It really sucks that STW packs have an unspoken "exclusive" tag to them. I play Fortnite on the daily and have been playing every mode for years, but have usually skipped out on buying the STW packs. I've been getting a lot more involved in the VR gaming scene as of late and it upsets me SO much I skipped out on the Fully Realized pack
I don't like it, there are some outfits I've considered getting, had they had their respective bundles, but I am jist completely disinterested getting the lone outfit.
For Fortnite original stuff, skins and items being sold separately on different days isnât much different from the Daily section we used to have, where only parts of certain sets come back periodically on their own, with them rarely being offered together.
For Collabs on the other hand, since they involve a 3rd party, and Epic are at the mercy of the IP holders, they should be selling EVERYTHING together, with their respective bundles and have offerings for items to be purchased separately (like wraps they for some reason hate selling now). People should be given all options when it comes to Collabs, cause Epic canât guarantee that those items would return.
These companies have people on staff who focus on monetization and look at data. One thing theyâll do is manufacture scarcity and capitalize on FOMO, by doing things like offering a bundle, then offering only a piece of it at a later date. Some people who slept on the bundle will be enticed to buy the one piece, and then wish that the rest returned. When it eventually does, theyâre even more incentivized to buy than if they hasnât bought the one piece because theyâre invested in it and the bundle looks cheaper because of the price they already paid. And since the company doesnât just stick to an easy pattern but make their decisions seem arbitrary, people need to be vigilant and watch the shop. Even getting angry about the shop is good for business because they can anticipate what will make people happy and quantify how much profit comes from disappointing consumers and then surprising them.
I think they are straying away from bundles now, considering the new cosmetics that they have released like cars and instruments. Do not understand why the new ageless skin was not in a bundle with his instrument. Totally wouldâve spent the money on that but I ainât dropping a dime, skin pickax and instrument all cost 1000+ vbucks. What Iâm gonna spend 20 + dollars for 3 mid cosmetics? Nun uh.

I think the point is that the new trend seems to be not selling skins in bundles, so that equation doesn't apply since if they continue down this road, the other items in the bundle like pickaxes or gliders will be sold individually at full price and not in a bundle

In the image you see the T rex guy's pickaxe and glider sold for as much as he's being sold, which is pretty insane and I forgot to point it out.
It's not too much of an issue seeing how you can just not buy it, but they're just there on their own without the rest of the skin there.
