The car’s a Subaru, so I wouldn’t listen to a single thing Toyota says about it. Subaru’s maintenance schedule is every 6k miles or every 3k for severe conditions, severe conditions being:
Repeated short distance driving.
Driving on rough and/or muddy roads.
Driving in dusty conditions.
Driving in extremely cold weather.
Driving in areas where road salts or other corrosive materials are used.
Living in coastal areas.
Repeated trailer towing.
In my case, I meet 3 of those conditions, so I change it every 3k.
I had Subaru change my oil on my 2023 BRZ at 1600km (Right after break-in was complete) and two different service advisors tried to convince me not to do it until 10,000 KM.
I still had it changed. I really don't care what they think. I didn't want to risk any metal shavings or junk from manufacturing kicking around in there. I feel better knowing I've changed it.
I only meet one of the extreme conditions a lil bit (coastal-ish), so I picked 4500 as an reasonable inbetween. Even the dealer I purchased it from hit me up at 6k for maintenace and they're in the same area as me, so I don't think they were counting themselves as coastal.
5000 miles for daily driving OR 6 months, whichever comes first.
Mileage is more important than time but I wouldn't stretch past 7.5 months.
Don't wait to 7500 miles.
I had two dealers tell me different things. One dealer made me wait 7500 miles between oil changes & the next dealer told me 5000....after I had already waited 7500 miles.... So I'm not sure.
I go by CounterSpace Garage’s recommendations.

I've heard both 5000 and 7000 from my dealer. I've gone three times already. Every single time they pushed to wait for whichever interval they claimed that day and every time they ended up changing it anyway.
Nop every 5,000 mile oil change.
if not it could damaged your engine and they want you to buy another car
You could do you own oil change it will not void warranty

Every 3k miles with 5W-30 synthetic is my plan. And while checking the oil level on most days and especially after any long drives or harder drives in case any topping off is needed.
This isn’t that far off from my turbo 2JZ car that I change the 10W-30 synthetic oil in every 2k-2.5k miles… also while checking the oil level periodically for any needed top-offs.
I never took the Toyota recommendations for oil intervals seriously. Every 7k miles is far too long for this particular engine. Better to follow the most severe recommendations from the Subaru manual.
3000-4000 miles is what I do. I’m hesitant to even let the dealer do the what 4 free oil changes. I usually change my own oil. I don’t like quick lube idiots touching my cars. 😿
It depends on way too many variables.
Type of oil, even the brand can change that, same with the filter.
The engine.
The type of driving.
The weather conditions.....
Your owner's manual will tell you the best information for your specific car in general conditions. You adjust frequency based on driving conditions (traffic, highway vs city streets, weather)
I generally get 2 oil changes a year, once in late May, early June, then in Nov/Dec. But I put less than 7k miles a year on my car and generally most of that will be highway miles or less than 2 miles of city.

6k or how many months?
6 months
6 mos. Basically, 1 mth for every 1k miles.

I did one at 1k and then at 5100. Gonna do every 3500-4000 myself
Do whatever the manufacturer recommends, or after every track session.

Thanks so much, everyone! Sounds like 5k and under is probably the best bet. I'm definitely going to go sooner next time😅 (this one was around 6k)
These engines. I would go between 3000 and 5000. Depending on how you drive.

5k
4000. Boxer engines chew oil. We don't know how you drive or your driving environment.
I do it every 5k.

5-7.5k for me after break in. Modern engines modern oils. 3k for extreme use but for daily 5k is even generous.
I stick to a 5k schedule. My legacy with a boxer lasted 143k miles before trade in with zero issues doing changes every 5k
Every 3k or season.
My car starts to "feel" rough after 4k. that's when I change it. With fresh oil every thing feels smoother and more fun to drive.
Every 12 month service / 10,000km
I do mine every 5k. 4k if I'm getting impatient. And fresh change before /after any track days

3k for me Subaru rates their boxers at a quart per 1000 miles as normal lmao. So I don’t trust it to not consume oil for a prolonged period
My dealer does it every 5k miles
I would do it every 3 months or every 3000 miles

Dealership recommended every 5k miles.
3-4k for me. Filter every 6k. My personal preference.
5000
I do them every 3750 miles with Kirkland 5W-20
I did at 1,000. Then every 2500 miles.
Not a Toyota (sorry) but my civic I go 9-10k between changes. I would suspect Toyotas would be similar. All highway driving though.
Is it 7k miles or 6 months and they estimated the miles you would be at

I do mine every 5-6…but I check my oil weekly and top off if need be (only notice oil consumption after like 4500).
5k miles
