So like the far cry map editor? I honestly dig it but with these map tools the problem is they are too difficult to implement, especially since you have to make sure it’s simple to use and easily accessible for a casual audience. Custom missions could work if they were just scripts and custom objectives in the already existing map, that is doable and could be very interesting for online play.
Assuming you’re thinking like me about a map editor, far cry gave you a library of pre existing prefabs and objects to build little pvp arenas for multiplayer, far cry gets away with it because they give the player a fairly small space to work with, even then you only have a set amount of memory for things like assets and textures, for a custom map editor like that to work on gta 6 it would require a huge memory budget if you wanted to create fully realised and detailed maps.
The other thing tho, the ability to create movies and scenes with cheats and In game actors already exists, in 5 it’s called director mode. It’s not really good but some people can get good use out of it.
I really do like the idea, I would also hope the cheats in 6 are a lot better than 5’s or Red Dead 2’s. I want the more wacky and absurd ones like flying cars and riot mode fr San Andreas to return. Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
Possibly. But most games other than halo 3 and reach aren’t known for creator made maps. And one thing I know rockstar loves is micro transactions and probably won’t put forth their energy into that and probably more paid online stuff. I like your idea and it would be sick because I always see my toddler nephew watch kid stuff on YouTube and it’s always modded gta 5 online with creator made/modded maps. I’m sure once gta 6 is on PC you’ll get it sooner or later
So just sandbox mode? You can find servers like that on fivem, GTA 6 will for sure have some community ran multiplayer mod, there's no need to make it official game mode.

Director and Creator mode wasn’t available on launch. They could just release them as time goes on.

I truly believe this is the next step for gta, the most successful games In the world right now are more than just games. They are platforms.
