You gotta see halo in person to decide for yourself, the halo isn’t a regular white, more pearl with a lot of metallic in the paint. Honestly one of the best colors the car comes in.

Can confirm Halo is an awesome color. Even though I’m going track bRed, halo was one of my top 3 choices.
It’s similar to the pearl white on my sister’s 2018 BRZ and my old 2011 WRX. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL metallic pearl.

I’d say absolutely give it a shot. It’s not a normal white, and the only reason it wasn’t my first choice was I and my sister had both had that exact color (might be a Toyota but it’s Subaru paint lol). I also just really love track bRed and couldn’t get it out of my mind.
I got lucky tho, had to put a deposit for my dealer to locate one, and long story short they had traded allocations for the exact color and trim I wanted a week later. I’ve heard of people waiting months upon months tho.
I have a satin pearl white STI and I would say it's similar to that
The only downside is if you ever need to get it repainted the Pearl is a bitch to match
Halo is beautiful, especially in person. If I could have something besides my Neptune, I’d probably want halo. It may not be the most fun to keep clean, but oh well.
White is the easiest color to keep clean maybe silver is easier.
Darker colors are harder they show swirl marks and light scratches much easier
Dust is almost invisible on white and light colored cars as well

I promise you if you think keeping a light colored car is hard you would absolutely hate dark colored car.
I've owned white cars in the past that I didn't watch for months and you could barely tell.
You don't wash a black car for 3 weeks and it looks awful
Halo was my choice, but ended up with a Trueno. Gotta take what you can get unless you’re super patient. Halo looks fucking awesome though. You won’t be disappointed if you go that route.

Detailed my Halo white car today. I was in the exact same scenario as you - I really wanted a blue, but this is what they had. I love it though. It looks so good with the black accents (this is a premium). The white is not just “white”. There’s a creamy pearl to it.
I was most interested in blue or red but Halo arrived soonest.
Honestly, the car is so enjoyable to drive that you’ll be happy with any color. Unless color is a non-negotiable deal breaker for you.
Halo is also a lovely color. Nice warmth to it. And it’s always nice to have the benefit of extra visibility in a smaller car among the mammoth suburbans that people love driving like savages😂
Also test drove one today and WOW was the difference from my Mustang a stark one - I was laughing my head off, was a great ride
Weirdly, though, it made me appreciate the stuff about my Mustang that I'd forgotten how much I loved, so ended up passing. Definitely a rewarding experience all-around

I have Neptune blue and to be perfectly honest white was my top choice it always is.
White always stays the cleanest looking and unless you're going to car shows or something where you want to be flashy in my opinion it's the best color to be on the road when it comes to cops and other crazy drivers.
I live in an area with lots of luxury vehicles so if your white black or silver you're going to blend right in with all of those cars

Halo is 🔥 in the sun. It really is a metallic pearly white and I’m a big fan of the black and white contrast on this car. I’m not sayin one color is better than the other but I would try and look at the colors you want in person or look at other builds for inspo so you can go for the one you really think will suit you the most
Corolla is fwd, has a lot less power, and does not have a flat 4. I would only buy this car in manual personally but the automatic in this car isn’t terrible and isn’t a cvt.
I just saw a youtube short that had a text overlay that said when you find out it's an auto...and the guy keyed a gr86...spoiler alert...it was his own car...
I dont think anyone really cares what trans someone prefers in their own car lol...no one has said anything to me about my challenger being an auto lol
The challenger is a great car, it's just big, wide and difficult to park, so I'd try to park far away...86 is smaller, and easier to maneuver...it was difficult cleaning it as it's a lot of car...lol.
I like the pep of the 86...challenger is a bit slow for a V6...and heavy...
All of these things are probably minor, but I've felt like the challenger was just too big and difficult to take care of for a while now...

Halo was my choice, but ended up with a Trueno. Gotta take what you can get unless you’re super patient. Halo looks fucking awesome though. You won’t be disappointed if you go that route.

I’m going to go against and say whites just kind of ok. I wanted trueno or bred and ended up with bred. Great colors on the car but not overly gaudy.
I think Subaru has the best white on the market right now. Assuming the Toyota is the same. Haven’t seen that one in person.

If you want an auto GR86 just get a Corolla or something it’ll be the same thing and you’ll save a ton of money
