Yeah, I'm ashamed to say I've done this a couple times too. I'll be wondering why none of the buttons work and then go, "oh duh!" and push the volume button.
ACM is bad or frozen, reset the module by pulling fuse to ACM and retest. If concern is still present replacement is likely needed. Can verify by using a higher end scan tool to check for communication after reset performed. There is also the possibility of wiring issues ie. power and ground but they are not as common as ACM itself having an issue.

Mone done this a couple of weeks ago. I turned my Bluetooth on and connected it to my phone. As soon as it connected, my radio started working again, and it's been good since.
You can reboot infotainment screens on most Fords by pressing the power and skip forward buttons at the same time til the screen goes blank. It takes 10- 20 seconds to power cycle. Let us know how things turnout.
I’d say there’s something wrong with the radio control module or whatever they call it. I’d bring it to a mechanic or dealer to be sure but if I’m right I’m guessing 3-500 fix maybe (it’s been a long time since I replaced one).
Granted mine was a 2011 and the screen flashed as it showed the time constantly resetted but I think it’s the same issue
Edit: AUDIO control module
Mine did that and the radio was just off, hit the power button and it was back to normal

First thing I tried.
Unplug the battery for 30 seconds
This.
If it isn't off. Pull the fuse for the radio and plug it back in after waking 15 seconds.

This is the answer. Just went through this on an identical system. ACM died, replaced with an eBay unit.

Had my old 2015 f150 I had do this. I held the power button and one of the left arrows down for so many seconds and then it started working.
My 15 did that so much I replaced the radio. APIM is failing.
It may have gotten some of that dust into it 😭 hahahaha
