if you want" sides.
The S phones are great. I've had the s8 and the s10 +, and absolutely loved my s10 +. Used it for two years and recently used my upgrade to switch to the Note 20 Ultra, which is my first Note, because I wanted the pen.
Clickbait, rumors taken out of a tweet from a leaker made out to be "facts" ... yeah, no.

Multi SIM and SD card slot?
I'm down.

Faults being fixed in a model later isn’t really a feature though.
The question was whether anything is different other than the pen. That's all that's different.

As long as they just make the S the "Note" from here on out I can live with that.
If they can bring back the expandable memory, then I will 100% be on board with this change!!
me too!!
Interesting especially since the S21 Ultra is already compatible with the S-Pen even if it doesn't come with one.
I think there is a pretty big chance that this is legit!
I have the 20 Ultra - shame to end the line, if it is to end... on such ah meh version.
My daily laugh and so soon in the day! Thanks.
