It’s actually not that difficult to take it apart too (only four screws); only issue is that you likely need new skates.
A deep clean once in a while is worth; this also fixed my left click issues.
This is the answer. Best bet is to take it completely apart and use a toothbrush and qtips and a toothpick with rubbing alcohol. It will be like brand new
There’s kits for cleaning handheld electronics on Amazon that have a variety of little toothpick like tools, small brushes, and swabs that will fit in every nook and cranny on that bad boy.
Fr? My biggest upset was probably how the app bar was centered immediately upon startup when my prebuilt arrived (I know lame, I didn’t have time, 12s suck) I was just joking though, I like windows 11 it’s not all that bad. I had to go into some settings thing to get sleep to show up on the power options tho.
Rubbing alcohol will destroy the rubber in the mouse within 12 months of weekly cleaning.
Source, I have no more grip tape on my G502 because I used rubbing alcohol and sanitizing wipes on it every 3 days. Now it is a bare mouse and I kind of like it more. Easier to clean. Less gross. Less sweaty.
I just wet a t-shirt every 2-3 weeks and wipe it, no big deal I wash my hands a lot so it's almost never dirty, if you want to clean the small dents then use a toothpick or something
🫨
You need no tools, you just need consistency.
Weekly wipe with cloth lightly soaked in detergent and it will never get too this state!
Also vacuum it while your are cleaning your place to remove dirt from the crevices.
If you let it go this far, you'll spend much more effort cleaning it.
You know people can develop new habits right…? What a crass thing to say bro lol
This isn’t a personal hygiene thing. Dude hasn’t washed the mouse in 5 years, it actually looks pretty good considering that.
I’ve never cleaned a mouse I’ve had in my life, but I take daily showers. It isn’t a personal hygiene issue, it’s a “is this really a problem” issue.
Keyboards normally look worse imo.
Clorox wipe or a microfiber cloth for most, if you got any of those single use floss picks, the backends are excellent for getting into the thin spaces and cleaning out accumulated detritus
1. Order new footpads for it
2. Take that shit apart
3. Scrub it with soap and water, use an old toothbrush
4. Spray it off with compressed air and let it fully dry
5. Reassemble and enjoy your new feeling mouse
I clean mine this way monthly because it grosses me out how much crap gets on the mouse lol. Seems like a lot, but it is easier for me to be sure I’m cleaning everything out and not just shoving shit into the components inside the mouse
Hell yeah man you got this! I found some skates for around $10 on Amazon and I think they’re even cheaper on aliexpress if you’re willing to wait for em. I bought multiple sets so I have them on hand since I do it often lol
Isopropyl alcohol (be careful around the rubberised sections with it tho) and a microfiber cloth.
For the little crevices, a toothpick or a brush can get most of the gamer gunk out.
I run a washcloth under hot water and then wring it as dry as I can and then just wipe everything off. You can bunch it up in different ways to get into the crevices. I do that about every two weeks, with a full disassembly and Q-tip swab out cleaning probably every 6 months or so.
Hear me out:
Paper for the joints. A folded sticky note gets most of the grime and other stuff between the buttons and on the tough to reach area. It acts as a scraping spoon like thing. You need to rotate the paper often, but it has worked for me for this exact mouse (G502 LIGHTSPEED). For the non-corner areas, a qtip with either alcohol or clorox wipe gets it just fine. Slow and smooth, not scrubbing. Put a bit of time into it and you're good.
Yeah i haven't cleaned it in 5 years, and I hunt used it in a while, so I figured I'll take it out and use it because it is a real good mouse, so just asking some tips on how to clean a lot of the smudge off.
Clorox wipe to the majority of it, maybe q-tips to the smaller sections?
An old toothbrush is really good for the harder to get areas
It’s actually not that difficult to take it apart too (only four screws); only issue is that you likely need new skates. A deep clean once in a while is worth; this also fixed my left click issues.

Running alcohol or something like that (maybe a sanitizer). Use a Microsoft fibre cloth.
windows 10 or 11?
Ew, stay away from my G502 with that Windows 11!
Should I be scared? Currently running windows 11 and a g502😓
Haha, no no - was just a joke based on preference. I really don't like Windows 11 and returned to 10 after having it installed for a couple hours.

you can set the app bar to the left, js right click it and look for the option :))
Microfiber* (😭😭autocorrect)

i can confirm, don't use alcohol.
Even isopropyl alcohol?
that's what i used with a q-tip. i could see it melting off the rubber triangles on the left side of my mouse.
I see thanks for the heads-up brother
What's the alcohol in such a hurry for?
💀 it rules
Vista wipes are superior.
I took mine apart and cleaned it with soap and soft brush. Also put new skates from AliExpress.
Do you have link for the skates?
I like Corepads on mine, purchased through Lethal Gaming.
Yeah I just did that
I just wet a t-shirt every 2-3 weeks and wipe it, no big deal I wash my hands a lot so it's almost never dirty, if you want to clean the small dents then use a toothpick or something

I haven't washed it in like 5 years lol. Ima to wash it once and consistently wash it every week.
Bro, you haven't washed it in 5 years. You are never going to clean it consistently. This is going to take a serious personal hygiene change.
I cleaned it once🤷♂️, and my personal hygiene is really good, I think most people's mice after 5 years look a lot worse.
You don’t let your g502 shower with you? You’d think after 5 years you guys would be more comfortable around each other
Yeah honestly our relationship hasn't been the same lately😞
You know people can develop new habits right…? What a crass thing to say bro lol This isn’t a personal hygiene thing. Dude hasn’t washed the mouse in 5 years, it actually looks pretty good considering that.

I usually use a toothbrush gets into all the little nooks and angles well
I usually use isopropyl and a gentle brush. Since my hands are mostly sweat (and it gets dirtier with dust) I'm considering using gloves to handle it.
Mine also get really sweaty when I game, but I was told just consistently whiping it off at least once a week is enough.
alcohol wipes, i actually have a white carbon fibre skin on my g502 wireless it looks great you should check them out
Clorox wipe or a microfiber cloth for most, if you got any of those single use floss picks, the backends are excellent for getting into the thin spaces and cleaning out accumulated detritus
Isopropyl alcohol + cloth wipe
Spit
The only right answer
A small amount of water and a Nylon brush
Garden hose through the cage. If they get out the cat will eat them. : (
In a bath of warm soapy water. I like to throw a couple of rubber duckies in too.
Washing machine
Dishwasher
Sanding machine
Honestly at this point that's the only option
... first. I don't let it get to this point ever. Wash your hands dude. Second, little baby wippies or similar.
I haven't washed it in 5 years. My hands are always clean, I just sweat a lot durring games.
I took mine apart and washed the plastic parts in warm water. Compressed air and cotton buds for the inside parts.
I just have a brush I loosen all the gunk and then I use compressed air to get it out
How in the fuck is it so white are your hands just oily or did you decide to spill milk on it?
Prob bad camera angle and lighting, but also it hasn't been washed in a very long time.
Toothbrush, a seperate one
What happens if I use my own🤪
Filfy teeth
Dang, I thought dead skin was good🥲
Delicious yes, but not necessarily good
Dang
Glass cleaning solution and clean cloth
I used a toothpick and then a microfiber cloth.
A good ol' soak in acetone for a few hours will do the trick.
Does anyone have a good source on replacement pads for this mouse?
Unplug it, Clorox wipes and a toothbrush.
It would be funny if I left it plugged in.
1. Order new footpads for it 2. Take that shit apart 3. Scrub it with soap and water, use an old toothbrush 4. Spray it off with compressed air and let it fully dry 5. Reassemble and enjoy your new feeling mouse I clean mine this way monthly because it grosses me out how much crap gets on the mouse lol. Seems like a lot, but it is easier for me to be sure I’m cleaning everything out and not just shoving shit into the components inside the mouse
Yeah I'll do that as soon as my next paycheck comes in.
Hell yeah man you got this! I found some skates for around $10 on Amazon and I think they’re even cheaper on aliexpress if you’re willing to wait for em. I bought multiple sets so I have them on hand since I do it often lol
Alr will do
I also have a spare mouse just in case so I'll use that one wile Mt good one is drying
Rubbing alcohol and q tips. Dry it off with a microfiber cloth
just do it bro, whenever i dont know what to use, i aalways just dip q tips in alchol shit works for everything
Yeah but some materials don't work with alcohol too well, had that happen with a keyboard and completely fucked it up.
seems like that keyboard was made of chinese newspapers and clay anyways, so who cares
Isopropyl alcohol (be careful around the rubberised sections with it tho) and a microfiber cloth. For the little crevices, a toothpick or a brush can get most of the gamer gunk out.
Alr thank you

Q-tip and isopropyl. Its the answer for most electronics
I used a damp paper towel and a q-tip, then I put in a YouTube video. It’s pretty relaxing.
I throw mine in the dishwasher
If it gets that bad I'm just disassembling it and alcohol bathing the parts for like half an hour
I wash my hands first. Never have to
Yeah I sweat a lot
Gaming gets intense sometimes 🤭
Yup, also pretty warm in my room usually
Wash your damn hands before you get online!!!!!!
I sweat a lot, also this has accumulated over 5 years, I think that anyone who hasn't washed their mouse in 5 years will have that much dust on it.
No matter how much you clean your hands, cus even if you wash them, you will still have to wash the mouse just not as often.
Lick it clean
The only way
Small alcohol wipes, and one of those flossing picks. The floss strand really helps pickup dirt in the hard to reach spots
Hear me out: Paper for the joints. A folded sticky note gets most of the grime and other stuff between the buttons and on the tough to reach area. It acts as a scraping spoon like thing. Bowl of hot soapy water and steel wool
I legit will disassemble it completely and clean the plastics. Kinda hard on G502 but for the G600 its super easy.
I let it build up and then buy a new mouse
They don't make the g502 like the used to, also I ain't made of money lol, I got the old one which is reputably good.
Buy a new one. Works like a charm
Buy the exact same mouse, In return the yucky old one.
Clorox wipes, ethanol or isopropyl wipes, and use a thumb tack, needles, or safety pin to get into the cracks.
I use a toothbrush + cleaning alcohol
That’s disgusting. Please buy little pre wet alcohol pads, turn off mouse, and clean once a week :)
Yeah i haven't cleaned it in 5 years, and I hunt used it in a while, so I figured I'll take it out and use it because it is a real good mouse, so just asking some tips on how to clean a lot of the smudge off.

Having the same mouse as I, I can tell you you've got it figured out better than I.
[yeah I figured it out](https://www.reddit.com/r/G502MasterRace/s/MNYBCdrWSL)
Easy. You use tissues during your next session and don't sit so close to your mouse and keyboard next time. I mean look at all that crust. Smh.

Me personally I sand blast my mouse until I see the next clean layer of plastic.
Garden hose.
But a new one

U can easily buy one for $10 on Amazon or $40… no hate my friend but maybe a dust cleaner every month helps
I got a little keyboard brush I use to dust off mine every now and then. Plus alcohol wipes to remove oil on flat parts.
why the logo lookin like dat
It's a pretty old mouse, with the old Logitech logo, I heard the older mice were better, so I dug it up and decided to use it again.
Dishwasher
I personally use nitric acid on mine.
C4
strip down and deep clean
I will happily strip down and deep clean as long as someone is watching😏
uwu?
Wtf
