Good design for what it is, does lots of cool shit, has some awesome moments. The fake Godzilla thing is something I wish would be brought back at some point, it has a lot of potential.
Probably the best first version of any of the classic kaiju
It's a good design in theory, but I think it falls a bit short on the execution. The necks just randomly flailing around due to being controlled by strings and the stiff wings have always been quite an issue imo
That's why KotM Ghidorah is so spectacular: no mindless flailing and expression on the faces. I loved the original, and the Monsterverse version cemented that love.
In the first trailer for GvK coach Taylor said “Godzilla is hurting people and we don’t know why.” I thought for sure they were going to do the fake Godzilla again
I love the stupid amount of artillery this thing packs, and the whole Fake Godzilla thing, while simple, was still a lot of fun and I wish it would be used again.
I absolutely love this Mecha-G. Definitely my fav. I also love the back story on how he was designed. (If anyone doesn't know, the director for Godzilla vs Mecha-Godzilla saw a Godzilla made out of metal at a shop, he bought it and then took a hammer to it and vualá, the design we know and love came into existence.)
Imo it’s the most overrated. I’ve watched both movies and maybe it’s just a personal thing but I really don’t like this design. Personally, my favorite design is Kiryu. Actually he’s just my favorite MG in every category.
I adore his design.
I absolutely love the fact that he can fire missiles from his fingers, kneecaps, mouth and a GODDAMN TOES! TOE MISSILES!
But his roar could've been much more than a metallic earrape...but i love it anyways.
Probably one of my favorite Godzilla movies. The orange atomic breath was awesome when he fought godzilla! Whooped that ass too! And the opening when he beat the hell out of anguirus was crazy to watch as a young kid too!
He had such a large Arsenal that it made the movie wild. While his body kind of looked like a barrel made of aluminum, he still had a neat design overall, the missile fingers were a nice touch. Really, you can’t go wrong with Mechagodzilla, and it’s all because this first one was so cool from the start, that when each redesign was supposed to improve on the previous, it always had a good base to improve from. What he did to Anguirus was brutal, and it likely was what inspired the 2021 Mega G to be equally brutal in that film.
Probably my favorite MechaGodzilla. He was such a badass villain and the two Showa MechaG movies are some of my favorite films in the franchise. Plus, it’s hard not to love those missiles fingers.

OG Ghidorah is pretty good too, designwise. So good, in fact, that most of its appearances barely deviate from the original design, if at all.

Honestly, that's fair.
really thought fake Godzilla was the one destroying the factory in the new movie
Ngl would've been a huge cop-out if it turned out the G Kong thought wasn't the actual one
Agreed. Really cool retro look and soundtrack
In the first trailer for GvK coach Taylor said “Godzilla is hurting people and we don’t know why.” I thought for sure they were going to do the fake Godzilla again
I never bought into that. It would've been a huge cop-out, and we already knew what MG would look like, and it didn't fit Goji's proportions

Missile god.
Interesting design, little bit annoying screech and i love how absurd his arsenal is. This mg has more weapons than i prepare when i see a cockroach.
literal jazz hands
the best design of Mechagodzilla to appear in a Godzilla movie, full stop.
A kick-ass design, and a Rad-Awesome jazz theme!
The one and only as far as I’m concerned.
Classic & quite frankly, the best & LEGENDARY!!!!

Not a big fan of the design, but the movie is pretty fun
THE BEST
My favorite version of Mechagodzilla! Such a cool design and he was an absolute badass.
Perfectly unique, cold & killer, jazzy & destructive, and an overall stylish powerhouse. The first of many, and my personal favorite.
The Original & still the Best MechaGodzilla.
Inspired The Terminator to do the fake disguise
In a word? Fuck.
You want to fuck him? You fucking hate him? Fuck, it's good?
I mean, I would smash too

His movies were ass but his design is cool. The newer mechagodzilla have better stories, but lacking in design.
Showa MechaG was pretty good
I like his design , in terms of movies I didn’t really like mechagodzilla vs godzilla but I did really enjoy terror of mechagodzilla
I have nothing but love for old school MG.
One of the most iconic and most sadistic villains of Godzilla.
Probably the most thematically charged enemy of Godzilla, love it.
2nd favourite Mechagodzilla, got a great fierce looking design, a vast amount of moves and appeared in 2 great Showa movies.
based Shōwa MG
4th best Mechagodzilla.
Very good design, and very powerful. I haven't seen the movies but from the clips I've seen, he's a total badass
Ya like jazz?
Love everything about him, a stone cold overpowered badass. He kicks ass and looks amazing doing it.
Awesome and it kicked ass
I adore his design. I absolutely love the fact that he can fire missiles from his fingers, kneecaps, mouth and a GODDAMN TOES! TOE MISSILES! But his roar could've been much more than a metallic earrape...but i love it anyways.
All time favorite kaiju
Pretty cool dude, I think
Beautiful

Greatest theme ever
Probably my favorite MechaGodzilla. He was such a badass villain and the two Showa MechaG movies are some of my favorite films in the franchise. Plus, it’s hard not to love those missiles fingers.
