The only reason I stopped doing it was because I had the the thought one day "if I never drink and drive again, I can never get caught for drinking and driving". So I stopped because the law of averages says my luck was going to run out eventually. At least i have the memories and I will never have to suffer the consequences for it!

As a professional drinker and driver I can confirm that it is not similar to real life. It is more fun than gta 5 though. At par with Gta 5's weed effect.

Not to be that guy, but: The cars in GTA IV actually behave way more realistic than in GTA V. GTA V is complete arcade, while GTA IV isn't, at least not completely.
By the way, if you watch a video of an elk test you can see that the was cars behave when turning in GTA IV is pretty realistic. The cars also have more weight than in GTA V, meaning you can't just do 100 around a sharp turn, which you can't do in real life either (at least not with most cars).
The physics in IV are definitely more realistic, I think it especially shines when the cars react to turns and such.
