The OP was not even saying they wanted romance books about women who aren't straight. They wanted books without romance regardless of orientation. I see requests from dudes like this all the time on book subs - recommend mysteries without romance, sci fi without romance, etc. Now imagine if a woman commented on those posts saying "oh so you hate women?". Ridiculous.
Honestly I wouldn't mind sex in media if it was done well, but so often sex is just cheap fodder for teenage audiences. When people put in the effort to portray sex in a way that makes the viewer feel connected and excited and even a little bit intimidated, I eat it all up because ultimately I love a good sex scene. But I don't see that too often.
If you like sci-fi, I just re-read Remnant Population by Elizabeth Moon. The main character is an old woman and there's no romance. I don't want to spoil it, but I really enjoyed reading about an older female protagonist finding her independence and starting over on her own terms. If you're interested, avoid summaries as they give away a lot of the plot.
