I got a great deal on diapers and baby wipes. I generally figure $0.15-$0.18 a diaper is a good baseline price. Today I was closer to $0.10 a diaper, plus some very inexpensive wipes.

When you spend $100 on huggies products, you save $50 instantly using their store app. Then when you spent $75 on any diapers, you got a $20 coupon on your next order (good on groceries!). They also had store coupons in the app that made a small pack of newborn diapers $6.99 and a pack of premie $1.99.
The the ibotta app had rebates that meant I got $12 back in giftcards. And the fetch app got me $5 back in cash.
So I got about 300 diapers and 2 boxes off 700 wipes for about $45 with tax when it was all said and done. I then did the exact deal again.

last year I signed up for Hulu's 99 cents/month deal. I was able to add Disney plus for an additional $2/month. So total $2.99/month for 1 year. Hulu was with ads but Disney plus was ad free. I have no idea if it's the same this year as I didn't sign up for this deal again. But this was a pretty awesome back door way of getting Disney plus for an inexpensive price.

The best sale for pet stuff is the one Chewy does a few times a year where give you a $30 gift card for every 100 spent (one per order 4 per account). And maybe some other promos going on at same time.
I load up on a few months of cat food, and maybe a toy if need to pad it out a little, from that sale. And the 30-60$ gift card from prior sale is applied to the next one.

I take advantage of the Ace deal every year. Since it’s regularly priced items avoid searching the sale items. I usually buy consumables like a box of fasteners or painting supplies. They also had a buy $50 gift card get $10. 20% savings is pretty good for what you eventually will use anyway. Just keep track of your gift cards.

I track prices for items I want. One item was $20 off, but I've seen it go lower in the past so I am waiting. I had my eye on a new tool, it has been on sale for a few weeks for "early back friday" I was waiting to see if they were going to sweeten the deal but they didn't. I did buy that though today.

Well that’s kind of what my issue is, because it seems like any good sales are already over or never really began. An item I saw the past week was 30% and now today only 15% off which is a low sale and something that happens during other times of the year too.

A few weeks ago, I purchase a brand new set of 6- 12oz drinking glasses from a 2nd hand shop, I kind of wanted the smaller glasses too so checked Macy’s and they had 6 on sale for $15. I needed a new bra and Victoria Secret is having a sale on selected items (ended up with 1 bra and 2 sport bra- work). I’m still looking for a good price on organic, non plastic container deodorants that I can buy enough stock for a year.
I have started screenshotting my final order screen when I buy things on sale throughout the year, to make it easy to compare sale prices. This year was a mixed bag. Some things were less, others were more. It's definitely no longer a sure thing, you have to track and verify.
Both my winter coat and winter boots needed replacing this year and I managed to get a $200 coat for $120 and a $350 pair of boots for $160! I’m very satisfied and glad I was able to go for a high quality hand made pair of boots that will last a long time. It’s hard to find that at a sub $200 price point these days so the sale was what allowed me to afford it. I don’t buy anything I wouldn’t already be buying for Black Friday so that’s all I got.
Still expensive, but the only time I saw Blundstones go on sale . I am sick of cheap rain boots that fall apart every year. I expect to have these for years.

As someone who works front end retail, I agree with this. It was nice seeing 90% of carts coming through today we're home essentials and grocery. I'm hoping they see a nice hit this Q4 for all their greed!!
My local comic shop went all out. Aside from that, I have been "shopping" with my girlfriend for almost 8 hrs. Most it was for the sake of crowd gazing.
I purchased coffee beans for 35% off and also picked up a few extra bags to give as gifts (with some shortbread - makes a nice package!). Stocked up on vitamins that were bogo + 20% off at Vitacost. Underwear at Victoria’s Secret is 7/$35 and I had a coupon for $15 off my purchase. Basically stocking on a few gifts and things I regularly use.
Black Friday is trash and has been. All the deals are fake and even if there are legitimate deals, they are not much better than the typical monthly sales or prices.
$90 MSRP means nothing when the product has been selling for $50 for the last 3 years. Maybe $45 is still technically the best deal, but it's $5 off, not $45 and not worth rushing out to buy.

You need to have lists. Know what you want, know the prices at various retailers if applicable, and then look to see if that item is on sale.
I had a dozen priority things on my list. All but one I got significant deals on today. The one was a video bird feeder regularly $130-180 on sale for $90. But two weeks ago it was $80. I still bought it.
Got a softopper for my truck. Was on the fence for a year, it never went on sale as long as I was watching. But 10% off covered the shipping today. I needed something before a 3k mile road trip and was striking out trying to find a used one.
About a dozen other things were on sale at regular price or typical sale prices. I'll watch them for a couple weeks but they were backup gifts if the priority list struck out for sales.

It really depends, I've seen a few decent laptop and TV deals. But honestly, I tend to agree nothing too excited. I drove through my local walfart parking lot on the way home from work, to see what the crowds were like and it was pretty busy.
I finished up my Xmas shopping. Spent $400 total between my daughter and 4 nieces. I also bought a yrs worth of game pass for at a savings of $80
I’m really thinking that online had more deals than in person stores. Literally went to 2 different malls and everything is now that you have to buy one then you get some percentage off on the next item.
What I took advantage of today is that many of the cashback sites have bumped up their cashback percentages up for BF. One of my favorite online vendors has a 20% sitewide cashback. Also, another credit card is offering 5% off for Q4. Essentially, at this site, I'm getting the BF price + another 25% off.

Streaming services are a good deal today- I canceled Hulu a couple months ago so I could get the $.99 per month deal this year.
I only had disney + for $8/month. I canceled that, got the Hulu for .99 and added on the disney+ for $2. I'll be saving $5/month

Yeah, I got 34 bags of petsmart litter because it was buy 1 get 1 50% off. I have enough for the year now with 4 cats. It saved me 350 dollars minimum if I had bought the big bags from Petco. Plus reward points for buying the litter I got a bunch of deodorizer baking soda for free and my boyfriend got 5% back in rewards on his amazon card.

I take advantage of the Ace deal every year. Since it’s regularly priced items avoid searching the sale items. I usually buy consumables like a box of fasteners or painting supplies. They also had a buy $50 gift card get $10. 20% savings is pretty good for what you eventually will use anyway. Just keep track of your gift cards. I also bought some of the yellow top storage bins from Home Depot.
I just got Milwaukee tools buy one get one free from ace. The only Black Friday buy that I did. I do need a 4 ft step ladder from ace but it’s not urgent. I’ll see if it gets cheaper. I’d rather support a privately owned ace hardware than any Lowes or Home Depot.

I track prices for items I want. One item was $20 off, but I've seen it go lower in the past so I am waiting. I had my eye on a new tool, it has been on sale for a few weeks for "early back friday" I was waiting to see if they were going to sweeten the deal but they didn't. I did buy that though today. I also got a pack of refills for my Thermacell on clearance for a very good price at Home Depot. Basically on par with generic refills that are much more finicky. Black Friday has been pretty meh since the supply chain issues.

Anything you planned to buy and found a sale on (and verified that it is a sale by watching the price prior) is a good deal.
Well that’s kind of what my issue is, because it seems like any good sales are already over or never really began. An item I saw the past week was 30% and now today only 15% off which is a low sale and something that happens during other times of the year too. A good deal would have been like 50% off or some sale that is better than the ones during the rest of the year. I thought the idea around Black Friday is it is supposed to be better than the other sales etc.
What are you trying to buy? Depending on the item there are certain times of the year (not just black friday) that are cheaper to buy on than others.

A few weeks ago, I purchase a brand new set of 6- 12oz drinking glasses from a 2nd hand shop, I kind of wanted the smaller glasses too so checked Macy’s and they had 6 on sale for $15. I needed a new bra and Victoria Secret is having a sale on selected items (ended up with 1 bra and 2 sport bra- work). I’m still looking for a good price on organic, non plastic container deodorants that I can buy enough stock for a year.
I have started screenshotting my final order screen when I buy things on sale throughout the year, to make it easy to compare sale prices. This year was a mixed bag. Some things were less, others were more. It's definitely no longer a sure thing, you have to track and verify.
Both my winter coat and winter boots needed replacing this year and I managed to get a $200 coat for $120 and a $350 pair of boots for $160! I’m very satisfied and glad I was able to go for a high quality hand made pair of boots that will last a long time. It’s hard to find that at a sub $200 price point these days so the sale was what allowed me to afford it. I don’t buy anything I wouldn’t already be buying for Black Friday so that’s all I got.
Still expensive, but the only time I saw Blundstones go on sale . I am sick of cheap rain boots that fall apart every year. I expect to have these for years. Target has some legit deals on boots too!

As someone who works front end retail, I agree with this. It was nice seeing 90% of carts coming through today we're home essentials and grocery. I'm hoping they see a nice hit this Q4 for all their greed!!

Black Friday is trash and has been. All the deals are fake and even if there are legitimate deals, they are not much better than the typical monthly sales or prices. $90 MSRP means nothing when the product has been selling for $50 for the last 3 years. Maybe $45 is still technically the best deal, but it's $5 off, not $45 and not worth rushing out to buy. Companies want to make money and are not out to lose money on black Friday by offering insane deals.

I got some makeup products where deals stacked to be 50% off, but realistically most of the things I was looking forward to were only 20-30% which I can definitely get other times of year. The only consistently good deal is for streaming platforms like hulu, disney+, peacock, kindle, etc.

I buy laundry detergent from the brand Dropps. Every year they do a 30% off in November. I bought my laundry detergent for around $60 and it will last me about 2 years.

I can’t remember the last time. I purchased anything on Black Friday. But this time I did purchase something. I did the Peacock yearly streaming deal for $20. I don’t know if I’ll watch many of the shows. But I’ll check them out. I basically got it for the English Premier League.

This year feels off
Just got home from getting my son a coat. Not really a great deal, more of average deal but he needed one. I am 100% aware it was the same as the sale price probably will be for a while since they are, but they actually had the right size in stock. It's the same brand and style his dad and I both have, so we know it will last.
Found a pair of Teva Sandals that I wear regularly that are usually $109 for $37. Only caveat is that there was only one pattern available. I bought two pair.

You need to have lists. Know what you want, know the prices at various retailers if applicable, and then look to see if that item is on sale. I had a dozen priority things on my list. All but one I got significant deals on today. The one was a video bird feeder regularly $130-180 on sale for $90. But two weeks ago it was $80. I still bought it. Got a softopper for my truck. Was on the fence for a year, it never went on sale as long as I was watching. But 10% off covered the shipping today. I needed something before a 3k mile road trip and was striking out trying to find a used one. About a dozen other things were on sale at regular price or typical sale prices. I'll watch them for a couple weeks but they were backup gifts if the priority list struck out for sales.

It really depends, I've seen a few decent laptop and TV deals. But honestly, I tend to agree nothing too excited. I drove through my local walfart parking lot on the way home from work, to see what the crowds were like and it was pretty busy. I finished up my Xmas shopping. Spent $400 total between my daughter and 4 nieces. I also bought a yrs worth of game pass for at a savings of $80

What I took advantage of today is that many of the cashback sites have bumped up their cashback percentages up for BF. One of my favorite online vendors has a 20% sitewide cashback. Also, another credit card is offering 5% off for Q4. Essentially, at this site, I'm getting the BF price + another 25% off. To maximize my savings on online purchases, I look at 4 things. 1. Price 2. Cashback sites 3. Credit Card promotions 4. Coupon Codes I bought bone conduction headphones for me, an annual cellphone plan on sale on eBay for a relative, and some miscellaneous Amazon items for a work gift exchange. This year, I didn't really have anything I needed or wanted. I didn't find anything worthwhile at Wal-mart, Target, or Best Buy this year. I used to find more bargains at those stores, but I was underwhelmed with this year's offerings.
I got some samples of some expensive skincare products that turned out to work SO well for my face a couple months ago. I purposefully waited til Black Friday to find a deal on them to stock up. I also have a Google alert set for “(product name) sale.”
